00:01 really excited to introduce you to
00:03 traffic control
00:04 it's a new smart url redirecting and
00:07 routing tool
00:09 now what does that mean it allows you to
00:11 dynamically create urls that actually
00:13 don't exist in your project
00:15 let's jump in and have a look so let's
00:17 go ahead and look at the traffic control
00:19 demo what you'll notice here is there
00:21 are two urls in this demo
00:23 here we have weaver space traffic
00:25 control test
00:26 and weaver space traffic control csv
00:29 sample now neither of these urls
00:32 actually exist on my server they don't
00:34 the folders and web pages for these
00:36 don't exist they're all managed by
00:39 traffic control now when i click on this
00:41 first link what it will do is traffic
00:43 control redirects it to the actual
00:45 traffic control product page
00:49 now next one is it actually redirects us
00:51 to a download so that when i click on
00:54 this link
00:57 so here is the sample csv that gets
00:59 downloaded when i click on that link
01:02 you also while we're here you also
01:03 notice that inside this demo
01:05 traffic control can actually give us
01:07 great route reports so we can see
01:09 exactly how many times a particular
01:12 route has been visited
01:14 per day
01:15 now let's have a look at the
01:16 implementation of traffic control
01:18 essentially you need to create a
01:19 dedicated page just for traffic control
01:22 and then inside there you can actually
01:24 add as many different routes as you want
01:28 and when you publish all those routes
01:29 will be dynamically available on your
01:32 website
01:33 and we'll notice inside each route you
01:35 can have your specific route url
01:37 a destination you can also expire the
01:41 links based on date
01:42 number of visits or any combination of
01:45 those
01:46 so there's so many use cases to use
01:48 traffic control
01:49 first off do you hate using your
01:52 htaccess file i mean traffic control
01:54 takes care of a lot of the annoying
01:56 aspects of htaccess handling redirects
01:59 imports dynamic urls so yeah traffic
02:03 control if you hate hd access that is a
02:06 perfect use case and if you're setting
02:08 up lots of redirects the csv import
02:11 utility is a great feature because you
02:14 can easily create as many redirects as
02:16 you want inside of a csv file and
02:19 traffic control will import that all
02:22 those routes for you instantly next you
02:24 essentially get to create your own
02:26 custom url shortener
02:28 everything is hosted on your domain and
02:31 you can link off to whatever you want
02:32 whether or not it's a file download
02:35 whether or not it's affiliate links
02:37 affiliate links is a great use case for
02:39 traffic control
02:41 it's hard to remember what these
02:42 affiliate links and maybe some file you
02:44 know file download urls are but we can
02:47 easily set up urls such as mydomain.com
02:51 refer slash
02:53 my favorite service right and that would
02:56 actually be an affiliate link to that
02:59 service so that you can get credit right
03:01 but those affiliate links are hard to
03:02 remember so we with traffic control we
03:05 can actually create more memorable urls
03:08 so we can easily give them and pass them
03:10 out to people
03:12 next the ability to actually expire
03:14 these links maybe you want to have a
03:15 file download that expires after a
03:18 certain date or you want to have let's
03:20 say a black friday sale and you want
03:22 that page to expire or links to that
03:24 page to expire the day after the sale is
03:26 over
03:27 with the expiration tools built into
03:29 traffic control all of that is possible
03:32 and last but not least the a b testing
03:34 ability within traffic control is
03:36 awesome this is a great tool to
03:38 dynamically route your visitors to
03:41 potentially multiple different urls to
03:44 test against
