Stacks + AI: Sneak peek at the future of web design

09/09/2026

In case you missed the latest beta for Stacks that dropped last week, we have AI integration with Stacks. It's the most excitement I have seen in the community for quite some time. Today I have a laundry list of things that I want to test out and will be doing it on-the-fly. It starts about 30 minutes after the Apple Event today, so we may have a little chatter about the new hot new toys. I hope to see you there!

Transcript

00:03 Let's see. How's everyone doing today? Let's see as the We got all four channels live. Up two, four up. Yep.
00:12 There we go. Looks like we're live. Excellent. Let's get some people in the chat.
00:21 Let me know how uh audio and visuals are good. I actually had to stop watching the Apple event. I saw that they unveiled the iPhone Duo. Um,
00:33 not the name I don't think anybody expected, right? Everything was the the iPhone Fold or the iPhone Ultra. Nope. It's going to be iPhone Duo, it looks
00:42 like. Um, I saw glimpses of it. I was just preparing for this and uh yeah, also
00:50 I uh as I was watching the uh the Apple keynote, I was opening some of the mail and I got I got a notification that I
00:59 got a red light. I turned red I turned right on a red light and uh that kind of pissed me off. I'll admit it. Um, so I
01:08 was uh I was doing a little bit of research and there are no signs saying I can't turn red at that intersection at all. So I don't know. I'm confused. Um,
01:17 I'm going to uh yeah, obviously going to contest it cuz I think it's bologoney. But uh anyway, uh so that flush flustered me for uh
01:27 past 20 minutes or so. But anyway, um we're here today to uh yeah, to look at
01:35 some pretty amazing stuff. Audio cratered. Uhoh.
01:45 So, I bought a new cable. Okay. Uh how's Let me know if the audio is better on that. Sometimes this is uh
01:55 Yeah, audio connection is wonky sometimes. >> [snorts] >> Let me know in the chat ASAP if uh if the audio is better. Hopefully. It looks
02:05 like it's good. Audio is very quiet. All right. Well, uh audio is quiet. Uh I I upped my gain
02:14 quite a bit. Uh hopefully that is a little bit better. Okay, perfect. Um anyway, I also ordered
02:25 because I've been having audio issues every now and then. So, I did order a new cable and it showed up yesterday and uh so I unplugged the the my
02:35 existing cable, plugged in the new one. No, and a they sent me the wrong cable. I was like, shoot, it wasn't the right
02:44 shape and whatnot, but it would work, right? But it was also they also sent me a 50-ft one instead of a 20 foot. And I was like, well, let me see if this new
02:52 one works so I can do the live stream today. And uh so I did plug it in even though it wasn't the correct shape to, you know, to fit my setup, but it it
03:01 plugged into the mic and all that jazz, but 50 feet was just way too long. Um the the the audio signal was just way
03:10 too faint on 50 ft. Um so yeah, um returning that one and they're hopefully they're going to ship me back the correct cable that I bought. Um and
03:20 hopefully that should solve my audio issues. Um, so anyway, okay. Um,
03:28 okay. So that today we're gonna be talking about um stack 6. Um, a new beta got released last week, beta 66.
03:38 Uh, Route 66, as they say, right? And um, a fancy new feature on it uh, is one I've been I've been trying to get uh, I
03:48 didn't think we're going to get this feature until after launch. So getting it now has been has been uh fun. Okay. Now I should should I obviously I should
03:56 preface this today that um everything this is a beta. This is the first beta of this, right? Um and I already have an
04:05 entire laundry list of improvements and and fixes and uh it can only get better from what we're going to see today. So
04:13 pretty exciting. Now, because of the Apple thing and because of that little red light ticket letter that I got, I uh
04:23 I was a little flustered and didn't I wanted to prepare a little bit. Uh but um I have notes on what I want to do, but
04:31 as usual during my live streams, I like doing things on the fly. Like I don't want it to be rehearsed. I like doing things on the fly so you guys can see
04:40 everything. Um so yeah, without further ado, let's just go ahead. I'm going to start sharing my screen and uh let's go ahead and play and let
04:49 me get my AI session open here.
04:57 Okay, share my screen. Okay, got to make sure I still got the chat window. There we go. [snorts]
05:11 Okay, cool. Um so we are going to
05:19 use Claude to interact and build uh build a stacks web page. Okay. Um pretty exciting. [clears throat]
05:29 So obviously first off the big thing is le let's do the big thing up front. Okay. A I'm using Claude. Um, oh, and I guess I
05:39 should talk about um the how how you actually install this first. Okay, so basically uh what you're going to do is you're going to open up the stacks preferences and there is a new AI tab
05:49 here and uh I'm using claude. So you would click this install and that will install that. If you're using uh chat GPT uh you can install that plugin. So
05:59 there's official plugins for both of these. Um, if you're using a different one, um, a different AI, I know maybe
06:08 there's some, you know, some edge case AIS out there. Um, it is possible these are both communicating with this, uh, basically a STAX MCP binary that's
06:17 inside the STAX app. Um, there's a post on the community that I answered, I think it was yesterday, uh, with the path to that if you wanted to try to integrate with some other agent. All
06:26 right, but for today, we're going to be looking at Claude. Um, it's what I use. Um, and you can install it with via the button inside the preferences.
06:36 Okay. So, um, let's go ahead and let me get my my notes up really quick.
06:47 Actually, you know, let's h let's go let's go for the hard stuff first. Why not? Let's just we're going to dive right into the deep end, okay?
06:56 Because I know everybody wants this. All >> [snorts] >> right. So, let's um first off, I I have noticed that it is better um if you give
07:06 claw AI guard rails, right? Not just claw, but AI kind of guard rails. Okay? And by by that, what I mean is
07:15 what what we're going to do is we're going to start with a design. Okay? And then um from that design, we're going to um have it replicate that inside of
07:27 stacks. Okay. Uh I don't have a design prepared. Like I said, I want to do this on the fly. Okay. So you guys can kind of get a taste. Um and hopefully I don't know,
07:37 maybe while AI is turnurning, I have some cool Total CMSs 3.5 stuff I've been working on. Maybe while instead of us just sitting here watching AI do its
07:46 thing, uh I can show off some stuff. Okay, let me know in the in the chat if uh if you think that that would be a good idea. Okay. Um so let's say I'm
07:54 going to create a design. So um can you help me uh create a
08:03 um nice design for a um fictional uh what do we want to do? Um
08:15 uh let's do just do a a a fictional uh uh web design agency
08:24 website. Um we um the agency
08:34 creates uh bespoke um site uh websites for small to medium
08:46 um businesses. Um they offer um other services
08:54 such as um SEO um copywriting
09:03 and um uh general um business autom automations
09:12 through AI and custom development.
09:21 Hey, how about that? Um, let's uh call this agency
09:29 um the Wolfpack. um
09:38 design just the homepage for now in a single HTML file.
09:51 All right, there we go. Let's do it. No clue what we're going to get. Okay, like I said, we're we're going with the wind today, guys. All right. And while that
10:00 does its thing, um, let's go ahead and I will launch up,
10:09 uh, let's go to [snorts]
10:20 All right. So while that while AI is turnurning its its its wh its mind over here um let's go ahead and look at some total CMS 3.5
10:31 uh features. Okay. Um these will be coming in you were talking oh let's see you were talking about guard rails. What
10:39 do you intend with that? Uh, well, guardrails is basically like instead of just giving it a blank canvas, right? So, um, all right, let me let me back up
10:48 really quick while while AI is doing that. Thanks for clarifying that, Franco. So, um,
10:57 let's think about this, right? AI is it knows, um, general things on the web very well, right? Obviously, it knows
11:05 HTML and CSS and JavaScript, okay? Very well. Um, it doesn't know stacks very
11:14 well yet. Okay. Now, the more me and you use it locally, our local agents will
11:22 learn it and maybe over time AI in general will learn it. Okay. Um,
11:30 however, so AI knows how to build a web page using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, but not necessarily how um how to build
11:42 something from scratch with stacks that looks great. So, what we do is we go, hey, here's a cool design that we that we're creating. Cloud's creating it
11:52 right now, right? And then what we're going to do is we're going to say, okay, now that we have this, so instead of giving it like an entirely open canvas,
12:01 we're going to give it the task of, hey, we have this HTML file. Okay, let's take this design and here's stacks. Let's build it. Right? So, it's giving it
12:10 guardrails because it knows HTML really well. So, it doesn't really need guardrails for that, right? But for for stacks, it it doesn't really know. So,
12:19 we have to give it a little bit of direction, right? At least for now. Okay. Um, and so yeah, it uh by by
12:27 designing the web page first, okay, we can kind of say, hey, I like this. Let's create this in stacks. Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room, right?
12:36 Um, here I'll actually I'll share my screen so you guys can watch watch uh Claude doing its thing, I guess, if you want. Um, but what's the elephant in the room?
12:47 Okay, the elephant in the room here is well if if Claude's so good at creating HTML and CSS and JavaScript like what
12:56 why do I need stacks? Let's just answer that one directly. Okay. Um and the reason for that is maintainability going
13:05 on in the future, right? So um if [clears throat] if we can have AI create something in stacks, stacks is something
13:15 that we can open up and then um maintain ourselves. Um you can continue to use AI to help you maintain it, right? If you need to, but um it gives us a platform
13:25 and a framework in order to um yeah manage and maintain websites properly and that is very important. I find that
13:36 um having AI leverage a platform or a framework. Okay, look. Oh, it's creating something up here. Cool. Um but having
13:47 AI leverage and using a framework such as stacks and total CMS, you give it you give it the tools needed instead of
13:56 instead of just going out there and creating whatever it wants. Okay. And I find that maintainability on a pl using
14:05 a platform is better because it gives a set of rules to AI to follow. Okay. Um and also something for us to manually go
14:15 in and maintain instead of AI just creating these random set of code files that maybe a handful of people here on the stream understand.
14:25 Okay. But I'll tell you, even myself, like AI over time will go off the rails and it'll create something here and then
14:34 next month it'll it'll see what what it did and it'll kind of maybe diverge a little bit and it just becomes a mess and that's because um it doesn't have
14:44 those those guard rails. Okay. So by using a platform such as stacks and total CMS um we're kind of
14:53 giving it focus. Okay. And a set of rules to to create something that's going to help us manage and do things better going forward.
15:02 Okay. Um also like I know AI is the hot thing right now. Okay. Obviously,
15:12 but um right now all these AI companies are losing money handover fist, right? So eventually I think you know Claude
15:21 and GPT for a lot some a lot of things. um it might be getting very expensive. Okay. Um therefore um if if you're
15:33 relying on it to maintain a code base for you um and you don't know how and you you rely on it because you don't
15:43 understand it, right? That's a problem. But if but you understand stacks and you understand total CMS and you understand,
15:51 you know, other things, right? So um if you have it leverage those platforms that are userfriendly for you to manage
16:00 the data yourself if you need to then that is the smart move in my opinion. Okay. Um so anyway um
16:10 it's created here. Let's go ahead. I'm going to let's move this over here. Uh because we have a web page now. Nice.
16:20 Okay. So um excellent. We have this decent looking web page. Cool. I like it. [snorts]
16:30 Um, let's go ahead and uh let's take this and let's create this in stacks. Okay. So, what what I'm going to
16:40 do right now is I'm going to go ahead and let's create a new a new project file. I'll new project. Oh, shift command N.
16:52 And uh I'm just going to go ahead and let's save this. Um let's just save it to my desktop and we'll call it um Wolfpack
17:00 Agency. And we're going to save that. All right. So now I have a project file. Okay. And
17:09 um yeah, let's just uh we'll set up some some defaults for it. Okay. So we're just going to go https.
17:18 I don't let's just say uh wool pack agency.est. Okay. U maybe if we have time today I can serve this up. I don't know but
17:28 probably not. Uh let's do theme. Obviously we're going to do foundation 6 theme basic layout homepage. That's fine. All right. Let's save that just so
17:36 we have something. Okay. Whoops. Okay. There we go. So now I have this
17:44 project file. And actually, let's go ahead and um let's make it a little bit smaller because we're gonna
17:54 so we can see both of these windows at the same time. Here, let's do right. There we go. Boom. Over here, we're going to do left. Boom.
18:03 Okay. So, now we see both the chat and um and stacks. All right. So now
18:12 um uh I would now like you to try and um
18:21 replicate um this design inside the um stacks project that I um
18:33 currently have open for the wolf. Oops. Wolf pack agency.
18:43 Um I have set the theme to use uh Foundation 6.
18:51 So please uh try to use um the F6 stacks
18:59 um where you can. I don't know. Let's see it. Pretty
19:07 simple, right? Just a couple sentences. Hey. Hey, uh connect I'm using stacks. Um I set up this project file. Uh can you create this this web page in it?
19:19 Uh oh. Uh currently replicate. Oh yeah. Oh, there we go. Um oh, let's say um [snorts]
19:27 uh let's just see it. Let's see what it does. All right. Um,
19:39 okay. So, uh, while that's doing its thing, all right. Um, well, it's it's kind of fun watching this. Um, cuz it's going to start doing stuff. So, what I'm
19:48 going to do is here, uh, while that's thinking, uh, let's make sure that's actually connecting to, um,
19:56 oh, did I type not? I always do that. I always type not instead of now all the time.
20:11 Uh, I'm making sure that um let's make sure that I have the extension enabled. Did I It's here.
20:20 Configure. It's enabled. Cool. Always allow. Excellent. Uhoh.
20:42 planning the layout and structure. All right. Well, while that's doing its thing, may maybe I'll I'll keep a my uh my eye on it and as it's building it out, uh we'll we'll have a gander
20:53 [clears throat] while uh oh, I moved it over here. Um let's have a gander at some cool total CMS stuff here. And what we'll do is
21:01 we'll we'll maybe shrink this window down so we can kind of see multiple things going on here all at once. So we can kind of keep an eye on stacks up here, see what it's doing. But I don't
21:09 want to sit here and twiddle our thumbs while we wait a few minutes for uh for claw to do its thing, right? Um I should do like a
21:24 managing large stack configuration data efficient. Okay. Uh it it's looking like it's doing it. Oh, list. Oh, yeah. It's definitely Yeah. listing the projects, blah, blah, blah, blah. I was I was just
21:33 making sure that it was actually connected to stacks. Okay, cool. Um, all right. Let's look at some fun stuff in Total CMS 3. Uh, coming up in 3.53.
21:46 Um, there's quite a bit of changes here and so, uh, I'll probably release this in about a week. I want to do quite a bit of testing on this. Okay. So, first
21:57 off, you notice, oh, look, site styles is there. There we go. Look at that. Boom. Site styles. Um, so anyway, uh, let's finish this
22:05 quick little tour is, uh, look, so one thing with 3.5, if you've updated to total CMS 3.5, you'll
22:14 notice that, um, there's a lot of new icons and new features over here on the left menu. Okay? And while that's
22:23 awesome, maybe you're not using all those features, right? Like for example, maybe you're not using the mailer or the automations or data views, right? And so
22:31 you kind of would like to clean this up a little bit. So now what you can do is that little flip out thing, which g drives me nuts sometimes. Um you can you
22:40 can now hide them inside of this more menu. Okay. And uh so let's show you how you can do that really quick. So let's go to settings. And if you go into the
22:48 dashboard settings, um there is the more menu settings here and you can just check uh whatever options and whatever
22:56 you check will show up in this menu. Uh if you have any extensions installed um such as starter here is actually an extension.
23:06 Um all the extension menus or nav items will show up here as well and you can actually move those into this as well. So uh pretty cool. Um, I think it's I
23:16 think it's a nice uh little feature ad just to show you. Let's say I didn't want um what do we want? Let's move builder. Okay. Um builder and let's
23:25 save. Okay. So now if I refresh this page, you'll see builder is gone and it shows up here in the navigation. Pretty cool,
23:35 right? Okay. Let's um here let's go into this and see what's going on in here. It's kind of fun to watch. It's really fun to watch, actually. Um it's pretty
23:45 trippy just going ahead and it's going ahead and adding look it's adding a two column and so it added a site styles. It uh went ahead and added some component
23:54 colors which is interesting. Now I've taught Claude nothing about any of the Foundation 6 stacks. That's going to
24:04 change. Okay. And so what I'm what and what I'm saying is like it knows nothing about any of this. So it just figured it out which is crazy. Okay. Um, and yeah,
24:15 I'm excited to make integration with my stacks and AI a little bit better so that it knows how to use these and add them and it knows what's what and maybe
24:24 what to put what inside of what, right? Um, so yeah, I have a lot of ideas around that and um, yeah, I'm I'm hoping
24:33 that uh it's going to it's going to work out. Now, this is interesting. If you watch Josh's video, [laughter] Josh posted a video uh literally within five minutes
24:42 of getting a build, um he he built a a web page similar to the workflow I'm doing here, although he had it build the web page inside Stacks instead of
24:52 outside. Um I wanted to build it outside just kind of I think that's a more natural workflow. Um but it'll be interesting to see what it's doing now.
25:01 Um, so yeah, let's uh let's get back to uh uh Total CMS3 and hopefully uh we'll let that keep going.
25:11 Okay. Um so anyway, fun feature in Total CMS3 is that more menu. Let me know in the chat if you have any questions about that. I think it's pretty cool. [snorts]
25:22 Um oh uh Wolf says, "Hey, what about site styles? I thought we weren't using site styles inside uh stack 6." Um, site
25:30 styles in stack six is completely different. Whoa, it's doing stuff. I shouldn't interact with it. Um, so site styles inside stack six is just a
25:39 glorified swatches stack now. Okay, if you click on it and look at the settings, I don't want to mess up uh claw doing its thing, so I'm not going to click around. Okay, but um yeah, the
25:50 site style stack doesn't have any settings in it. Um well, there's some checkboxes, but it's just to turn on and off various things inside the layout.
25:59 Okay. Um, so yeah, site style stack is different in stack six than it is in stacks five. Okay. Because as you said,
26:07 all the settings are done in the theme now. All those site style settings. Okay. Uh when cloud's done, we'll we'll have a look at it. But okay. Uh while
26:17 it's building, as you see, it is it is building stuff, which is fun and interesting. Okay. Uh let's let's head back to um Gia here. All right. Um, next
26:27 feature inside total CMS is uh let me get my little list of my little laundry list of stuff just to remind myself. Oh yes. Okay. Um, we have a new field
26:38 coming. Okay. And um, it is called video, right? So um, here is a video field. Uh, and
26:48 actually you know what I'm going to do is I'm I'm going to delete this video. and we're going to create a new one. Uh,
26:58 and let's just call it YouTube. Okay. And, uh, let's paste in a YouTube URL. Uh, that one's from there. So, there is
27:07 a YouTube URL. Now, here's a drop zone for a poster. I'm not going to add an image for right now. Um, and you'll see
27:15 why in a second. Okay. So, I'm going to All I did is I pasted in a YouTube URL. A it notice it's YouTube.com. Okay. Um,
27:23 and let's go ahead and save.
27:33 Okay. So, as you see, uh, now that I saved, uh, what it did is I didn't upload an image, but this is the actual
27:41 thumbnail from YouTube. Okay. So, um, I don't have to upload an image. Um, it will, if we don't upload an image, it
27:51 will utilize this thumbnail that's getting served up from YouTube. It doesn't download that that image and store it in the CMS. It doesn't do that.
27:59 Okay? And it does show you that this is the YouTube thumbnail. Okay? And if you notice, there's a little there's still a little upload interface here. Hopefully, that gives you a clue that you can still
28:09 upload an image. Okay? So, let's go ahead. I'm going to go ahead and upload an image now. Uh, it's actually the same exact image. Okay. But now this is my
28:18 image and it now says poster because this is the poster image for this. Okay. And if you notice now that I hover over it, I got I get all the various image
28:28 works stuff. So I can actually use image works to load this image and you know do dynamic sizes and all kinds of stuff. Okay, just as you can with any other
28:36 image um in the CMS, you can do that with the poster. Okay, so yeah, I I think the interface here is really nice. Um, it supports many different
28:46 providers. Uh, let's go ahead and if we go into fields, um, video, uh, let's see here. It supports YouTube,
28:56 Vimeo, uh, a new one on on AppSumo called Livid, uh, which looks really nice. They're kind of like, uh, they're trying to scoop up all the ex Vimeo
29:04 users, people that are moving off Vimeo. Um, and it looks pretty nice. Um, so if you're interested in it, get looking at a decent, uh, video service, check out Livid. Um, and it's on AppSumo right
29:14 now. Um, Bunny is a popular CDN. Um, Cloudflare has a video service. Loom is uh like a very popular video screen
29:24 sharing um or kind of like help tool for businesses. Um, so that Wistia Pabio, which I know a lot of people in the
29:33 community use, it was on AppSumo many years ago. Um, I use it for some things, so I added support for that. Uh you can
29:41 load in just a generic file. Um and then unknown is if you put in something, it doesn't know what the heck it is. Okay. Um so yeah, it supports lots of
29:51 different services. Um so that yeah, we can load in that player. Now, how do how do we load the player? Um let's go ahead and look at the playground.
30:00 Um so here we go in the playground. Uh you will see actually let me go ahead and add my little cursor here. So this is Twig. Obviously, this is the Twig
30:08 playground. And you can just do CMS render video. And remember the ID that I added to that was called YouTube, right? So, let's go ahead and render that. And
30:18 there we go. We'll see that it rendered my poster image. It has a little play button on there. Okay. Now, what is really important here is when you use
30:26 the poster image, okay, what it does is it actually doesn't load the embed the actual video player on page load. Okay.
30:36 The reason for that is, as you probably know, one of the worst offenders for slowing down a web page besides large images are video embeds. Okay, so what
30:47 it does is when you actually uh load this page, it only loads your image with a little, you know, play button so people know that you have to play. Um,
30:55 and then you can click on this and what it does is it actually loads the video dynamically on click. So the player is loaded on
31:04 demand. Um, so that's really important. It's really great for performance and it's just super easy. All you need to do is just that. Okay. There's also a video
31:14 stack available as well. So you can just use the video stack um if you're not a twigger. Okay. So if you don't like the twig.
31:24 Okay. Uh so that's the new video um field inside total CMS. Um and yeah, I think it's pretty cool. I like it.
31:35 All right, let's have a gander. Let's let's see the the progress of of what AI is building for us. [snorts] Um, what's in the project now?
31:44 Foundation setup inside site styles. It said it created some some web fonts. It went it was a little lazy and it and it just injected some CSS for us. Okay. Um,
31:55 that's a little bit lazy. Uh, but we'll teach it some more stuff in the future. Uh, and then it has two columns with some markdown.
32:04 Okay, interesting. It didn't up it didn't change the content in there. Uh, one CSS stack holding all of that stuff
32:12 still to do. The containers exist. Oh. Oh, it reached my tool limit. Continue.
32:25 Interesting. when you use cloud code. Um, cloud code doesn't have limits like that. Um, so, oh, oh, look, it's actually starting to do stuff now. So,
32:33 that's kind of cool. There's some things if you notice like so it it just added this SVG in there in a markdown stack which is interesting.
32:42 Okay. Interesting choice. Um, but yeah, and but stuff like this is just hope you can see that it has the potential, right? Again, this is the very first
32:51 release. And look, it's it's updating all this content now. Wow, look at this. This is exciting. If this doesn't excite you, I don't know what what in the heck will because um the way I see this is
33:04 using AI to get us to 80%. Okay, within minutes. What would take us a day or two, it can now do it in 20 or 30
33:14 minutes, maybe an hour tops, right? And then what we do is we then take what it did and make our manual tweaks and whatnot. Okay. Um so yeah, super excited
33:23 there. Why the move from Vimeo for folks uh pricing? Um so actually Wolf uh posted a
33:33 um there's a post on the community on on the demise of Vimeo. Um so have a look at that on the community. I think uh Matias posted that today.
33:45 Chris is saying, "Yes." So, you know what? Chris actually on the hangout um he spent a little bit of time teaching Claude about swatches. Okay. And it did
33:54 it did better. I saw it on Friday. He did a good job. He actually uh I think it was a site for a lawyer client of his. He designed it and then he had
34:05 Claude design it immediately inside Stacks. Kind of similar workflow to what I'm doing right now. And I'd say I was blown away by the results. Um, I was and
34:16 I I have to admit I was kind of hoping that I would get the similar results here today. So, we'll see. I'm hoping um it's it's chugging away. So, I'm I'm I'm
34:24 optimistic. Um else I bow down to you, Chris, because you actually he actually did a beautiful job um with that with that site. And then again, once it's in
34:34 stacks, he just goes ahead and uh um makes his manual uh updates. [snorts]
34:43 One thing that that I see is very interesting is that um Claude is leveraging um the title fields in the stacks and it's adding little titles. Um
34:54 which is really interesting because I again I didn't instruct it to do any of this. So it's kind of figuring all this out on its own which is uh pretty exciting.
35:17 All right, let's continue on. Let's go ahead and let's see the next uh feature in Total CMS3. Um instead of us just sitting there watching Claw do its work
35:26 here. Okay. You know, interesting. I actually wasn't planning on doing like flopping between Total CMS3 and and that, but figured it's better than uh sitting there and watching Claw do its
35:35 thing for a little while. Okay. Um, all right. Next up, so we did the video field, the the more menu. Um, next up is
35:43 if we go inside schemas. Now, this is my test server. So, I have a lot of schemas. Okay, let me go ahead and uh
35:51 just All right. Uh, so I minimized some of those. But what I wanted to show you is um with 3.5 I added a lot of like
36:01 internal schemas uh that I use within Total CMS and it was making this built-in schemas list like kind of dirty
36:09 like it was it was messing it up. It wasn't clean. It was stuff that a lot of stuff that you probably don't ever care about. Okay. So I've I've added a I've
36:18 moved a lot of those under this internal group. I decided to leave them visible so you can actually see what what Total CMS is doing. Okay. So, there is use um
36:28 so you can mostly for a learning tool. Okay. Um but yeah, these these internal ones, they're kind of down here. They're they're probably nothing you should
36:37 actually ever use, but they're there if you want to have a look at them. Okay. And uh here's a little sneak peek down here. There's some SEO schemas down
36:45 here. Um that's another feature. I'm not sure that's really I I literally just finished that at like 3:00 a.m. this morning. So, um yeah, I haven't fully
36:54 tested that yet. Maybe I'll give you a sneak peek of what it is, but um that's still much a work in progress. Okay. Um but anyway, so schema's just been
37:03 cleaned up a little bit. So, this these built-in schemas now are kind of a little bit nicer to find if you if you wanted to look at those. Okay. Now um
37:12 another thing you should notice is there are two new uh schemas that you can leverage for podcasts. So now there is now a podcast schema and a podcast
37:21 episodes schema. Okay. And um I do have documentation on if you want to create a podcast how to do that. Okay. So you'd have to create two collections. you'd
37:32 create a collection for the main podcast show which has like your your show title, um your your artwork, you know, description about what your show is. Um
37:42 and then you'd have another collection that is all of the podcast episodes. Okay. And um yeah, if we want to look at that schema, um it has lots of stuff.
37:53 So, a lot of data that you kind of need for podcasts, right? Um and yeah, there we go. uh you can either drag and drop a file or give it a audio URL. Okay. And
38:04 all that's described in the docs if you want to create uh podcast and then u total CMS can also uh create your
38:13 podcast feed as well. So total CMS can now self-host an entire podcast. Um now obviously be careful with that. if
38:22 you're using um file uploads and serving those fi those audio files from your server, that could be a considerable amount of bandwidth. So, be careful of
38:32 that. Um you could get your hand slapped by your host. Okay? So, I do recommend um if your podcast is going to have more
38:40 than a couple hundred people listening to it, um then yeah, you definitely want to host that audio file um somewhere like Amazon S3 or something like that,
38:49 right? something that isn't going to eat up your hosting bandwidth. Okay. Um, so that is uh yeah, the main point
38:59 here was showing you that we can now do podcasts uh which is fun and reorganize the schemas. Man, lots of chat here. Let's let's go
39:08 through the chat. Um, Era, let's let's show a little bit of progress of what uh this is doing. Oh, I need to continue again.
39:16 That's a new thing. I don't remember seeing that before. That's kind of annoying. Okay. Um, let's see in the chat. So, total is 3 to five. Just got here. Uh,
39:27 why move from Vimeo? We'll not talk from Vimeo right now. Um, can you give us that skill? Oh. Uh. Oh,
39:37 does Chris, I don't know if Chris created a skill file for that. Um, I I am thinking of trying to create a skill for how to use stacks and and Foundation
39:47 and stuff. Um, yeah, that definitely is something that will be in the works 100%. Okay. Um, you know, an official
39:55 skill that you can install. Um, Chris, I I don't know if you've done one. I don't I don't think so. I think he was just kind of teaching it within his session. Uh, but let me know if I'm wrong with
40:04 that, Chris. [snorts] Oh, I guess Chris said he did have a basic skill. Okay, cool.
40:13 What tools did you use to teach it? Oh, excellent, man. Chris, I should I should have had you on here, Chris. My bad.
40:27 You know, for fun, let's go ahead and uh let's preview and see what the what the heck it's done so far for us.
40:35 Whoa, look at this, guys. Holy smokes. This page is all done in stacks now.
40:50 Boom. Voila. Right. Now, there's some work to do,
40:59 like uh obviously like the the there's some things that are a little bit different. This maybe this this column it could that could just be a width thing, though.
41:10 So, some things are slightly off. Look, it it got the pause there. Very interesting. Um, it has this pretty much spot-on.
41:21 Um, the Oh, this is should be underneath. Minor little things, right? But guys, while we were just talking it
41:29 up in in like 20 minutes, I I didn't I should have timed this, right? 15 20 minutes, it created this web page for us.
41:39 Pretty amazing. Really really really amazing. Like even these these styled sections here like with the little it it did like little circles like it's pretty
41:51 cool guys. Like how long would would this have taken you to build manually? Okay. Um
42:00 a whole lot longer, [laughter] right? Um so yeah, and again this is just the first release, right? So we can only get better from here. I'm super
42:10 excited about that. Okay. Um, but with that said, there's more stuff that we can do. That was like again, I jumped
42:18 into the deep end there, right? Let's go ahead and um [clears throat] let's open up See, I think this one.
42:30 Let's open up this one.
42:39 All right. Um
42:48 let's do something here. So let's go ahead and modify uh this uh this web page here. Okay. And in this in this project I just have a um this is just
42:58 the total CMS demo project for stack six. Okay. Um and uh
43:06 let's make sure that this previews. There we go. All right. So, um I'm going to go ahead and let's start a
43:15 new chat. I'm going to start a new chat. Okay. And let's do um Okay. Uh see this is my total CMS. Okay. Um in my
43:26 total CMS uh 3 uh project uh file that I have in stacks.
43:36 Can you add a small overview of what total CMS 3 is and uh why users should
43:53 uh use it for their websites. All right. So, um I'm adding I'm asking it to uh oh um
44:05 add this to the getting started page. All right. Now, throw throw it in a wrench. I'm actually going
44:14 to I'm going to just to show you I'm going to move to a different page. Now, I asked it to add it to that getting started page.
44:30 Uh, why not let Chris in? I I can't. Not with this uh how I built this stream. I can't let Chris in. I'm sorry. Um, yeah. Uh, not not current setup.
44:42 Else, I totally would. If I were if I were doing this on via Zoom or something like that, I totally just invite him in. Uh, I have no way to invite someone into
44:50 the how I have this normally this one-on-one stream. Okay. Sorry. But yeah, what what he did uh is uh very
45:01 similar to what I've done. Okay. Oh, yeah. Chris uh Chris uh he's saying
45:10 in the chat he actually taught it how to use folders and pens to to uh you know utilize those to organize the page. Um
45:19 yeah, that was cool. Um, okay. So, look, uh, it got it went ahead, it went to the getting started page, um, and yeah, not
45:27 only did it add a text stack to the page, which is simple, right? But and it added text. It it created copy for me
45:36 and added that added that text to the page. Wow. Pretty cool, right? Okay. Um,
45:48 let's see. Let me look at my notes of other things I needed to kind of show you guys. Um, all right. Let's find a complex page here.
45:58 Um, page that is
46:21 Hey, this isn't it doesn't look complex, but uh there's a couple things I want to ask I want to ask about this. Um all right. So, um
46:33 you help me uh help explain to me um what the stacks on the uh custom
46:45 collections All
47:02 right. So, I asked it to look at this page and just give me an overview of what this page is doing. Okay. Now, um
47:12 Oh, interesting. Uh, too large. Maximum size 1 megaby. Interesting. Tool result. Too large. Interesting. I wonder what it's going to do with that.
47:44 I thought this was going to be a little bit faster. Oh, it's investigating the loop grid. Okay, interesting. It's kind of fun. You guys can you we can watch what it's doing here. I don't know if you guys can see that, but it's
47:52 investigating this loop grid and seeing what the heck's going on in there.
48:12 Um, does it require credit when uploading? No. Um, you don't have to credit Claude or AI or anything. It it doesn't know because um yeah, it's Nope.
48:23 It's it it's just adding it's just adding these stacks to the page and updating the settings in, you know, um in the actual settings pane. So, um
48:31 there is no crediting of any sort of AI agent here. Um, yeah, it it should be
48:40 you you wouldn't be able to differentiate it whether or not Claude built it in stacks or if you built it in stacks. That's it. There there is no there is no way to do that. Good
48:48 question though, James. All right. Well, that's taking a little
48:57 bit longer than I thought, but interesting. Let's go ahead and um let me look at my my list here. Oh, okay. Um,
49:08 are you ready to Okay, total CMS users, be ready to have your minds blown. Okay, this is pretty cool. Okay, while while it's creating a little report for us here. All right, let's go into a
49:17 collection and let's go into Blog Pro. Okay, and um so, you know, a lot of times if you just want to make like, you know, you're
49:25 scanning around here and you're like, "Oh, you know what? I uh I I want to undraft this." And before what you'd have to do is you have to click inside the post and then you click on the draft
49:35 and then you can save it, right? Um but wouldn't it be nice if you could just edit directly from this table, right? So now what you can do is you can just
49:43 click on um this. You can make edits and you can save it. And that is now saved. You can go to the draft. Go ahead
49:54 and I can uncheck that. That is now no longer a draft. Oh, I messed up. Let's go ahead and make it a draft again. Right. Go ahead and change the date. We
50:03 have a date field. Click on the date. Whatever we want. Boom. Right. Uh you can change here's the author. What are the authors available? Boom. Okay.
50:13 Pretty awesome. So there's inline editing. Not every field like you can't edit images here. Um you can kind of you know simpler fields such as you know inline text um dates you know stuff like
50:24 that. So, a lot of a lot of fields uh you can edit them directly in the table now. Uh which is really really really
50:32 fun. Okay, that one that was actually here before I think I changed the date on it so it kind of moved. Um but yeah, pretty slick, right? Um so yeah. Oh, there it
50:42 is right there. Um so yeah, pretty cool. If I go into that, we'll now see that it has the new title. Pretty slick.
50:53 Okay. Uh it has a report here. So um here's what's on the page top to bottom uh in the folder uh product grid styles
51:01 in the from the start. I already even told you it's from the starter pack, right? Um I'm not going to read through all this, but it it essentially describes the page. The loop grid is the
51:12 heart of the page. It reads the products collection directly using preloaded data. Right? So this man this is really I didn't even think about this use case
51:21 until actually until I thought about this right now but like if you have a project file right a lot of times we'll buy a project file and sometimes they're just really
51:31 complex right and here's actually another thing I wanted to ask so um let's look at some of these
51:42 what's going on there. Oh, interesting. What the heck?
51:54 That could be a That could be a bug in stack six. Maybe me doing bad boy stuff.
52:05 I can't click on any of those. Interesting. That's my bug, by the way. Interesting.
52:22 Darn it. I'm not sure what stacks are. Okay. But my whole thing was I wanted to say um here's item grid hover button. I
52:32 I don't know what style that is, but it's it's doing something on hover, right? And so what I want to do is um
52:41 can you help uh help me find the swatch that um controls the
52:53 hover color on the buttons.
53:02 A lot of times it's like you, okay, so you you have a project file and you're like, what swatch is doing this? Where can I
53:10 find I I've seen it on Hangouts and stuff. People are like, where is this? Especially in project files that, you know, a very talented designer designed
53:19 them and organized it, but sometimes finding them is a little tricky. So I I I haven't done this. I don't know if this is going to work, but I'm hoping
53:28 it's going to tell me where to locate that. Now, um, sadly there is definitely some sort of bug that I can't I wonder if I
53:37 Oh, interesting. Okay, it was just a a bug with it was hidden. Okay, but just going changing pages brought it back. Okay,
53:51 it's inspecting. It's trying to find it. Interesting. Let's see. I see lots of stuff in the chat. Is Blogs Pro part of the total CMS collection? Uh, Blogs Pro
54:00 is just a custom collection that I created. Um, I just called it Blog Pro. Um, it's Yeah. Uh, there's nothing special about it. I don't remember why I
54:09 even called it Blog Pro. It doesn't look like it has anything special to it. Just me testing around. Okay. Um, there is nothing officially called Blog Pro. I
54:18 just happen to name my blog Blog Pro. [snorts] Um, probably because I have a I have one that's blog down here that's different. Again, what we're seeing here
54:28 is just test data. So, it's just a lot of gibberish and garbage. So, um I already had something called blog, so I called it blog pro. Yeah. Um there is
54:39 nothing officially called blog pro. Um now, um let's see what else is there. um
54:50 something uh I'm I'm not going to show it off, but I I've done a lot of work in the background for um AI to interact
54:59 with total CMS so that it creates better schemas uh and does things better. Okay, so I've been working a lot of of that in the background. I still have some
55:08 testing to do with that, but uh anyway, let's see what uh this did. So, there isn't one, not in this project. I checked everywhere the swatch could be
55:16 hiding.
55:25 Uh has a background stack. Yeah, it does. Maybe I uh All right, let's do um
55:41 uh I don't even know if this I'll be I'll be honest. I'm not sure if this project even works inside edit mode. Oh, there's or inside preview, I meant.
55:51 Uh, this is product overlay product link.
56:00 Where is Oh, there. And these Let me just see what these are doing. It does skew them.
56:18 All right. Um
56:29 I'm wondering if actually cuz it was um they were hidden before. I wonder if that now that I unhid it. I wonder if it can see them now. It'd be interesting to
56:37 see that. All right. Uh but it's uh animating uh them uh the um
56:47 product link button on hover.
56:58 Oh, this is on the custom collections page.
57:18 Oops. I wonder if I cancelled that that one here. What we're going to do is we're going to do that. We're going to we're going to edit the prompt.
57:27 This is on the custom collections page. All right. There we go.
57:37 Sorry, I was a little impatient. I shouldn't have stopped that earlier.
57:56 Oh, look. It found the transforms. I wonder if it was because because they were hidden before. Hm. Interesting. I'll have to play around with that some more. Found it.
58:04 It's the third the third transform plus stack
58:12 actually. Interesting. I'm going to say uh uh
58:21 when I hide the um product grid styles
58:29 [clears throat] swatches that are inside the uh product grid styles folder stack.
58:40 Can you still see the con uh the swatches inside
58:53 if you notice here guys like I you know a lot of people at least I do um I talk to AI like it's a person like I'm asking
59:02 hey uh oh uh and they are all they are already are hidden both pens and fold okay so it can see them um it just before maybe I didn't word what I wanted
59:12 properly. So, it said it says that it can still see them uh even though they're hidden. So, there we go. Now, we know. Okay. But if you look here, it even it goes
59:23 through those swatches and it tells us everything that those swatches do. So, it analyzes the settings of those three swatches. It said here, this one is on
59:32 hover. Uh these ones do the move and the scale and the rotate. Like crazy, right? Um, and you could
59:40 probably even do like, hey, can you uh can you tweak that animation and make it, you know, something different, right? Um, so really exciting stuff.
59:56 Oh, here's an So, here's another idea that I had. Okay. Um, so let's say um
60:05 All right. Okay, I want I'm on the getting started page and um I'm going to go ahead and do uh
60:14 we're going to open up the library here. Uh and then we're going to find uh by the way guys um as long as the library
60:22 is open um if you do shift command F that takes you to find. Okay. Um so then you can do uh let's find agent.
60:32 agent. There's something I wanted to test out. So, let's do um let's do that.
60:46 All right. So, um inside agent, uh we're going to create a language rule for English
60:54 or or we're going to do a a rule for Spanish or actually here. Yeah. We're going to do German. Now, I have no clue how this
61:04 is going to do it, but okay. Let's do this. Okay. So, what I want to do is I want to have So, here I have agent, and this is
61:14 going to be my German language, and this is my default in English. I I'm going to have Claude translate this paragraph for me.
61:23 Okay, [snorts] so let's do that. Okay. So, um [clears throat] on the getting started page, um I have a
61:33 um agent uh lang rule um to uh let's just keep it
61:41 simple. Uh can you translate the uh German uh rule content for me
61:52 into German?
62:24 What model are do you using, Claude? Uh, right now I'm using Opus. Um, Opus 5, so I'm not even using Fable right now. Um,
62:32 just Opus. Found it.
62:48 Do you want me to write this? Uh, yes.
63:02 Look at that. That's so cool. Okay, I'm going to Okay, let's let's do this even more. Uh, okay. So, um,
63:10 awesome. Uh, can you add, um, laying rules for the, um, rest of the content
63:20 on, uh, the on this page. Um,
63:28 translate to German and the default should be English.
63:39 Hey. Yes, exactly. This is where Matias tells us is that German's correct. How's that
63:48 German, Matias? All right. So, what I asked it to do is now we have this text block here and this text block down here and it should
63:56 do agent lang rules for all of it. Let's see.
64:33 I added the lang rule. It set. Oh, look at that. Boom.
64:54 Added the second one. Added the stack. It's translating to German.
65:08 Oh, it even did the button. Boom. Check that out, guys. Like, come
65:20 on. What? That's crazy. Awesome. It It added all the language rules for me, translated
65:29 the content, set everything up just right. It went into the language rule, it changed the language to German. I didn't do that. The German is not the
65:37 default value, right? So, it did all of that for us. It's pretty amazing.
65:56 How is it doing in designing the site to look good on all devices? Um, well, I'm sure uh that's again that's probably something that we'll well let's look at
66:05 this one. Let's see how it did on this one. Um, so here here's the page and as it
66:14 responds decent, right? I mean, so looks looks okay on responsive
66:24 as we go up to tablet. I I think I think that's pretty acceptable there, Dr. Bob. Right. Obviously, there's going to be some tweaks where you're like, "Oh,
66:32 yeah. I want this a little bit." But that's the power of having everything in stacks that we all know because then you can just go into here and you can adjust your splits,
66:41 right? Super powerful. As you see here, it it used the total or the total CMS the foundation 6 uh layout stacks. Um
66:52 really powerful. I I'm absolutely amazed at uh at what we're doing here. Um I think it's going to be gamechanging for
67:00 all of us. So anyway, um, okay guys, I think, uh, I think we rolled the dice enough. I think we've played hopefully
67:09 you got a a little glimpse of what's coming, right? Uh, and things that we can do. I What's coming? It's what's here already, right? Um, you can go get
67:18 the the beta download. Uh, oh, here, let me share really quick before we leave. A lot of you could be stuck on beta 48 or
67:27 47. I don't remember what it was. And if you want to get this version, open up your stack settings and then go to the developer tab and check this guy right
67:36 here. This uh developer beta updates. Check that and that will allow you to upgrade to beta 66 which has um all the
67:46 AI stuff that you saw today. Okay, so it is live. You can play with this right now. Um, and yeah, and a little birdie told me that the next uh the next uh
67:57 update will have uh a little bit of improvements here, but he's been focusing a lot on the publishing aspect. So, some really cool stuff there. Um,
68:06 and yeah, can't wait for you guys to play with that because that's uh definitely we need good safe publishing
68:14 uh reliable publishing and uh I may have played with it a little bit already and uh pretty cool. It's got some nice features. Okay. So, um, excellent.
68:24 [clears throat] Excellent. James, it look it looks like you're you're like I think, you know, I think this will is a game changer for you, James, right? And and users like
68:34 you that are um, you know, I think helping you get from zero to 80%, and maybe 80% is is good enough, right? But,
68:43 uh, I think it's going to be gamechanging for for a lot of people, including you, James. Um, so yeah, let's see. Joe, uh, when you have time, please look at Weaver Space. I have
68:52 demonstrated it is not hosting. Oh, okay. Uh, Fernando, yeah, we'll we'll talk about you uh um your hosting issue.
69:01 Um, okay, cool, guys. Thank you very much. I hope you have a great rest of your week. Um, go out there and make something great this week and hopefully we'll see you on Friday at the Hangouts.
69:11 Um, basically, uh, one hour from right now, but on Friday. Uh, and I'm sure Chris will be there if you want to see his awesome workflow and how he's using
