00:09 hey joe workman here and
00:10 today i am really excited to talk to you
00:12 about our new paypal stacks
00:14 now if you're looking at this you
00:15 probably have wanted to implement some
00:17 sort of
00:18 payment system or donation buttons or
00:21 something on your website some sort of
00:22 e-commerce solution
00:24 and maybe you've been intimidated by a
00:26 lot of shopping carts and online
00:28 services that
00:29 maybe could be complicated to integrate
00:30 into your websites now a few weeks ago i
00:33 did
00:33 a live stream on how to integrate paypal
00:36 buttons into our websites
00:37 and that was really awesome right um it
00:39 showed the power of
00:40 an easiness of paypal buttons but it was
00:43 a little
00:44 complicated because we had to go to
00:45 paypal create the buttons
00:47 get the code snippet and then put that
00:49 code snippet on our site and if we
00:51 wanted to tweak it the styles and stuff
00:53 that took a little bit more work so i
00:56 thought i would simplify the entire
00:57 process
00:58 and create a nice paypal stack suite for
01:01 us
01:01 to easily create paypal buttons we don't
01:04 need to visit paypal
01:05 the stack does all the work for you so
01:08 let's jump in and see how awesome these
01:09 stacks are
01:10 so it really couldn't be easier to
01:12 implement a paypal button on our site
01:14 here i've added a paypal stack to the
01:16 page and you'll notice we have a button
01:19 wrapper
01:19 and this allows us to add whatever
01:21 button we want
01:23 into the stack so since i'm using my
01:25 foundation 6 theme here
01:27 i just added a quick foundation 6 button
01:29 but you can use
01:30 any button stack that you want in any
01:32 theme um in the paypal stacks will work
01:34 perfectly one of the benefits of these
01:37 paypal stacks actually is that i
01:38 actually apply zero styles and it really
01:41 uses
01:41 your designs so it uses the designs from
01:44 your theme
01:44 and other stacks that you use so that
01:47 all it does is provide you the paypal
01:49 functionality
01:50 so let's dive into the main paypal stack
01:52 now and see what we can do
01:54 so you see here from the type we can
01:56 either have this be a donate button
01:57 a buy now button we can add and use
02:00 paypal shopping cart
02:01 we can actually make a subscription and
02:04 if you really wanted to use a button
02:06 that you made on paypal.com
02:08 you can actually use that pre-made
02:09 paypal button as well just by supplying
02:11 the id
02:13 okay but right now we're gonna do a buy
02:15 now button um we can either open in the
02:17 current window or
02:18 open uh the paypal checkout in a new tab
02:21 for fun let's just go ahead and open in
02:23 a new tab
02:24 um in our paypal id this is going to be
02:26 your either your merchant id or your
02:29 paypal email address
02:30 so you can use either or i personally
02:33 prefer using my paypal merchant id
02:35 so that um you know my paypal email
02:38 address isn't just
02:38 out there in the world um and then the
02:41 urls here
02:42 this is going to be the return url so
02:44 this is the url that
02:45 the user will be returned back to after
02:48 a successful checkout so maybe this will
02:50 be a thank you page
02:51 and if they cancel their uh purchase um
02:54 this maybe take them back to some sort
02:56 of canceling page or maybe your main
02:58 shopping page
02:58 okay um and then the logi url this is
03:01 going to be the url of your logo so that
03:04 you can insert that
03:05 on the paypal checkout page this allows
03:07 you to you know insert your brand a
03:08 little bit
03:09 into that paypal checkout next up we're
03:12 going to type in our item name so this
03:13 is going to be the name of your product
03:15 um and then askew if you have a sku this
03:17 is an optional field
03:18 this is going to be your product id just
03:21 this is purely just for your own
03:22 use um in the back end um so that you
03:25 can have a skew
03:26 and then this is the amount so if we put
03:28 in uh the amount of our product
03:30 um we can easily do that so i see here
03:33 now i've previewed this i have my buy
03:34 now button and if i click on buy now
03:37 immediately opened up a new tab and it
03:39 took me to the paypal
03:41 and with a 25 purchase
03:44 right this couldn't be easier we did
03:46 that in less than a minute
03:49 pretty impressive now there are some
03:51 optional stacks that we can use as well
03:53 such as the shipping stack that allows
03:54 us to define our shipping costs
03:56 and this allows us to define what is the
03:58 shipping cost for the first item
04:01 and then if you want to have subsequent
04:02 shipping costs for each additional item
04:05 you can do that as well so maybe the
04:06 first item is ten dollars and
04:08 each subsequent item is five dollars or
04:11 it could be free and you could just
04:12 leave that blank
04:13 we also have some special things for
04:15 paypal subscriptions so if you're using
04:17 a subscription form
04:18 this allows you to define the rules for
04:21 your subscription
04:22 so is there a trial period is the trial
04:24 period free
04:25 um is it a paid trial right so maybe
04:28 it's uh 1
04:29 for the first week and then 50 a month
04:32 after that
04:32 right this is exactly what you can do
04:35 with these paypal subscription settings
04:36 here
04:38 and then lastly we have the ability to
04:39 add some text options
04:41 and a select box option okay
04:44 let's look at a a kind of a completed
04:47 shopping form
04:48 so you can kind of see how these are
04:49 used so here's a here's a
04:51 sample of a fictitious uh you know
04:54 weaver space hoodie that we could buy
04:56 and if you notice here we can have a
04:57 color option so we can have a
04:59 you know option if we wanted a white
05:00 hoodie um and then maybe we have sizes
05:03 now in this option we actually for
05:05 depending on the size we actually have a
05:07 different price
05:08 so you can actually have these select
05:10 options drive the price of your product
05:12 as well
05:13 this way um you know you can vary your
05:15 price based on the options
05:17 and then here is the sample of that text
05:19 field where maybe i don't know this is
05:21 putting the website domain maybe you
05:22 want to put
05:23 your website name on the sleeve or
05:25 something i don't know right
05:26 but this allows the customer to type in
05:28 options as well as have predetermined
05:30 options from a select box now as you see
05:33 implementing these are really simple
05:35 we um we have the select option here
05:37 where i've just added options for blue
05:39 green white and purple
05:41 now in the second select option here for
05:43 the size
05:44 i'm actually defining custom prices so
05:47 i have the define prices options set
05:49 inside the select box
05:51 and then inside each option here i'm
05:53 actually defining the price
05:55 inside each option um this will tell the
05:58 paypal
05:59 uh forms that you know each option is
06:02 this specific price
06:06 and then obviously the text option here
06:08 is just a normal text box that we have a
06:10 bunch of options that we can
06:11 uh customize as you see those stacks are
06:13 really really easy to use
06:15 i implemented that buy now button in
06:18 under a minute
06:19 right and it's very flexible allows us
06:21 to do a lot of things
06:22 subscriptions and all that stuff a lot
06:24 of stuff that we really would love to do
06:26 but
06:27 we feel is too complicated and this
06:29 stack makes it
06:30 so easy so hope you enjoy this stack
06:32 hope to see you
06:33 over on the weaver space community and
06:35 go out there and make your websites
06:36 great
06:46 bye you"}]
