00:00 so have you ever visited a website
00:02 especially on your phone
00:03 and you let's say it's a local
00:05 restaurant or a business that you want
00:06 to get to
00:07 and you click the get directions button
00:09 right now most of the time what happens
00:12 annoyingly is that it will open up a
00:14 browser window
00:15 to google maps where you can get the
00:17 directions that is not what we want
00:20 right i want to be able to get
00:22 directions natively
00:24 in the apple's map app so that i can get
00:27 directions natively in my phone
00:30 right so the direction stack does
00:32 exactly that
00:34 it checks for what device your user is
00:37 using
00:38 and then what it does is it dynamically
00:42 opens up an apple maps url or a google
00:45 maps url
00:46 depending on the architecture or the
00:48 machine that they're on
00:50 so if you're on a mac or you're on an
00:52 iphone or an ipad
00:53 it will open up that inside the apple
00:56 maps app
00:57 then if you're on a windows machine or
00:59 an android device
01:01 it will open up google maps so it is a
01:04 smart stack that allows you to easily
01:07 transform any link or any button
01:09 into the exactly what your end users
01:12 want
01:13 so let's jump in and get a quick tour of
01:15 the direction stack
01:26 so when you add the direction stack to
01:27 the page you'll notice it has
01:29 an open drop zone area which allows you
01:31 to drag
01:32 any button or any link that you want
01:35 within the stack right and it magically
01:38 finds it
01:39 and and creates the link or modifies the
01:41 link to be exactly what we expect it to
01:43 be
01:44 the settings are super easy right
01:46 essentially you can either choose an
01:47 address
01:48 or gps coordinates longitude and
01:50 latitude um so you can just
01:52 quickly have directions to that
01:53 particular area um this is 100 total cms
01:56 friendly so if you're using total cms
01:58 you can go ahead and insert all your
02:00 macros
02:01 in here um for the various uh you know
02:03 settings
02:04 and since we are on an apple device here
02:08 if you want to preview and make sure
02:09 that the google directions are working
02:11 you can click on this test google button
02:13 and that will force
02:15 the direction stack to use google within
02:17 wrapweaver preview
02:19 if we look at the implementations here
02:20 here i have a direction stack and all i
02:22 did is added
02:23 a button stack to it okay and it doesn't
02:26 matter what you can set the link to the
02:28 button to be whatever you want
02:30 on page load the direction stack will
02:31 figure out what device your user is on
02:34 dynamically create the directions url
02:37 for the address that you've configured
02:39 and then insert that into your button
02:41 and it does the same thing for links so
02:43 like here is a simple markdown stack
02:46 um and what it does here is if we look
02:47 at this um
02:49 it has a link for get directions
02:52 the url is just empty and what the
02:54 direction stack do is it will find the
02:56 link
02:57 and then it will dynamically inject that
02:59 directions url based on your user's
03:01 device
03:02 that's the direction stack super simple
03:04 to use super easy to use
03:06 super flexible you can use any button
03:09 any link you want
03:10 um so yeah it will definitely work in
03:12 your designs so if you're building
03:14 a website maybe for us a restaurant or a
03:16 local business and they need to have
03:17 directions
03:18 even maybe just a link down in the
03:20 footer or something like that
03:21 this is a great stack to have it makes
03:23 it much
03:24 more user friendly for your website
03:26 visitors or your customers website
03:27 visitors
03:28 so they can easily get directions in the
03:30 app that they prefer
03:33 to your business so take care hope you
03:34 enjoy the snack and we'll see you soon
03:44 bye"}]
