About Stacks Guru

Stacks Guru is born from the need to search the vast number of videos out there on stacks built for Stacks Pro and the Stacks 5 plugin for Rapidweaver.

We have scraped over 500 videos to get the transcripts for each in order to make the spoken word searchable.

Please use this free tool to help you learn and discover the awesome power that Stacks and the stacks made for Stacks have to offer.

00:09 so chances are you've already seen this
00:11 demo on the Owen bed product page but
00:14 let's just review it really quick here
00:16 I've used own bed to embed quite a few
00:19 different services directly onto my web
00:21 page and here I have a Twitter feed that
00:24 kind of scrolls through all my latest
00:25 tweets here I have a Facebook post next
00:29 up we have an Instagram post which is
00:32 fully interactive this is a slideshow
00:34 videos work as well but it's really
00:36 really great you can actually have
00:37 people log in and actually add comments
00:40 directly from your website um let's just
00:43 show you we can do other things other
00:44 than social right here is actually a
00:46 github um in bed
00:48 so I'm actually embedding a gist from
00:52 github so a snippet of code directly on
00:55 my page and further down the page I'm
00:58 embedding a giffy and also a youtube
01:00 video and this is just a small sampling
01:02 of what we can actually do with Owen bed
01:06 so implementing own bed is super easy
01:08 you drag and drop it onto your page and
01:11 if we look at the settings here all you
01:12 need to do is put in the URL that you
01:15 want to embed so in this example here I
01:17 have my Twitter profile now if you
01:20 notice that Twitter profile that
01:21 actually scrolled and that was done
01:23 because we can actually define a max
01:25 height directly inside the own bed and
01:27 it will automatically scroll that
01:29 content to the height that we defined
01:31 right and we can also define small
01:34 medium and large sizes um so that we can
01:38 actually vary the height based on the
01:40 size of your browser window now in the
01:42 case of this Facebook post the actual
01:44 post actually didn't go to the entire
01:46 width of the column so what we can do is
01:49 when embeds like are like that we can
01:51 actually have control over the alignment
01:53 so in this particular example for that
01:55 Facebook post
01:56 I wanted it Center aligned but depend on
01:58 what you want you might want it left or
02:00 right aligned as well so if we look at
02:02 that same demo but in one column will
02:04 see that this Facebook post it actually
02:06 doesn't you know stretch out so Oh embed
02:09 actually you know does that alignment
02:11 for us so they can Center align the
02:12 content here this Instagram post is
02:14 gonna be left aligned but some other
02:17 things such as gif II and YouTube
02:19 what om that does is it intelligently
02:22 scales the embed so that it actually
02:25 fills the entire width of the container
02:28 now there's one important setting here
02:29 for supplied default content and when
02:32 you check this this allows you to
02:33 actually supply you can build out your
02:35 own stack data that will be displayed
02:37 before the embed is actually added to
02:40 the page as well as this content is
02:43 displayed if there's any errors with the
02:45 embed so if maybe Facebook embeds are
02:47 currently down you can actually maybe
02:49 display a link to your Facebook account
02:51 or something like that so that you know
02:53 there's always some sort of content to
02:55 be displayed whether or not the actual
02:57 embed is able to be embedded or not so
03:01 the biggest question with om bed is what
03:04 URLs can I embed what is supported and
03:07 what's not
03:07 well good no no further than look at
03:10 embed Dali and this is a company that
03:13 actually supplies a service for
03:16 essentially what a one-bed does right
03:17 but obviously this has a monthly fee
03:20 Asya has its own branding and you have
03:22 none of that with owen bed right but
03:25 they've done a lot of legwork with this
03:27 providers page that actually documents
03:29 over 700 websites and various URLs for
03:32 each website that we can actually use to
03:35 embed directly using the o embed stack
03:38 for example if I go ahead and search for
03:40 Facebook and let's go ahead and click on
03:44 this Facebook you'll notice that it
03:45 actually gives us some URL schemes that
03:48 are actually supported by Facebook so
03:51 this um they have this for every single
03:53 service you can get an idea of what
03:55 types of URLs are actually supported for
03:58 that particular website so I hope you
04:01 enjoy o embed it is a really great
04:03 easy-to-use stack that has absolutely
04:05 zero branding and runs 100% on your web
04:08 browser
04:17 you"}]
