00:08 today I am excited to show you easy CMS
00:11 version 1 dot to this is a great update
00:14 that a lot of you have been waiting for
00:17 for a long time right it brings a lot of
00:20 exciting features some features actually
00:22 from Big Brother from total CMS right I
00:24 brought them down into into easy CMS and
00:27 I really feel that with this update easy
00:30 CMS is now a really powerful
00:31 well-rounded product and I think it I
00:34 addressed a lot of the concerns with the
00:36 initial release so um without further
00:39 ado let's jump in and see some of the
00:41 amazing features of easy CMS 1 dot 2 so
00:46 here we have the easy CMS demo project
00:49 that ships with easy CMS and the first
00:51 thing you'll notice is that we are in
00:52 rapidweaver 7 and easy CMS version 1
20:56 has full support for rec Weaver 7 in
00:58 both preview publishing everything right
01:01 so everything works great with easy CMS
01:04 12 and rapidweaver 7 another thing that
01:07 you'll notice is that we've now
01:09 separated the easy CMS stacks into
01:12 different groups so it's easier to find
01:13 things we have the easy CMS admin stacks
01:16 in their own little group that are blue
01:17 and then the white stacks are the
01:20 contents tax now one thing you'll notice
01:23 also is that there is a new content
01:25 stack called CMS core this may be the
01:29 biggest change in easy CMS and that this
01:33 new seema score stack really takes care
01:36 of a lot of this CMS stuff behind the
01:38 scenes that was before drilled drizzled
01:41 across a couple different stacks so the
01:44 CMAs course tack should be added to
01:46 every page that you want to use the CMS
01:49 on you can add this to the top or the
01:52 bottom I'm using foundation here so I'm
01:55 adding it to the top so that I can keep
01:57 it next to that next two sites tiles
01:58 right but you'll notice here that inside
02:01 the CMS core we have new text macros
02:04 available we have a lot more text macros
02:07 and they're a little bit different than
02:09 before so if you're using the old text
02:12 macros I
02:13 strongly suggest that you move to the
02:16 new syntax as soon as possible on the
02:19 old syntax will still work however I
02:22 can't promise that it will work forever
02:24 right this new macro syntax is more
02:28 verbose it allows us to have more
02:29 options as well as it's actually a lot
02:32 faster than the previous format to parse
02:35 so I strongly recommend that as soon as
02:38 possible you move to these new text
02:40 formats are the new macros now if we
02:44 look at the settings for the CMS course
02:45 stack you'll notice that you can
02:47 actually turn on and off processing of
02:49 macros and then you can define whether
02:51 or not you're using foundation or not so
02:55 and it has an auto checker which is by
02:57 default but I recommend you for using
02:59 foundation tell the CMS core that you're
03:01 actually using foundation and if you're
03:03 not using foundation tell it that you're
03:05 not it will just save a little bit of
03:07 processing on page load times now let's
03:11 move over to the admin page and what
03:13 you'll notice is that easy CMS finally
03:15 has its own protect stack now so you can
03:19 pass or protect your admin pages with
03:21 ease there is also a complimentary
03:24 logout stack that allows you to add a
03:26 logout button on your admin pages as
03:28 well so this was a much desired feature
03:32 request and I'm glad that we finally
03:34 have this in easy CMS so you don't need
03:36 to worry about having any other solution
03:38 um it has baked in a protect stack right
03:41 into the product now the next new admin
03:44 stack is the debug stack now you can add
03:50 the stack to the page and by default it
03:52 adds a server check stack that only
03:54 shows inside rapidweaver and this shows
03:57 when you preview it shows you some debug
03:59 information about your total CMS
04:01 instance whether um not it's registered
04:05 on whether or not what your PHP version
04:08 is what your host name is and things of
04:10 that nature so gives you a little bit of
04:12 information about your server to help
04:14 you maybe pinpoint any errors or issues
04:16 that easy CMS may be having on your
04:19 server now if you click on the plus
04:21 button you'll notice that there is also
04:22 a CMS log stack and this is could be
04:26 useful because it adds
04:27 actual CMS information all the
04:30 transactional information um that shows
04:33 up in the CMS so when data is removed or
04:36 added to the CMS um if there are any
04:38 errors and things of that nature it kind
04:41 of is another way of helping debug
04:43 issues within the CMS now another
04:47 feature that came from total CMS is the
04:50 awesome fullscreen markdown editor so
04:53 that you can type your content in your
04:55 mark down over on the on the left and
04:57 then you actually see live updates of
05:01 that information directly on the right
05:04 side of the browser so there we have it
05:11 everybody the easy CMS one dot to update
05:14 as you see brought a lot of great
05:16 features especially the protect stack
05:18 the fullscreen editor right and then the
05:21 CMS course stack with all the new text
05:24 processing macros that we have available
05:26 to us right this really gives us a lot
05:29 of possibilities of using not only the
05:32 text across all other stacks but if you
05:36 notice there were new sets of macros for
05:37 resolving image paths this allows us to
05:41 really leverage and easily leverage
05:43 these images across all stacks that
05:46 support warehouse images right so it's
05:49 really simple um it's powerful and I
05:52 hope you enjoy this update it really is
05:55 a well-rounded full featured product now
05:57 and I'm very happy that you know it's
06:00 going to give you a lot of power to edit
06:02 all of your website content online so
