Stacks Guru is born from the need to search the vast number of videos out there on stacks built for Stacks Pro and the Stacks 5 plugin for Rapidweaver.
We have scraped over 500 videos to get the transcripts for each in order to make the spoken word searchable.
Please use this free tool to help you learn and discover the awesome power that Stacks and the stacks made for Stacks have to offer.
It's been a long time since we had a Wednesday hangout. We have a lot of cool stuff going on: Stacks 6, Total CMS 3.6, Foundation 7 in development, and my upcoming PostOnly app (everything that comes today will get a beta invite). But it's not just from me, Josh and Jochen on the community have been releasing so many great things for us. Join us live on Zoom and see all the new and exciting things. Bring your questions and we will be happy to help you out.
00:11 Okay, there we go. We're live. >> All right, Chris, go. >> Go, Chris. What's up? So, I've got I
00:22 don't know if it's a stack app thing or if it's a Foundation 6 thing or a combination of both. A healthy combination. Um I'm converting a
00:32 >> Chris thing. Yeah, >> it could be a me. Hey, dude. That never off table. In fact, that should be the very first thing we think of. [laughter]
00:41 >> What do you say? It's the problem between the brain and the seat or whatever it is. >> Pedacle between keyboard and chair. There we go.
00:50 There we go. That's like That's up there with my uh favorite error code, ID10T. >> Yeah. [laughter]
00:58 >> Gotta love those IDT10 errors. >> I get a lot of those. >> Oh, yeah. Every damn day. Um, okay. Let me let me share my screen just so I can
01:09 see what I'm what I'm seeing. All right. So, okay.
01:17 Do that. Um, as he walks away, typical >> my fan. [laughter]
01:27 I was getting hot. >> I know, dude. Mine is Mine's blowing 24/7 over here. Like, it's Thank God today's high is only 91. Tomorrow is 84,
01:38 I think. >> Yeah. Yeah. Rain is coming in. >> Yes, it is. We're preparing for it today. I have a I have an eyeglass appointment at at 4. So hope get out
01:47 before then because they're seen >> some flash flood stuff in Texas, right? >> Yeah. Yeah. Or is that Arizona? I don't I don't remember where I >> No, it's Well, probably both, but we we
01:55 definitely have flashing. >> It's a real problem here. >> Okay, so this is my homepage. And if I and I got a couple things to show you
02:04 actually. Um if I, you know, preview it gives me this. Okay. Yeah, I know that there's something wrong with total CMS uh like a total CMS3 something
02:12 somewhere. But the fun part is if I go to this page and I preview, >> give it a sec.
02:21 >> It works. It its >> same it's the same menu on both pages and both have
02:30 >> a [clears throat] layout they're using. So I have the homepage and I have the subpage. >> Okay. >> Are are both those pages using the same layout? No, the
02:39 >> Did you preview both layouts? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> So, >> prove it. >> All right. >> If I
02:51 say [laughter] now, if I >> Dude,
03:00 >> Joe, I love your classroom decorum. [laughter] >> Yeah, I know, right? All right. So, if I [clears throat] cut this out, if I cut out the uh the
03:11 navigation and I go back to preview or to the homepage. Give it a sec. There we go. So, it
03:20 previews. It works right now. >> I I actually just read that error. Okay. So, it's a twig error. >> Yes. Well, that it won't show anymore.
03:28 That was it stacks app so things flicker and stay in memory and and don't go until So that was from before. >> Now if I go in in here and I put in the
03:39 um navigation again. >> So here's the navigation again. >> Mhm. >> And I preview
03:48 navigation works. I can see my navigation. So what's fun is H. Stop flickering, dude.
03:59 What's fun is I have the navigation in this layout down here. It's the same navigation. I I just copy and pasted
04:08 this one into that and it it works here. So, I can preview here
04:16 and it's just fine. >> Mhm. >> But if I do this one Oh, navigation's not in here anymore,
04:26 but I don't know what this is previewing if I'm being honest. >> Layouts seem to always preview the homepage, I'm guessing. >> I think I think when you go to the
04:35 layout, it always does home. It didn't used to do that. I think you changed something. >> Um before it used to just have like a generic purple your content is here
04:43 block. >> Yeah. >> Um and I think you changed that to be the homepage, which doesn't make sense because what if you build a layout that isn't meant to be for the homepage, but >> like all of my subpages.
04:52 >> Yeah. >> Hence the subpage comment. All right. So, so basically what I'm saying is this layout which is I'm using the blog
05:01 as the blog page as an example has the navigation in it. Same navigation, same site top, uh same footer
05:09 and the only thing difference is the subpage banner which okay. But if I go to the homepage layout and I put the navigation in here, it breaks
05:19 the page. But if I have the homepage with just the navigation on it, it works. So again, I don't know if that's a Stax app error, if that's a F6 error.
05:29 >> I know you you you've been clicking and and pasting and previewing so fast. I I kind of lost track of exactly what >> scenario breaks it.
05:38 >> Okay. Right now the navigation is in is on the homepage, the actual page. >> Okay. >> If I preview >> it works. >> It works.
05:47 >> Okay. >> Okay. If I take this navigation. Oh my god.
05:56 All right. If I take the navigation and I cut it and I go to my homepage layout and I
06:04 paste it. Let's see if I paste it here. I paste it in here. >> Uhhuh. >> It's all I've done. >> Okay.
06:13 >> I go back to my homepage. >> Hold on. Preview that layout. >> Okay. I'll preview the layout. Got to click on the layout. >> Yeah.
06:30 >> Hold on. Stop working. >> Dude, if this works, I'm going to be so pissed off.
06:38 I've been previewing back and forth. Yeah, there we go. Okay, so now it does this. So, there's your Right. So,
06:47 All
07:04 right. Uh, it could be I'd have to look into that and try to replicate it. Um,
07:15 >> what happens if you click on check and debugger? Does it like >> Oh, it's it's in here. It won't do it. Oh, maybe it does. Okay. Wow. That
07:23 you're like the magic whatever. >> Uh, click on check file. >> Interesting.
07:32 >> Could it be because it's in preview? Oh, wait. Let's >> see.
07:47 Okay. Darn. >> I mean, I can preview this in the browser.
07:58 >> Supposed to do it in the browser. >> Maybe. >> Oh, not found in there. >> Maybe we'll get lucky
08:06 >> here. Go to stacks. >> Oh, wait a minute. >> Change it again. No. Okay, good. I was gonna say
08:15 >> go to view, show preview folder. >> Okay. And then, um, open up the
08:24 index.php in VS Code or whatever.
08:33 And let's look at that error. So, we could try to find the line. That is the offending.
08:42 Go back to the error that's in preview. That the twig error
08:53 >> says line 185, but let we'll start at line 185.
09:05 It's definitely not there.
09:17 Hey, just scroll up slowly. Let's see if we could find anything that's like Ah, there's a something stupid
09:29 that that that's fine.
09:41 has to do with the menu, right? Because it's only when it's the menu. So, find something that is in the menu. >> Okay.
09:51 >> Search for something. >> Know what would be in the menu? Oh, perfect. Okay. Sweet. Does the menu have twig?
10:02 Yes, it has a Well, yes, that that whole thing has um a loop.
10:10 >> Uh can you show me the menu again >> and stacks? >> Yeah,
10:24 >> flicker Mc Flickerson. So, I got I just have this loop filter or loop deck and all. That's pretty much it except for down here
10:34 our attorneys. I have this loop collection. >> Got it. You're creating sub menus. >> Yeah. >> Okay.
10:48 >> All right. Let's go back to the the code. So, let's find those. Uh oh, it looks like it's right there, right?
10:58 >> Ah, I think I know what the problem is now. >> Okay.
11:08 Well, these sub menus are not twig. These are actually like these are built in. I I did them manually. >> Hold on. Let that was the loop collection stack
11:17 >> uh up here. >> Hold on. Stop scrolling. You were exactly where I needed to be. >> Oh, >> right there. Stop. And that was the loop collection stack
11:27 >> for which part? >> Uh the loop in your menu in stacks. >> Yeah, I know. But what are you? >> Okay. I just wanted to verify because I'm going to go look at the code for
11:36 that stack. >> Well, you're look what are you looking at? What What are you looking at right now? >> I'm I'm looking at setst stacks_in_lcom.u.
11:45 I think that_224 is messing us up. >> Oh, okay. This is child friendly. I almost messed up.
11:55 [laughter] [laughter] >> Keep it clean. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. [snorts]
12:05 >> Leave that stuff for the Friday hangouts. >> Yeah. It's Friday when [laughter] the old when all the old men are around. [snorts]
12:13 >> I don't know. I saw a geyser come in earlier. He He's got the t-shirt to prove it. Oh, he left.
12:22 cuz just these are not uh loops. These like appeals the drop is drop down is drop down is drop down.
12:31 None of these are loops. The it the loop is going to be unless you see it or I
12:39 don't. >> Sorry, I'm looking at the code right now. One second. 100%. That that is Yeah. Um,
12:49 so yeah. Uh, is it is it a bug? I'm going to call it Isaiah did something that that is messing us up that works on
12:58 a page but doesn't work in a layout. So, I will um let me let me make a note of this so I can talk to him about this. >> Can can I give you some more context
13:07 before you do it >> because this is interesting. This same, like I said, this same menu is in this subpage layout and it works just fine.
13:19 >> The same exact menu. >> Same exact menu. So, I will take this menu. I will copy it. I will go to this
13:27 layout. I will delete that and paste.
13:35 Make sure it's okay. So, here's here's that menu. I'll preview it just for fun.
13:43 And we're previewed. And I will go to my page here. That that subpage thing. This is that subpage layout on the blog. When
13:52 I preview, it works. So the menu works. You notice there's no menu in here. So
14:01 if I go to home and I preview it gives me that, then it breaks the page. So it's And here's another thing. This is
14:09 the context. If if I'm on this subpage, let's say I want to make this the the default. If I right click, I can't make it default.
14:18 >> Okay. So, what else is on this pa on the homepage that is breaking it? Um SEO helper >> possibly. >> Um I'm just kind of guessing at
14:28 >> but if I take if I take the menu out, it works. >> Yeah, >> that so that's just the thing. But look, just for you >> as right now, I think I think from here
14:38 we we just need to isolate and try to really figure out what it is. >> And that's fair. Yeah, that's cool. >> Um >> um yeah,
14:48 >> for you on the remember I told you that folders like this is the folder. When I double click it collapses like that. Look at this. If I have other sub or
14:58 other layouts, folder works just fine. So >> may maybe we can hop on a Zoom tomorrow sometime and we can uh hash this out.
15:08 >> That's fine. I just Yeah, I figured I'd show it to you. I would I didn't want to monopolize. >> So carry on.
15:17 >> The g the geyser's back [laughter] muffin.
15:27 >> Chris, I solved your problem 10 minutes ago. If you'd like to know what the solution is. Absolutely. >> Yeah. You've used honest and lawyer in the same sentence. It's going to blow
15:36 up. [laughter] >> Fair enough. [laughter] >> That's a That's a good point.
15:51 [clears throat] >> Yeah. I've got my geyser hat. >> Oh, nice. [laughter]
16:01 Joe, did you have the chance to test the markdown field? >> I have not yet. I'm very sorry. >> No problem. [clears throat]
16:10 I I Yeah. Even got in a little trouble with the misses for working a little bit too much lately. [clears throat and laughter]
16:25 >> How's everyone else doing? Anyone else have any other uh questions or >> No, everybody just go check out docbob.com.
16:34 >> Oh, yeah. [laughter] Give us a tour, Bob. Why don't Why don't you give us a tour and tell us uh tell us what you've been doing. >> All right, hang on a second. Let me uh
16:43 let me get it up and running here. Let me actually open up a different window.
16:56 new window. >> Okay. So, it's that layout. I just created a brand
17:05 new layout and added the navigation to it. Set it to like home layout and it works. >> So, it's that default layout that that's
17:15 created for us. >> Interesting. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Don't delete that. Let's we'll we'll look at that in more detail tomorrow. >> Yeah. So, yeah, FYI.
17:24 >> Cool. >> All right. Let's see. Let me share desktop five.
17:34 Share. All right. So, this is my new dogb.com website.
17:43 So, it's so I've just got tons and tons and tons of information on on here. I built it to be a real education site for for people.
17:54 So, I've got the homepage. Um [clears throat] I've got stuff about um
18:02 what's going on here? Oh, then I got a whole, you know, web solutions page here. Advertising stuff.
18:13 and how we do it. Um, and then if somebody want and I got okay, I got tie into Joshua also down
18:24 here. And then we have examples of websites that people can click on to see the portfolio. Um,
18:33 uh, and then I've got it set up now so that I'll show you in a bit. I've got a portal that the customers can log into.
18:43 This is just explaining the portal and I have, you know, my services page to go through all my different services and
18:51 stuff. Um, this protection page, I've got a bunch of stuff about, you know, buyers and stuff since a lot of my
18:59 customers are support customers. So, I've got all sorts of stuff in here for that. this these latest breaches. This
19:07 this is downloading all the time and and every day I can go in and update from my collection which ones I want showing. So, I'm getting all the latest threats
19:18 and other things out there for people. And then I've got a scammer payback page so that people can come in and watch the latest v videos from scammer payback.
19:29 >> I love that guy. >> Yeah, I do too. And then I put together a whole bunch of help guides. Whether you're on Mac or PC, you can choose and
19:37 stuff. I got help guides for for doing things. So, um, uh, things like this, you know, where there's information on
19:47 how to spot scams and protect yourself from scams. Then we got our about pages for, you know, for me and for we got one
19:57 for Joshua, too, you know. And then and then I've got links to his some of his pages on there so people can see. But
20:06 back on here, I got a client portal and um if I go into my side of it,
20:21 so I can get into this, but nobody else can. But then I've got this portal. Um, this allows me to come
20:31 in here and um enter my jobs that I'm working on for for customers and stuff. Um, and so I can come in here and do um
20:43 uh oh, like something like this. I can open up a a job. So I have ability to come in here and and determine, you know, where's the job being done um
20:53 on-site, in-house, whatever. um because I've chosen that customer, it has his office locations or mine depend and I
21:03 log my time and stuff, but then it puts all of my notes in down here so I can keep notes and then it'll generate a PDF
21:12 that I can send to the customer that details all of my notes. And then there's a um let's see, let me
21:22 This is okay. Um, but then there's also um, you know, I can then send it to the client.
21:32 Um, you know, I can send that to a client. But then let's see what else I have here. Let me go back here.
21:41 Um, I've got a client message section here. So, when the client is logged in on
21:49 their portal, they can send me messages and then I'll get alerted to the messages and stuff and so I can then respond to them. So, we have our own little chat system built built in here
21:59 with the consoles. Um, and these are all just things where I can browse the companies and stuff. I have one customer here um that minister that I do stuff
22:09 with that we sending out stuff all the time. Um, and I have a special portal for them because we're sending in all these Cindy reports and this thing will
22:19 bring automatically brings in the CI reports from from CNI and then it will generate um reports like this about the
22:29 CI campaigns so that they can come in and and look at, you know, what's been going on with their with their Cindy campaigns. Um, and there's a bunch of
22:38 different reports. So there's like readership over time reports and um just a bunch of different uh different reports that they need. Um
22:49 uh person profile. This actually shows for each member each person in their list exactly how much they've been doing, you
22:59 know, in the in the reports and stuff, what their activity is and stuff. So anyway, so that's that kind of stuff I've got in there. Now, if I go to let's
23:10 see, let me get back and let me actually
23:23 let me log out. Let me log in as somebody else. Let's see. Do I have
23:34 Let me log into like John at
23:48 uh let me look up his steel here. One second. Can't remember what password I've set for him. So,
24:05 let's see. Yeah. One sec. Oh, wait.
24:17 Where's my second?
24:32 Oh, come on.
24:53 All right.
25:03 All right. So, this is the customer portal where I'm actually building a website for him. So when he logs in, um, this is what he sees. And so then
25:14 he's able to come in here, click on on the page that's that one of the pages that we're working on, and it will show
25:23 him the page. And then he can come in here and click on it, leave me a note, um, and, uh,
25:33 you know, whatever he wants to say. >> Yeah. and send me a note and then that note
25:42 comes up that will note will come over here and that comes to me and so we can interact and and I can then deal with all of the things that he wants me to
25:51 change and I can then update the page and put up a a version two and any notes
25:59 that I have not um dealt with. So with the note system, I have I can state whether I'm working on it, whether it's been completed or
26:09 whatever. He gets notified of that. And anything that's been completed in version two of the page um is gone from the page, but any of them that I haven't
26:19 touched are are brought back up on version two automatically and then repositioned automatically to the point they're supposed to be at in case the
26:28 change changed something. >> Interesting. on the on the page. Um, >> isn't that a service that does that little review thing
26:38 or >> a ser? Yeah. >> Isn't that like a Was that like an AppSumo deal? I think I remember seeing something similar in >> No, no, no, no, no, no. I This is all built by me.
26:47 >> Oh, really? Oh, wow. >> Yeah, this is all This is all built by me. No, there's no third party services in here. So then for so for every page
26:56 they get to see what the mockup looks like, make whatever comments they want. And so we're just we're totally built into working through my website and not
27:06 using any other thirdparty things like craft or whatever. All of this is done directly within here with direct communication and they can upload they
27:15 can upload stuff to me. Um so in the messages and stuff um um you know they can you know I have a place for them to
27:25 then uh respond to me. I can tell send them a message saying I need this this and this and there's a place for them to upload those files to me and a place for me to get them and we just go through
27:35 this thing until until we have it all bu all built. So that's that's the way I've set this up. So, um yeah. So, that is
27:45 the uh that's the dogb.com site and um there's going to be um let me stop
27:53 sharing. There's one thing I haven't put into the site yet that that is planned. I have a um um a glossery of computer
28:05 terms. It's a whole big old glossery that goes way back in time to the early beginning. So there's lots of old terms in there that a lot of kids and people don't know about. So that's in there as
28:14 just a lookup tool, but I'm turning it into a I'm turning it into a game so that you'll be able to come to the website and do a challenge. And what
28:24 it'll do is it'll present 10 at random 10 um terms to you with potential definitions and then you choose which
28:32 one, you know, which what the proper meaning is and it scores you as to whether you're right or wrong. And if you get all of them right, it's timed
28:40 you and so it'll be a leaderboard so that you can actually sign in, give yourself a nickname, and it'll and for everybody who's completed successfully,
28:49 it'll get tell the time so people can challenge on these random tests, they can challenge other people about how fast they are and understand computer
28:58 terms. [laughter] >> Yeah. [clears throat] So that's what I've been playing with
29:07 except for except I'm rebuilding my my AMRP website right now. I'm just about to go into clog code with it. I've got all of the design done. It's gorgeous.
29:18 Oh god, it's going to be so good. >> Nice. >> What I really like is that, you know, I have the old site, so there's a lot of stuff there, but there's a lot of
29:26 features that I hadn't yet implemented yet that I'd been thinking about. And then as I described to Claude what I was doing and some of the things I wanted,
29:36 it built these pages, designed these pages and added in features that I had even thought about yet. I mean, you know, it put this stuff up and came up
29:46 with these ideas. Holy crap, that's good. I That's a really slick thing. [clears throat] So, so yeah, it's going to be so cool
29:54 because not only will the people not only will we be advertising all of the business members in the group, but each
30:03 one will have their own personal profile page and that'll show all of the all of the testimonials they've gotten and stuff. But, um,
30:12 it it and and then it shows all of their, you know, attendance records and, you know, all that kind of stuff. But there's also now an event calendar. So
30:22 when they have an event that they're involved in, some nonprofit event or something like that or charity or whatever, they can advertise that. >> But they can also advertise their
30:31 specials. So, if they have business specials, those will show up on the calendar, but they'll also show up on their profile page so that when the
30:42 public comes and looks at the list of all of the members, there will be a flag there on their card saying, you know, that they have a special running and the
30:51 person and the public can click on that and get the details and stuff. So, yeah, it's coming along. I hope to have it up and running in just a couple of
31:02 hopefully by the weekend. I don't know how long it's going to take on the pod code build, but I'll be working on that today. >> It's amazing what we're what people are
31:11 able to build now. >> Yeah, it's it's crazy. >> Gary, how's your adventures? Have you
31:20 been making much uh progress on your air traffic control thing or or any of the other >> Yeah. One say I was at um funny enough I was at um say the ham radio rally last
31:30 weekend Friday Saturday and um there's a guy around the other side um it was actually developing a sort of a standard line about the size of a small Amazon
31:38 Echo almost doing exactly the same thing. So, um, I went over and gave him a few pointers, you know, but [laughter] I got the aircraft. I mean, the way a
31:48 radar screen shows normally, you've got the aircraft, you have history dots after it, so you can see where it's been, you can see the trend, but you can select a leader line so you can see where it's going to be in 2 minutes, 5
31:57 minutes time, so you can work out if there's any conflictions. But he got a leader line, but he hadn't got any history dots. So, I looked at it, it looks like they're all flying backwards, you know, to me. But, uh, yeah, that was
32:07 interesting. But um I didn't spend any money which is a which is the good thing. There's nothing I I needed. >> Oh wow. [laughter]
32:16 >> Working with Jocken is Yan. He's not on is he at the moment on his Prea app. >> Um but um I'm struggling a bit with
32:25 that. Um >> I think it's because I've got um I'm setting it up on Servebay. So I've got a a directory in applications folder under Servebay and initially
32:34 >> it wouldn't preview. I mean the way it works is I mean you do your normal stacks preview and of course it generates that sort of temporary um TCMS
32:43 file >> but his app allows you to direct it to one you're using. So, you can do previews when you're working in stacks and you're looking at the proper TCMS uh
32:52 directory that you've got on your computer, which works fine. Um, but I just can't get the admin page to run, you know. >> Um, but again, you don't know if it's
33:01 stacks or whether it's press, you know, whether it's my setup. I mean, the the license has run out on that, but I can still see my custom admin page in
33:10 preview in stacks using the proper TCMS data. And obviously it won't save. But when I try to go to the dashboard, you know, you can you can do the dashboard
33:18 preview and stacks by itself and that's fine. It says set for new projects. But then when you go to press Yan's device, it just shows either it just shows the
33:26 homepage funny enough. Defaults the homepage or it just shows a blank screen. So but he's he's probably gardening because um I haven't had a you know I pestered him with four or five
33:35 emails in a day and he gets away and thinks about it I think. So, he's probably just >> Yeah, I don't know what he's doing in the background to make that magic happen.
33:44 So, um yeah, >> I can't help you. I have no clue what he's doing. >> No, it it could be a stacks thing. It could be the license having expired. Um
33:54 it could be his thing. I don't know. So, there's a lot of variables there. >> I wait until somebody else complains and he might uh >> he's he's usually pretty good. and he sends I get his stuff and I uh I try and
34:05 do stuff it doesn't work and then you we have a bit of backs and forwards and usually you can get it running but there's some clever stuff going on there.
34:19 Yeah, my wife's up with her mother um at the moment stopping overnight. So, hence I'm home alone, hence I'm I'm here. >> Oh, nice. Nice. [laughter] normally, you know, this is sort of sitting down in
34:28 front of the television time that's, you know, bit of social time rather than you've been sitting on the computer all day long. [laughter] >> You know what it's like.
34:42 So Joe, you ask um if it override if it's in the root folder. So I I build it to test it now. Um let's show it.
34:56 So well so that's a page. So uh blue and here color blue.
35:05 Yeah. So the next one is show it here. Um it's a new folder. Yeah. And um color is
35:16 red. So it looks like this. >> Mhm. And um this is the root side uh color is
35:25 yellow and it looks yellow. And now if I you you see the side. >> Yes. >> The browser. Okay. So it's yellow here
35:37 and yellow there. Here it's blue. >> Mhm. >> This is red and this is yellow and this is yellow. >> But if you start on the homepage, so the
35:46 homepage is blue. >> Mhm. publish blue, red, and blue because not yellow. So, >> all I see is is is stacks. Um,
35:56 >> and if you look here, >> I don't see what you're >> Oh, you don't see Oh, that was was a question. >> Sorry. Yeah, I'm sorry. I only see stacks.
36:05 >> Let me show you the the whole screen then. Uh, >> so >> um, got it. Okay.
36:13 >> It's it's blue, >> red, and blue again because it's not yellow. >> Okay. >> Um and if you start the yellow page
36:23 >> example, can can you send me that project? >> Yes. Wait, we'll show it. >> Or or would you like to file the bug uh the bug for Isaiah? It's up to you.
36:32 >> I I I give you the um I build it with my stack, but I give it you. It's this one here. Um that says S stuff. You You can
36:41 have it. Um all right. Yeah, I will send it you. >> Okay, perfect. >> While the community here
36:50 um [clears throat] okay,
37:08 >> did you get a haircut, Joe? >> I did. Yeah, I got one yesterday. >> That's good. >> Looking sharp.
37:16 >> So, last night I Well, the past few days I've been working on the TotalCass website and updating its design and working on SEO
37:26 and all that jazz. And um hey, go check it out totalcs.co. I think it's looking pretty sharp. Uh I'm pretty much done with the design.
37:36 I'm happy with it. The homepage was always done before, but everything other than the homepage looked like it was AI driven or AI created. So, um yeah, it no
37:46 longer has that AI generated look anymore. So, um I'm pretty happy with it. Um but on the SEO part, one thing I was
37:55 um I I really wanted to try to work on is like how do I like how do I get chats or AI in general to recommend Total CMS?
38:06 So, um, what I did was I I worked with Claude and we I wrote a script that connected to the API of ChatgPT, Gemini,
38:16 Claude, and Perplexity. Now, I'm using the API because if I log into my account, it's going to use my memory and it's going to know that I'm a total CMS
38:25 guy and it's going to recommend it, right? And I don't want that. I want plain vanilla. What is the average person going to get? So um used the API
38:36 to do essentially a set of 15 queries and um I saved the responses. Um it was mixed
38:46 bag from most of the general responses. I didn't get I didn't get mentioned at all. Um I got it mentioned when MCP started getting uh MCP related questions
38:55 and then obviously whenever total CMS was talked about in the in the question it it knew and suggested that you know total CMS pages. So, it's interesting.
39:05 Uh, it didn't I mean, this is a tool I'm I'm going to probably run, I once a month or every couple weeks and then over time kind of
39:14 see um obviously a lot of the work that I've done for SEO this week uh won't
39:22 kind of show fruition for probably at least a month or maybe two months, right? Which is frustrating. >> Yes.
39:31 you know, you're like, "Oh, I did all this work. This is really, really good. I I want to see the results now, but you know, you just got to kind of let the
39:40 system work." Um, so we'll see. Uh, it'll it'll be interesting to see how uh how that goes. I don't really have anything to show off. It's just it it
39:49 saves all the data to a JSON file. It's pretty techy geeky, but um yeah, just something I've been playing around with. Um, and who knows, I I do eventually
39:58 want to do like an SEO plugin for um, Total CMS. And uh, maybe this could be an interesting feature, you know, where uh, you know, you can put in your API
40:07 keys for the various things and then it'll query your website and kind of give you a little, you know, um, synopsis like what I've done here. So, that'll be interesting. We'll see.
40:18 You could go and resubmit your sitemap to Google search console and that'll kind of goose Google into at least crawling it because a lot of the other bots will follow this.
40:27 >> A lot of a lot of the pages are are it knows about the URL just hasn't indexed it yet. >> You know, >> that's what I'm saying. You can go and like if you ask Google to specifically
40:37 you can go to the page and say um you know index or crawl you can request crawling and it kind of jumps it to the
40:45 top of the list. It doesn't always work, but I've had blog posts that I just posted and
40:54 Google obviously hadn't crawled them yet. Well, I went and I said, you know, index this file, request indexing, and within a day or two it was indexed. >> Oh, nice.
41:03 And also too, just as far as I know, I don't know if it's the same deal anymore, but if you have like a blog post, I'm assuming it would be the same thing for any other URL, and you post it
41:14 to social media like in a Facebook page, like a post >> that kind of goosees Google into um crawling it,
41:24 >> it fasttracks it because I guess because it's on social media. I I don't know why.
41:37 I have a a service I got from AppSumo a couple years ago where it's it's specifically for site maps and it
41:46 basically just constantly tells Google to rec crawl pages so or if it hasn't it it checks it when the last one was and
41:55 it just you know keeps that cycle going so they're fresh. So
42:06 inside search console. So I'm here's the sitemap. So how are you >> uh go inspect any URL at the top. It's
42:15 it's a per page. So like if you were to do >> oh you inspect the sitemap URL. >> No do um well actually I've never tried
42:23 that. Um, you could you could put >> I mean I I've I have gone ahead and you know I sub I manually submitted a few URLs and you say request indexing. I did
42:32 do that on on just a few just to see if I can like kickstart some of the >> That's what I'm saying. That's exactly Got it. Got it. >> That's Yeah. Okay. So, you've already done it. >> Yeah. I I already did that on a few of
42:41 the pages, but yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Here. I'm curious if we did uh >> Yeah. If you did the whole [laughter] Let's see. That would be so badass.
42:52 https col total cms.co cositemap.
43:03 >> What? Well, that sitemap. Okay, >> that is I just want to make sure URL is
43:13 not in Google >> request indexing. Well, is it also No. Yeah, it should be. So, yeah, request indexing.
43:22 How long ago did you upload this particular sitemap? That was a while ago. >> Well, just I I only asked because >> uh submit it. Oh, it said last read was
43:32 the 23rd of September or so. >> Yeah, but it's weird that it's not
43:42 showing that it's indexed. Oh, no. It Yeah, well, because it's not technically a web page. You know what I mean? [clears throat]
43:50 >> Yeah, I guess. Interesting.
44:01 So, here's uh something interesting. So, Oh, features. Uh oh, wait. No, it wasn't features. It was my releases. Oh, it
44:10 doesn't show that uh Hold on a second. Let's go to All right. All right. So, uh Oops, that wasn't what
44:21 I wanted. this one. All right. So, uh, this is the site map
44:30 that shows all of the releases for Total CMS. Let's go ahead and go to let's go to the Total CMS.
44:44 Hey, so here's the releases page and um you notice here that there are quite a few obviously a lot of releases here.
44:53 However, if you look at the site map, it doesn't have every release, right? It only has um 3.0, 3.1, 3.2,
45:02 3.5, 3.6. Okay. Not sure where they're not in order. I think it's probably sorted by date or something. I don't know. Doesn't matter. Um, and but if you notice
45:11 there's a lot more releases here. So, um, and the reason I'm doing that is um, so every release does has it have
45:21 its own has its own page. However, like the the minor releases like the ones, the twos, those have very little content
45:31 and um, Google doesn't really like pages that have very little content. >> Okay. So um what I did was I I wanted to
45:43 not have these pages in the sitemap, right? And then actually on these pages, I actually also have the meta tag uh the
45:52 no index meta tag. So Google isn't indexing these pages at all, these small ones. But if we go to 360,
46:00 okay, this one has a full-blown blog list or a blog post, right? It's a full-blown announcement for the 3.6
46:08 release. Same thing for 3.5 and so on and so forth. Okay. Um, so how did I do that?
46:17 I'll show you. So here is the total CMS uh for the back end for the website. If we go to releases
46:25 [clears throat] and go to edit collection. Okay. So as you know for every collection when you have a sitemap enabled, it creates that sitemap for all
46:34 the objects in that collection. Okay. Um, and you can do some filtering here. Okay. So, here, um, obviously I have an exclude filter of draft true. So, if I
46:44 have a, um, let's go ahead and look at releases. Actually, let's go ahead and look at a release. Uh, so if we go to 361, right?
46:54 Obviously, there is a um, oh, draft right here, right? So, there is a draft. So obviously if I if I make something a
47:03 draft I it's not going to show up in the sitemap. Okay. Um and then another toggle that I have is announce this release. Okay. And if I turn that on then I have an entire announcement uh
47:13 style text area. Okay. So those are two toggles that um I want to affect. I only want to show um objects that have this
47:22 announce announcement. Okay. And then obviously I also want to hide anything that's set to draft. Okay. So remember those two fields. Now let's go back to
47:32 the collection. So if we go to the sitemap setup, um the change frequency is you can say monthly.
47:41 The obviously the date priority is date. But then here exclude filter. I'm excluding anything that has draft set to true.
47:50 Right? And then I only want to include things where announce is set to true. >> Interesting.
48:00 So [clears throat] that that is what allows me to here just just to show you I'll go ahead and temporarily uh we'll save that.
48:10 And >> so this is how to keep blog post. >> Now if I refresh this voila now I have every single release in there which is not what I wanted. Right? So, but now if
48:20 I go ahead and put that back.
48:31 Now, the sitemap only has the the objects that I wanted. So, kind of a fun little fun little thing. >> This how you keep future blog posts from
48:40 being indexed. >> Yes. >> Interesting.
48:49 Although what's kind of cool is by the time it's, you know, let's say I schedule out for the next three weeks, four weeks, by the time they're live,
48:59 they've already been indexed [laughter] >> and they're ready to go. >> Nice. >> Yep. So, yeah, I thought that was kind
49:08 of fun. >> That is cool. >> Um, so the things I did on this site, let's see. Um, there, um, there's a new video here. um first video that was on
49:18 the uh the total CMS YouTube page. So there we go. Um kind of a fun page. The AI page is pretty pretty cool.
49:29 Um let's see. There's the extensions page now. Um so Chris and Josh need to get on it and other people. Uh I will
49:37 eventually have a full-blown marketplace, but for right now I'm just kind of manually listing stuff. So you have an extension you want to put on the page. So far, Johan's the only one
49:47 that's uh been been doing that. So, um so yeah, extensions, um integrations page, how to integrate with various
49:56 things. >> Um and then also what's kind of cool is down here. Uh there's a bunch of other pages here. I have compare a comparisons
50:04 page where I compare total CMS to everything. Now, I did these a long time ago, but I I kind of updated the design on this page. So I these are all other
50:14 CMS's and so I just I have comparison full-blown comparison pages for total CMS versus all of these um products. So
50:23 pretty cool. Um and then there's also um CMS guides which is kind of like uh you know kind
50:31 of blog posts where it's just you know kind of ways of selling like what's the best flat file CMS blah blah blah blah blah you know so all that stuff.
50:40 Um, oh, another cool page is actually the press kit page. So, um, if someone is doing a, I don't
50:49 know, a blog or a video or something like that on Total CMS, um, I can send them this page and it has like quick little, uh, you know, they can copy
50:57 paste little snippets of, you know, one sentence about total CMS, a paragraph about a hundred words, um, kind of like little taglines,
51:06 a snapshot of data about it, um, kind of a timeline of its life, um, you know, three things about it. So, just kind of like like really quick little things, a
51:16 little bit about me. Um, and then down here you have all the assets. So, like you know, all the logos and screenshots and stuff that you can quickly download.
51:25 Um, and then, uh, there's also a press kit here [clears throat] that allows you to download all of this as a zip file. It has all the images and everything.
51:36 Um, >> cool. And another thing I I heard is that for Prescuits a lot of people were like putting markdown versions of it. So if
51:46 you do I have this page as markdown and if you click on this um it downloads it as a markdown file
51:54 which is pretty cool. Why did buy word open? Interesting. So um interesting. So you have that as a
52:03 as a markdown file. Now, what's kind of what's actually most cool about this markdown file is um let's go into the back end.
52:13 I go into pages. Here it is. Um so it is actually it's a
52:21 page. So, um it's just pressfax.md. So that's the the the URL to that file. And uh the page template is pressfax.
52:30 So, if we go look at press fax, where is it?
52:40 >> Where is it? >> Right there. >> There it is. Press. All right. So, um this what's kind of
52:48 cool is this is the page is Markdown, right? Um, and I'm actually using Twig. So, it goes
52:57 into the press kit and actually gets all the information that's saved in the CMS and generates that markdown file on the fly.
53:08 So, pretty cool. Um, uh, I was, uh, I was pretty happy with myself with that. Where, um, what's kind of cool, what this should show you is if you notice
53:18 this is the URL path to this page is fax.md. Okay, which means you you can actually use the total CMS stuff to output more
53:28 than just an ht more than just a web page. Here I'm outputting a markdown file. You can output a robots.txt file
53:37 or a blah blah blah file. Right? All you have to do is if you want to do a robots txt, you just put in /roots.txt. You're done.
53:46 Right? So you can kind of use that and then you know use uh the uh um the templating system to uh build that stuff out automatically. And as you saw from
53:57 uh from that [clears throat] you can then just use Twig. It doesn't matter if if this is outputting HTML or or markdown. Um it's
54:05 just processing the data and injecting it on into the page. In this case the page is a markdown file.
54:14 >> Pretty cool. >> Yes. Nice.
54:24 >> Um, let's see what else. What else cool did I do on this P? [clears throat]
54:34 I think that was about it. [cough] [clears throat] Good stuff, Joe.
54:58 Are you aware of agent URL in stacks app? Um not showing the little
55:09 [clears throat] when you click on the rule for has any URL parameter set. Mhm. >> It doesn't show.
55:17 Let me pull it up. I forgot the name of the thing. It doesn't show the key field.
55:30 >> Mean does it? What do you mean? It doesn't show the key field. >> I'll show you. So, here is Rapid Weaver.
55:39 >> [clears throat] >> If I click on agent URL has any raw perimeter set it it shows the Q the key right. >> Yeah.
55:48 >> In stacks it doesn't show the key. >> Oh well if you toggle that setting just change it to something and change it
55:56 back. >> Interesting. >> Get rid of it.
56:07 >> That's definitely a stack bug. private key. >> Add that to tomorrow's session for us.
56:16 >> Fair enough. >> Again, I don't want to get Isaiah upset with you. [laughter]
56:26 >> It's just right right now. He's in he's in closet developer mode trying to get Golden Gate uh you know, working. So,
56:34 >> he's in he's in hermit mode right now. I'm trying not to uh >> bother him.
56:43 >> You mean just the the pretty of it? >> Uh yeah, it broke the layout of all kinds of stuff in the app. So, he's trying to he's trying to get it all
56:52 done. So, hopefully by next week, I think that his goal is by next week to have a a build out. I think >> probably means the week after.
57:01 >> So, Joe, you know, Christmas isn't too far away. >> Oh, yeah. Are you starting to accept re feature requests yet? >> Oh, of course. [laughter] What do we
57:09 want? >> I'm not sure if this will work in F6, but maybe F7. Um, as you may remember,
57:18 we've discussed straight edges on stamps ad nauseium. >> Uh, currently I have a poll down with with nine options and and four of them
57:26 are straight edges or combination of straight edges and it works perfect. It does exactly what I want. If I want to isolate stamps that only have a straight edge at the top, it doesn't. And if I
57:37 want uh to not invoke any of those eight combinations, I can get everything. What I would like for Christmas is the
57:45 ability to invoke everything that doesn't have a straight edge, just the normal stamps. So, what I need is not
57:55 straight edge top, not straight edge bottom, not straight edge right, etc., etc. eight of them all nodded or something like that. The logic is fairly straightforward. I don't think I can put
58:05 it in a pull down. >> Um, hold. I think you can a second.
58:39 Oh, interesting. I don't think that that's documented. >> What you would try is so the value that
58:47 you currently have is um [clears throat] wait show me your search really. Show me the the filter that you're actually
58:56 applying. You don't mind? >> Sure.
59:11 >> I I just hold I duplicated. So, this isn't even active. But I was just tinkering with this and I just couldn't see how I might be able to
59:20 group eight of those and put a big knot around it. Let me go look at my
59:30 I'm thinking if you if you start the query with an exclamation point um I believe that will give you the
59:38 inverse of that I believe.
59:48 So each one of these is an isolated value, you know, s e s r. >> How about the um can you show me the
59:57 actual uh the loop that is actually doing the filtering, not the form that's doing the uh displaying of the filter
60:05 options. >> If I understood your question, it's
60:15 possibly here. No, that's just where we were. Why would it move? There we go.
60:28 >> So, where is that option? >> It's a fine question. Done edge straight edge right here.
60:39 So you but your thing is you want to have in that select down the ability to have the positive and the negative options in the same dropdown.
60:51 >> In the dropdown >> I I would like to have basically all co all possibilities which is don't do
60:59 anything and it'll all show up. >> Yeah. Isolate any one of the eight and [clears throat] show me that all with all eight removed.
61:10 Got it. >> I wouldn't want that to be the default
61:18 because it's going to be CPU intensive. I expect [clears throat]
62:06 Look, Joe, is um stack 6 going to be able to publish the TCMS data that you like did
62:17 in preview when you publish stuff or is it going to be just like Rapid Weaver? >> Nope, it'll be like Rapid Weaver. Um now, um there is something inside of the
62:28 admin area called sync manager that lets that allows you to sync some data, schemas, collections,
62:36 um basically everything except your content objects. So like your blog posts and stuff like that. Um, with the
62:45 exception of I if it's the very first time, you can do something called seeding, which allows you to do a one-time upload of of all the objects in
62:54 a collection minus any images or files. It will only do data. So, um, that is
63:02 currently how it will is and I don't think it's going to change, I'll be honest. So, um, yeah, if you if you want, you can easily do, you know, if
63:12 you find the folder in Finder, you can upload them, you know, just upload that via some sort of FTP app. But >> that's what I did. >> Yeah. Yeah, that's probably the quickest
63:22 way. [clears throat] Does anybody here use easy CSV editor?
63:31 >> Yes. If you are in let's say you click a cell B4 and you want and normally if you were to
63:40 hold down command and you wanted to click F5 you could select that and then that I am unable to do any random
63:50 selection like that. I can only do like shift shift select. Does that make sense?
64:00 >> Yes. Um Um, yeah. I I'm not sure. I don't think I' I've tried that >> really.
64:09 >> So So you're doing what? Say it again. So you're If you're doing command click or what? >> Yeah. Here. I'll just I'll just show you. So I have [clears throat] this like
64:20 I have this field and I want to click this field. I'm holding down command. Can't do it. Can't do it. Can't do it.
64:28 >> Oh. Oh. Individual fields. >> Yeah. Like I want to I want to select this one and I want to select this one in every other >> what do you want to do with that? Just
64:36 curious. >> Uh I just want to select like this one and then this one and then maybe this one and then copy them and paste them into a different thing. >> Ah
64:45 >> but I mean I'm not kidding you. Like the only reason I have CSV editor is to quickly preview. I never do any work inside of it. I because I I literally
64:54 cannot I can't work I can't select anything. >> Interesting. meaning >> I don't I don't think I've ever actually done that. Most time I use it to, you know, rearrange columns or delete
65:03 columns or delete rows and stuff like that, but >> no. >> Um I don't use it to like work on a file necessarily.
65:12 >> Yeah. I >> I honestly should just delete it because it is the most useless app that I have. >> What? [laughter] >> I cannot select the things that I need
65:22 to do. >> Interesting. Actually, I just think it's a great app for what I use it for, though. >> Yeah. So, >> and like if I want to select, you know, if I want to select every other column,
65:32 it every other column and row, it works. So, I can hold command and select every other whatever, but I can't do
65:40 individual cells. I don't know. I think that's that functionality has been around since what, the 80s. [laughter]
65:53 So yeah, I usually just command a copy all and paste into a Google sheet.
66:04 >> So I was right. You can just prepen the value with an exclamation point. At least you should be able to. So what you're going to do is share your screen
66:12 again.
66:24 >> [clears throat] >> So, let's go up to the where your drop down is.
66:37 Okay. And let's just uh I don't take that last one, the SE bottom left, and copy and paste that. >> Or was that game >> or SE? What's the SE top? It doesn't
66:47 matter which one. >> This one. >> Sure. >> Okay. So, what you're going to do is you're just going to put an exclamation
66:56 point before the value and then probably give it a different label. [clears throat] >> And do what? >> Give it You obviously want a different label, right?
67:10 >> Something like that. >> Yep. >> Yeah. So that will filter out anything that has SE at the top.
67:19 >> No. Oh, you you had a space before the or after the exclamation point. No space. >> No space. >> Yeah, no space.
67:33 >> There you go. >> So that would give me a list of all of the item. If I if I I only have one choice I can make in this menu at any
67:42 given time, right? >> Yes. >> Yeah. So, that would show me everything that isn't SE top. >> Correct. >> Okay. What I'm asking for is everything
67:52 that isn't any of those all at once. So, not SE top plus and not SE bottom and not se
68:02 >> all eight of them. Not that that's not useful to know, but it really doesn't approach what I'm trying to do. >> Got it. Okay. Okay. Okay.
68:12 >> It's it's like basically the the everything is anding all possibilities together.
68:21 >> Picking any of the ones I currently have basically excludes everything except the one that's here. >> So, it's a giant or this or nothing.
68:31 Mhm. >> And what I'm looking for logically is not SET and SER and SEB and all eight of them.
68:47 >> I I'm you know I was starting to think that maybe I could put a conditional that had all the ands in it like the select options inside there and and not whatever this is. But I that was just
68:57 >> Oh yeah, >> it wasn't giving me where I wanted to go. That is possible on the twig side to do that logic. But [clears throat] what I think we would have to do is
69:07 you'd have to create one option in here that was uh just a special one. Something that we could then look for in the filters and then add logic into the
69:17 filters that maybe >> think about it. >> Okay. Yeah. No, I I've wrapped my head
69:28 around it for quite a while. So, I I know there's either a sneaky way that you're not telling us yet [clears throat] >> or we need to add some capacity.
69:36 >> You delete you deleted the the wrong one. Command Z on that. >> It's a It's a junk thing. Anyway, I I wasn't to let you play with my real search. [laughter]
69:52 >> Thanks, Joe. I appreciate you thinking about that. >> Well, it sounds like you've had you've been burned before. I don't know. >> Yeah. Smart man. [laughter] >> I don't want to mention any names of any
70:02 fellow Canadians, but the the bond rate just doesn't match. [laughter]
70:10 >> Yeah.
70:21 So last time when I was showing when I was showing the markdown editor, I had a crash on the zoom. I had to restart the machine. It took longer. I if you want I
70:30 can show it to you. >> Oh, that Yeah, I'd love to see it. >> Okay, good. >> What What is this? >> Is a new field is a markdown field. Uh
70:41 >> what >> mark total CMS. >> Got it. Thank you. [clears throat] >> You see this page? So this this is the this is the new field type. Of course
70:50 you need to have 3.6. Is that the pro version? Correct. >> Yes. >> Yes. >> Uh it's enabled. Uh I have it. Hey, come
71:01 on. Um here you see I have a field that is test MD
71:10 it's the markdown type. So >> nice close. I go to the collection
71:21 and this is just this is the classic style field and this is the markdown you see is [clears throat] this one and you put the plain markdown and this saved as
71:31 plain markdown but you can see it you can view it >> very nice >> that's cool and >> it's okay you can view it this way the
71:40 source and resolve you can go back and here you have the access to the syntax.
71:49 >> Awesome. That looks amazing. That looks really nice. >> You can you can give it that for free in within your distribution. So, it's up to you.
71:58 >> Okay, perfect. Thank you. >> I sent you. [clears throat] >> That's awesome. >> That is very cool.
72:06 I need it because for the rag is it's much better to have a an MD file that is processed immediately instead of switching to different things. In this
72:16 case, when you have style text, it's more complicated. >> So, if you didn't know in style text, just for fun, click in that style text field.
72:25 >> Yeah. >> Hit uh just go to the end and add a new line. Okay. And then um I'll hit enter again
72:34 just so you can get Yeah, there. Perfect. Now, now just do uh three hashtags and a space. >> Three hashtag. Oh, sorry.
72:42 >> Uh and >> uh so now when you type you get an H3,
72:52 right? And then so like for another thing is so if he hit enter now and then do an asterisk >> uh
73:04 >> bullet point. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I I just most people probably didn't know that. Um so you can do a lot of various markdown syntax in the style
73:15 text editor >> um without with [clears throat] you know and having it immediately convert to style text. >> Yeah. But is let's say the result of
73:23 this is a tipped up type of field. Is this correct? >> Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Yep. I I'm I still see the value in a markdown field. I just wanted to let
73:31 everybody else know that, you know, >> they didn't know that was a thing. >> Okay. Good. Good to know. >> Well, you have
73:41 Yeah, that looks really awesome. [clears throat] >> Good job, man. That's awesome. That's really neat.
73:52 So Joe, I started to watch that video you did the other day of the new SEO thing in Total CMS. >> Mhm.
74:00 >> I made it about 20 minutes before I my brain shut off. Um, [laughter] fair enough. >> So I'll have to I have to watch it a few more times. But then but it's like
74:10 there's so much stuff. So the between that SEO helper and I just got a video from the company that that Huffar company
74:20 that I'm doing a site for. >> They sent me a webinar that they did on SEO AEO all the other EOS that there are
74:31 involved. [laughter] >> Eieio. >> Yeah, pretty much. There's like five of them or something like that. So I started to watch that. I made I made it
74:40 about 20 minutes and that before the language changed to blah blah blah blah. >> Yeah. Yeah. [laughter] >> So, it it it feels like
74:51 it feels like all the SEO type stuff is going to be a full-time job by itself plus I have to have a full-time job of learning to CMS3
75:02 plus every other day. >> I I dude I I get it, you know. Um >> yeah. uh you know I mean actually I mean when I was adding all the SEO stuff and
75:12 me you know doing the the total CMS site I mean my only my answer to that is um
75:23 >> yeah [laughter] I it's all stuff we have to do you know I mean it's just we got to know you know SEO and then you got to
75:31 know image optimization and you got to know you know I mean all these things um it's not nec necessarily total CMS, you
75:39 know, a total CMS thing. It's just >> it's just a website thing. >> Yes. >> You know, um Yeah. And then it feels o
75:48 total CMS might feel overwhelming because it's it's giving you all the features that we need to build websites, but we need to do all those things. You know what I mean? So, um I I totally get
75:58 it. Uh and yeah, I I don't really have an answer uh to that other than uh put your britches
76:06 on and do it. I you know I you know um yeah there's a lot of stuff we need to know. It's you know it's why Chris gets
76:15 paid the big bucks you know. >> Yeah. But that's where what what I do is I I have Claude go out and first of all I have Claude look at all of your
76:23 documentation and code and stuff. And then when I come up on a little section that I'm not clear on, I just have Claude I said I just tell Claude, "Hey,
76:33 I need to know better get a better understanding of this." So, I have Cloud put together these simple little explanations for me, you know,
76:41 and stuff that I can read through that summarize everything a little bit clearer way for me, you know, and stuff. And then, uh, if I'm
76:50 not clear on something, I can say, "Well, I need clarification on this." And then I'm just learning it step by step that way. Just having quad help me understand what's going on with all this
76:59 stuff. I wish that I wish that I could, you know, niche down and just say, you know what, all I do is I fix SEO on websites.
77:09 >> Yeah. >> Problem though is it's it is integrated into the actual form and function of the
77:17 website. Like >> exactly >> the way that even the way that you structure your headers, your your image alt tags. Google likes it when you don't have images on your like um image_00001
77:30 image_00 they don't like it wants actual naming um you know your alt tags they can't just be boy with a you know a ball
77:40 it they should be very descriptive um yeah it's it's a lot dude and then to getting down to like the schema on the page um getting into your page structure
77:52 so like if you have services. It'd be your domain slashservices slash service thing. I mean, it's it's so much
78:00 >> I guess you know how do you eat an elephant? You know, you just got to eat it one bite at a time. >> Yeah. >> No, no. My SEO helper stacks. So, like I
78:08 have spent days, literal days, working on optimizing the SEO helpers and they're >> they're set up perfectly fine on Joe's
78:18 end. It's what I need per client that changes that I need to make sure I add in stuff and make sure it's it's fully
78:27 fleshed out. Um, I'm constantly finding errors constantly. >> And I put a lot of work in and I know
78:36 what I'm doing. So, it's Yeah, dude. Good luck and Godspeed. >> Yeah, >> it's it is a wormhole. Now, now with the
78:45 confusion of of the new SEO core stuff and SEO helper, um, essentially like the SE like if you're using the the the
78:55 new SEO stuff in total CMS, you don't necessarily need to use SEO helper. Just being being out there, honest, right? Unless you wanted to then graduate to
79:03 some more structured d like advanced structured data stuff that SEO helper does that the the SEO stuff inside total CMS doesn't do yet. Okay. then then yes
79:14 you might you might need that. Um but for the basics um like for example the total CMS website all the SEO for that
79:24 website is done through the through its own total CM or the CMS SEO um plugin right it's all done through that
79:34 um and yeah um so I guess that's one thing if if you are using total CMS you can kind of forget about SEO helper for now right and and learn and and do just
79:43 that at least that's one one piece of the puzzle you don't need to worry about. Okay. Um and yeah, uh in terms of SEO and AEO and
79:56 and all that garbage, um all I can say is that um you know, I've I've watched a lot of YouTube videos on
80:08 SEO's dead. This is, you know, it's all about chat now, right? It's all about getting found by chat agents >> mostly. How? Okay, I'm going to be I'm
80:16 going Okay, we're we're now getting into the adult. How the do you think that they get all that information? It's through SEO. >> Yes, >> that that the AI agents. So, oh, here's
80:27 a tidbit. I learned today that Claude uses the Brave search engine to get its web information if anyone's interested
80:35 in that. Um, yeah, Claude uses Brave. ChatGpt uses Bing. Okay. Gemini obviously uses Google and whatever else.
80:44 Okay. But um it all uses SEO. >> Yep. >> So um if you want to be found on JGBT
80:54 and Bing and or um Claude and and that stuff, you need to have good SEO. That's it. There's there's no other thing about
81:02 it. >> You need to have great SEO. >> Like that's the that's the difference. Like all those videos that we've ever watched where it's like do these five things, do these three things. You need
81:11 to do all the things. Yeah. All >> Yeah. Well, this the site that I've been working on, I've used SEO Helper and I've filled out pretty much everything.
81:21 >> Um, and it doesn't even show up anywhere in Google on any of the pages. >> Have you set up a Google Business
81:30 profile? Have you set up Google Search Console? Have you I mean, have you done those things? Because if you don't have Google Business Profile for your website and it's a business, you're you're dead
81:39 in the water. And if you don't have Google Search Console where you go and upload your sitemap, you're dead. >> That's where I was showing earlier where I was doing the sitemap stuff. That's
81:47 Google Search Console. >> Yeah, >> Dave, if you want just ping me on the on the community. I'll I'll help you get set up, man. I can show you. So, it's
81:56 two things. >> Google search and Google >> and Bing also has a web masters to Bing web master tools, which is like Google search console. >> Yes. Um, yeah. Funny enough, it actually
82:07 import tool to import your sites from Google Search Console into Bing. >> Yeah. [laughter] >> So dumb. >> Yeah.
82:15 >> I've been to the search console on Google before for I don't remember why. Probably just kind of looking up, you know, where does my page sit in the
82:24 rankings. >> Um, but I guess it gets pretty overwhelming. >> Yeah, it does. Uh actually another thing
82:32 I I didn't say earlier I actually connect I created an API key on Google um that gets access to search console
82:40 and then I I had Claude use there's a Google search console MCP and then I had it connect to my to Google search
82:48 console and analyze everything. Um I'll be honest it didn't it didn't produce much for me that I hadn't already done.
82:57 Um but that's something you could do. um you know and have kind of things done for you a little bit. But um yeah,
83:07 so what >> what happens to the good old days of search keywords? >> I'm sorry, say that again. >> So whatever happens in the good old day of just using keywords. >> Yeah. Well, I mean keywords are still
83:17 there. They're just it's just not a meta tag anymore. It's you have to have the keywords in your header and you got to you know in you know your content and um
83:26 yeah and then social media tags and all that jazz which is SEO helper >> right? >> Yeah. So >> it's it's all in there. It's just been
83:35 it's just been repurposed because back in the day, just quick quick history, back in the day with Google, people would, you know, have the keyword metatag and if you were a tire shop, all
83:47 of a sudden people were putting in coffee shops, knitting needles, you know, everything under the sun. So that when someone searched for something,
83:55 your your tire shop would come up in the list because it had those keywords. I mean, it's a stupid example, but it's called keyword stuffing. And so Google said, "Nope, we're not doing meta
84:05 metatags anymore." So now it has to be your content. Your content has to include metatag or keywords. And it needs to be in a format that flows
84:14 naturally. It can't be your tire shop in San Antonio is the best tire shop that you'll ever find. Come to our tire shop
84:24 in San Antonio and learn about tires in the tire shop. And you know, it's it needs to make sense. the bots do read that stuff.
84:37 >> Yeah. >> Yeah. there's all this little um you know these little avenues you know like I said before image optimization then
84:45 like not only for images but image formats you know resizing images so that the correct size displays and then you know
84:53 >> you know >> making sure that >> what's even crazier is like I >> I obviously because you're building stuff you know every everyone here is building stuff with you know foundation
85:02 six I like I have a full sheet you know that between us where I take care of a lot of stuff you don't even know exists, right? Like accessibility, right? How is
85:13 how is the website behave to a screen reader, right? >> I mean, most of that I take care of for you. You don't need to worry about it at all, right? But those are all concerns
85:22 as well um that need to happen. And the accessibility thing is something I also have to deal with because the >> this company they worked with score to
85:32 >> to work on like a whole bunch of and the website being one of them and they mentioned uh they wanted to up not update make the website more modern and
85:44 accessibility. >> Mhm. >> Okay. So the accessibility part I get I got to go through all areas and rolls and all that simple horseshit and all
85:54 >> I would say 90% of it though just using the foundation six stacks will get you 90% there. >> The access foundation 6 is like really
86:03 really accessible out of the box even without going through and setting up rolls and all that which you can do in the stack settings. But yeah,
86:12 um, you know, yeah, there's a lot that Foundation 6 does for you out of the box. And I would say 85 to 90% of it is
86:21 done with you to do nothing, which is, which is really nice. >> So, >> and Dave, if you want here, um, this is an App Sumo thing. I had a client that
86:31 absolutely had to have that little widget of, you know, for accessibility. And so, I mean, I told them they didn't need it, but they went, they wanted it.
86:40 So, I got this. It was cheap. It works. It's It's some a snippet of code you put on the page and it puts the
86:49 accessibility crap on there. Um, but yeah, and also I was going to say is a lot of people see the total CMS, I'm
87:00 sorry, total CMS, the SEO helper stacks and especially the structured the business structured data um child stack.
87:09 It is a ton of stuff in there that you need to fill out. A lot of people just say, "You know what? I'm too lazy. I'm not going to fill it out." But the
87:17 problem is if you don't fill it out, your competitor is going to fill it out. And so just fill it out. If there's a if
87:26 there's a blank, fill it out, >> you know, fill it out. That's like the same with a Google business profile. A lot of people will go and set it up and say, "Hey, I did it." They won't put
87:35 every service or product they have. They won't put a description in there. They won't put posts on there. They won't do a ton of things that it's all there. You just got to fill it out.
87:45 So, yeah, the more information that you give your uh give Google from your website, the
87:54 higher your ranking will be. And plus, and if you if you publish today,
88:03 four to six weeks minimum before you start seeing results.
88:13 >> You might get lucky. >> You need a nap now. >> I'm sorry. >> See, I need a nap now. I'm [clears throat and laughter]
88:24 >> Do I have a couple of questions? >> Hey, Raga Muffin's here. Rag muffins in the house. So, if you see in the chat, I
88:32 dropped off the website I'm working on with uh >> Okay, let's check it out. >> Flawed and uh
88:41 total CMS. I totally did something wrong. I'm not going to tell you what I did wrong. We won't talk about that, but we're going to come back and >> Wow, check that out. I like it. But I
88:50 have to say what you have created is probably the most incredible thing ever because this website has been sitting in notebooks for like 5 years. [laughter]
89:02 I had no idea how to get it from where I from this idea that I had into a manifestation of being a real thing.
89:11 >> Wow. I I love the boldness. It's very nice. >> [clears throat] >> And now using Claude and the tools that you created, we have this and it's just
89:20 phenomenal that you get to see something become. I'm not a designer, so that's always
89:29 been the holdup is that I don't know how to do the design and the li, you know, the >> [clears throat] >> layout. >> I understand all the bells and whistles, how everything connects and how
89:37 everything works together. I just don't understand the design feature. So Claude having the design feature and then
89:45 having the code feature and working with the two of those have allowed me to be able to get this far thus far. And there's still a lot of work to do.
89:55 >> But the great thing about it is I did it, but I only did it because of what you did. [laughter] >> Yeah. >> Amen. That's our story of all our lives.
90:06 >> It's been it's been amazing. So I have a couple of questions. So, in this project file, there's a couple of issues I have in in logic
90:15 because I'm trying to understand logic. Is there a way to teach Claude or to ask it to work out better logic
90:24 for total CMS? >> Um, so it it ships with a skill inside
90:33 of Total CMS. Um, so it it should have if you're using it, it should it should be accessing that. >> Um, and then obviously it has access to
90:42 the docs. >> Um, I that's pretty much uh, you know, it in
90:51 terms of of anything else. It's kind of like a personal workflow preferences sort of thing. Um, kind of like how Chris was saying earlier where he was,
90:59 you know, um, you know, SEO helper is a very generic tool and then he finessed it to, you know, to, you know, he spent a couple days finessing it to work and
91:07 get it working for his clients, right? So, >> um, you know, it's I I think that's kind of a similar situation here whereas um,
91:16 a uh, you you can ask if it has the tool in you can ask cloud if it has the tool installed. It should. Okay. Um, >> and the tool is called it
91:25 >> just uh I'm sorry the skill I said tool. Um, so AI has this thing called skills, right? You can ask if it has the total CMS skill.
91:33 >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Um, and uh it it ships inside of total CMS. It's in it's embedded in the product. So
91:42 >> um and then uh I know based on your your post on the community, I believe you are connecting to the MCP, right? Um
91:50 >> I am now. Okay, cool. Excellent. Um, one one thing to make sure now you're connecting to the MCP of this website, correct?
91:59 >> Correct. >> Okay, perfect. >> Um, >> what what do you mean by that? What do you mean by that? >> Sure. Let let me Okay, so
92:08 uh let me go to Claude. One second >> because I may not be. [laughter] >> So I moved all So okay. So, if we go to
92:19 um um extensions now, are you you're using the are you a you're using claude or >> a I'm using claude. >> Okay, perfect. Okay. I just want to make
92:28 sure I'm showing the right the right app. >> You're using the extension or did you just configure the MCP? >> I configured the MCP through the API.
92:38 >> Okay. >> I did all of that. >> Perfect. Okay. Um so inside of where it's configured, okay, this is the default. It's totalcms.co. comcp.
92:49 Okay. >> That will connect to my server. Okay. Um but what you want is you want to >> which is a readon because you don't want
92:57 us rewriting. >> Exactly. Right. But if you want to re obviously you want to control your website. Now obviously I have an API key here because it's my website and I want
93:06 cloud to be able to control my website. Right. Right. >> Okay. Um but now if in yours you're you're going to put in this. Right. So you're gonna have uh you know
93:16 staging.mmylog galleryspot.commcp then you'll put in your API key okay or your or you can use o there's multiple
93:24 ways you can log you can use the web authentication I think the API key is just simple okay but um both work okay so that's what you want okay now on top
93:35 of that [clears throat] this will get you access to um the all of your data okay but there there's one
93:44 bit that should be enabled by default. Um, but if you go into the extensions, you want to make sure that inside of your website, total CMS docs is enabled
93:56 in the extensions. Okay, what that does is that gets that gets the MCB connection access to all your data and
94:04 the documentation all at the same time. >> Okay, so it can do like a cross reference and checking and >> exactly >> in comparison to If
94:15 if it's not enabled, we'll just I'll go ahead and disable this really quick. So then you just you would just you would see your list of all the extensions here. You would find total CMS docs and
94:23 you would just enable it. >> Okay. >> Right. And enable and that's it. So make sure total CMS docs. When this is enabled, it it basically turns your
94:34 server into the same thing as the default was when you pointed to my server. >> Okay. >> Okay. It gives you all the docs. And it makes sense because all the docs live
94:43 inside the application which is on your server. So now the MCP can not only access your data but also all of the documentation. Can >> can you define a single collection if
94:53 you want just a collection to be searched? >> Uh yes you can. Um yep be before I dive
95:02 into that though I just want James is there any other questions? Did that make sense to you? >> Yes and I have a part two to that question. So, you just spoke to the
95:11 skill. Is there a way and how would you because it seems that many of your stacks that you've created exist, but
95:23 Claude doesn't know what they do and how to utilize them. >> Yes. So, how would you write a skill to have it read the documentation in the
95:36 app so that you can have it want to use the apps accord like for instance I wanted to use your flip app right? >> Yep.
95:44 >> But it didn't know how to use that. So, it wanted to create its own thing and I'm like we don't want to do that. Yeah. We want to use what we already have. >> Yep. Um the answer to that is um it it
95:55 doesn't exist yet. >> All right. the the AI connection to all the stacks and whatnot. Um that's extremely new and um so yeah, I hope to
96:05 you know develop skills around that um that people can then install and leverage but right now that doesn't exist. >> So there's nothing that we can build on
96:14 Claude to have it query the stack. Um, it can. So, um, so if you add a stack to the page, so right now a limitation is,
96:23 um, the Claude can only see stacks that are added to your, uh, edit mode. >> Correct. >> No, that's wrong. >> Nope. Cloud can see all this over the
96:33 MCP. >> So, um, it it doesn't must run. Um, it it works. >> Let me finish. So, in order to in order
96:42 to query uh and get the data about a stack and all of its settings and whatnot, the stack needs to be on the page currently. Okay? Uh at least on a
96:53 page in your project. Okay. >> Um >> even if you're not using that page, you can just put the stack on it and say, "Look at this page and review the
97:02 stack." >> Yes. And and what that does is so a lot of my stacks I um I I tend to use a lot of tool tips in my stacks for the
97:11 settings where you hover over the setting it gives you like a little blurb about what that is. >> So Claude has access to that information >> and that's what I asked it to do. I said
97:21 can you review the tool tips in this stack to figure out how it works? >> Yes. and and if the tool tips are good and based on, you know, maybe based on
97:30 the the name of the setting and stuff like kind of infer it's not going to be perfect, right? Uh but but yes, based on that, it should be able to get a pretty
97:39 decent understanding of what it does. Now, with that said is like for example, Chris a few weeks ago, um he was trying
97:47 to get uh MCP to know how to use the equalizer swatch, >> right? I remember that talk. >> Yep. And um while there's tool tips and
97:56 whatnot, Chris basically worked with Claude to teach it how to do what it needed to do, right? Um so um yes, you
98:05 can teach Claude how to do things. Now, unfortunately, that information is now yours and it's stuck in your in your AI,
98:14 right? Um it's not really something that's sharable. >> Okay. Um, but something that I definitely want to happen in the future is to be able to, you know, have some
98:24 sort of, um, either it's built into the stack or I who I don't know exactly the best approach for that yet because again, this is very new. Um, so
98:33 [clears throat] yeah, uh, I do want to have some sort of skill for a stack, whether that be something you install as an extension or it's something that
98:41 Isaiah can allow us as developers to enate uh, embed into our stacks. um could be kind of a really cool thing. Um
98:50 yeah, it's something that I I think will happen in the future. Um but it's not possible yet. >> One thing that one thing that
98:58 >> what is correct is um Joe Joe have uh descript encrypted the her sex. So um um
99:08 it can only read um the AI if it goes over the MCP but um it can look the code
99:17 and then it knows what to do. So [clears throat] you don't >> only use the agent in certain mode not if you use the MCP connection through
99:25 like a chat app. Now if you're using something that is an analyzing the stacks itself in the code on the file system then yes um
99:33 >> and that would be something like terminal right >> uh terminal or in cloud you could use like a co-working se like a a co-work session that then you can give it access
99:43 to the stacks folder >> um that is possible um now uh like Marcelo said um
99:52 on disk all of these settings for my stacks are incred encrypted. Okay, it's because a long time ago stack developers
100:01 were coming and just copying my stacks. So, we tried to make it, you know, not so easy. Okay. >> Um, so yeah, my the P list files that
100:09 contain all the settings are encrypted on disk, >> but when you add them to the to the page, um, STAX obviously decrypts that information and allows Claude to read
100:19 that data in. >> Okay. So, but yeah, Marcelo does have a point where um the the the code for all the stacks um exists inside of your
100:28 stacks folder, right? Because it's all just HTML and CSS and PHP and whatnot, right? So, if you were to point Claude at that, it could potentially get more
100:38 even more rich data information about stack. >> Okay. Another thing you could do, James, that I've been doing is
100:48 I had I had Claude build a page in stacks, like in stacks with the MCP, right? Like I gave it an HTML file that
100:56 was a full page. It built it >> and I went in and I was like, this is a nightmare because it made all these little swatches for all these little
101:06 things, >> right? Ridiculous. A thousand swatches it makes. and you're like, "That is the nastiest, dirtiest page I've ever seen." >> So, [laughter]
101:15 what I did to alleviate that in the future was I took, just as an example, I took the the the hero that it made
101:24 >> and I I put the hero on a separate page in STAX app and and on that page, I put it in a folder and then I put another folder underneath it and I rebuilt the
101:34 the same hero as, you know, the way I would. And I mean obviously I used way less stacks way you know more efficient everything. So then I went into cloud
101:45 co-work and I said okay go and look at this page now the the test or whatever and analyze what you did versus what I
101:54 did. And it came back and was like oh yeah you're way more efficient. You did half the number of swatches blah blah blah blah blah. And so it I I taught it you know how to you know be more
102:03 efficient in that way. But what's really cool now is you can go in and use that RW mover app, pull in one of your
102:12 project files from Rapid Weaver and then point Claw to it and say, "Here's how I work. Learn from how I do things. This is how I like my footers. This is how I
102:21 like my menus." And it'll >> That doesn't work if you do things incorrectly, though. >> Well, that's true. That's very true. So, >> if you do things wrong and you tell it
102:30 to do it, it's just >> you're just teaching things. They're just teaching it bad things. The >> line that's too drunk at the party. >> Yep. There you go.
102:38 >> Pull my finger. >> Yep. And then somewhere down the line, some poor schmuck is going to like ask it to do something. It's like, well, I learned this from that James Allen
102:47 Thomas guy. >> That's right. [laughter] That old raga muffin. >> But that is one way to teach the >> So that is what I've been doing. So
102:57 >> yes. >> So stack. So, it built a page and I went and looked at the page and I said, "This is horrible." So, I took another page and I was like,
103:08 "Let me introduce you to the swatches stack. This is a place that all the tiny little swatches you make can go into. Let me introduce you to the folder
103:16 stack. This is a thing that goes at the top of every section so we [laughter] can keep it organized. Let me give you a pen stack. This is where we do." And I
103:25 told it everything. Then it went through and looked and it rebuilt its page and it agreed. It said, "Wow, you did that really well. You're a very organized
103:35 person." [laughter] >> I said, "Well, it just makes the page look tidier and less stressful because
103:43 when you open a page and it has 1,000 swatches on it, >> which is wonderful that you can use a swatch, but >> can we not tidy it up a little bit
103:52 better?" >> Yeah. [laughter] So, I just wanted to share thank you for an amazing tool and I look forward to all the growth and potential that's
104:00 going to happen from this. >> Dude, I'm loving this. Are you in Santa Fe now? I thought you were in New York. >> I'm in New York. Okay. New York. No.
104:09 >> And none of these people are real people. >> Santa Fe, New Mexico. I thought maybe move. >> I mean, there's people from Oakland. So I have a lot of friends who are artists who don't have the ability or
104:21 the aptitude for building websites or whatever but they still want representation. So this was the whole principle of doing this is allowing me to have a gallery which I used to have
104:31 but I don't want a physical place and I thought it'd be more fun to have it online and then people can just come and view and see. And the great thing about
104:40 it is I'm looking at this as a long term. This isn't just this one spot. I can go to my pottery friends and create a whole website with the same thing but
104:49 just convert it over to pottery and then do one for something else. So >> I love >> looking at evergreen options of the site is great. Like I said, I love the bold
104:59 the bold colors. >> Okay, good. Because I was really concerned about that. I was like, yeah, it looks a little a little much. But >> I like it. It makes us
105:09 >> do you mind do you guys mind if I share like real quick what I was talking about? I I have the project like >> like I show you what it did and what I taught it or like how I did it. So like
105:19 the hero training. So I basically this is the page. So hero, this is me and then the, you know, this is the uh hero
105:27 it came up with. And so basically, >> you know, well, I've since changed it a bit, but you know, you get the idea of
105:35 the similar layout that it did versus what what I wanted it to do and it learned how to do it um more efficiently. So then I went and I asked
105:44 it to rebuild the homepage. And >> we're not seeing anything, just so you know. >> Oh, you're not? I'm sorry. >> No, I Oh, we are. Cut it. Okay.
105:53 >> Oh, I'm not seeing that. How could >> Try switching tabs in Zoom sometime? It probably went back to the >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
106:02 >> There it is. Okay. Sorry. >> That's okay. So, here's the folder. This is the one I did. So, this is a, you know, a hero that I did. I've since
106:10 changed it, so it's going to look different from what it what Claw did and everything. Um, but let's see.
106:20 is this. There we go. So, it came up with all these swatches, right, for and and this is just I cleaned it up even more uh than what it had, but you know,
106:30 it did its thing and it was good. And so, >> um when it I I showed it, hey, this is how I do it. This is how you do it. Learn how to do it, you know, my way.
106:39 And then I I had it go back and rebuild >> the um the homepage that it initially did, which was full of stuff. And it did
106:49 a much better job. It it it organized things a lot better. Um it it labeled things a lot nicer. Like you can see in
106:57 here like hero copy. Um I mean it's it's got a lot of stuff, but I understand what it's doing now a lot
107:05 better. And it it b it built this. I mean, this is the site from Claude. >> Yeah. That's awesome.
107:13 >> Yeah. >> So, is this this is an H? So, you had Claude design it in HTML and then you took the HTML and told Claude to turn it into stacks.
107:22 >> Yes. >> Yeah, that's what I'm doing. >> That's what I'm doing as well. Um, I have skills that I've set up to where I've given it all the documentation that
107:32 I can about Foundation 6 and I tell it when you build websites, even just for demo purposes, make sure to build it in
107:42 in Foundation 6. >> Yeah, I did that too. The interesting thing though is that once it finds something that it likes, it like really
107:50 want because so now if you go to the site, everything's like a twig snippet, >> right? Yeah. Yeah. And I'm like, okay, can we can we not use so much Twig and
107:58 maybe move more towards stacks and foundation six stacks >> because that's the principle. We're not building a Twig website. We're building a website
108:07 >> that integrates Twig with Total CMS, but still uses the Foundation 6 framework and the Foundation 6 stacks and the
108:15 third party stacks that work with it. And so that's the key verbiage that I keep telling it, but it doesn't seem to listen. >> I >> But is that the right way to go about
108:24 it? Yes. >> Yes. Yes. Um, when I first was playing with all this, that website that you just saw, it did all the CSS in an HTML
108:34 stack. >> Yeah, that's what it did before. >> But then I went in, I said, "Okay, no, no, no. We're going to use swatches." And so it went and it start it put
108:42 everything into CSS builder swatches. >> Okay. >> Not background, font, style, none of that. It was all >> One second before you leave. One second,
108:50 Franco. Hold on, Chris. I want to answer Franco's question from earlier. One second. >> Oh yeah, >> let me share my screen. You asked how how to only how to control if a
109:01 collection is accessible via MCP. Okay. Um, so what you do is you go into your your you edit the collection and
109:10 when you go into the MCP server settings for that this particular collection, we have the MCP access. Okay. Now, by default, it's going to be admin only.
109:19 Okay, which means only only admin with an API key can access it. Okay, but if you set it to be authenticated, okay, what that does is it uses the person
109:30 will log in and you know just like access groups based on their access groups they'll get access to collections or not.
109:40 All right, you're you're muted. I don't know if you're if you're saying anything. You're muted, Franco.
109:52 Oh, he has to leave, I guess. >> Sorry. Bye. See you on Friday. Thank you very much. >> No problem. >> Bye.
110:01 >> We'll get him Friday. >> Those South Africans, they think it's so late. [laughter]
110:10 >> Not sure he heard what I was showing him, but >> that's all right. We'll get him Friday. [laughter] >> You'll get him Friday. Put that on your notes. Yeah.
110:18 >> But anyway, it's pretty cool, right? Like, >> yeah, that's exceptionally cool. >> But it's even cooler that you get to see what it creates first in its own mind
110:26 frame and then you get to say, "Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. >> We need to rein this in, cowboy." [laughter] >> Yeah.
110:34 >> Yeah. I just think >> Wait, just wait. >> What's up, Marcelo? Oh. Um, can you uh
110:43 try to download uh the stack that's uh needed for um the the demo side group problem? Um and and maybe you can show
110:53 it how you download it so I can see if it works because it's broken. If you watched in the the chat. >> Oh, okay. Uh
111:05 uh what is this website? Do I do I create an account or what? Yes, you you must create a account to download the stack because the stack is
111:15 only for one person and you can u design the stack how you want. So that's the idea. So please don't give it uh to
111:24 Ishia is to Isaiah. So um it doesn't work. You can't upload the stack. So you must download your own and Isaiah must
111:35 download his own. Maybe it's too complicated. >> [laughter] >> I must build it new. But can you try it?
111:44 >> Okay, sure. I will >> and maybe you can say what you think about it. >> Sure.
111:55 >> So, Marcelo, this is a stack that you have created that implements and imports the extensions into total CMS.
112:05 So the the idea of yeah the idea of the stack is um normally it's it's not possible to put um JavaScript files or
112:15 CSS files inside of the um um the the folder that's for it. So it's only in
112:28 um inside. So um I I don't want all the code uh on on my page. I want it in
112:37 another folder outside. So it's um it's load faster if you have a second side.
112:46 My English is >> Oh, you're doing great. >> So essentially this becomes a translator in the sense that it's
112:55 >> I have a translator stack. Yeah. But that's not this >> No, no, no. I'm saying this stack works like a translator. It takes in the >> Yeah, you can Yes. can say you want it
113:05 have in China and you all the the texts are in China or Japanese whatever. So only now it's German and English but um
113:16 more is thinking >> just to let you know that uh your email >> that's not look good but I think you must click the the button the green one.
113:26 >> Yeah. Yeah, I'll click the button. I just wanted to let you let you show you that. >> Oh. Oh, yeah. Okay.
113:37 >> He didn't want you showing all your business. >> Oh, show show more if you want, Joe. >> Okay. Sure. >> The whole process I'm interested in.
113:45 >> Okay. Sure. Sorry. So, I just clicked on it and it uh a one password didn't let me fill in the password when I created an account. >> You created an account. Okay. Then you
113:55 must scroll down to the stack. I hope it's there. Yeah, it's um a bit up.
114:03 Yes, this is one. Uh yes, download it. >> Oh, switch to English.
114:11 >> Yeah. Yeah, it's No. Oh, it's I think you you are English or >> No, it said German. >> Language German. Oh, okay. Switch to English and then Oh,
114:20 >> okay. >> Download again. Oh.
114:30 Yes.
114:48 Okay. Okay. It's called
114:59 this one. >> Yes. So, um if you you click the plus in the the
115:07 right side and um can do more. >> Oh, okay. So the idea is that the uh the
115:16 AI can can make it and um >> Got it. >> Interesting. I like the interface. The line numbers looks very nice.
115:26 >> So how so if you add >> it need a long time for um Claude to to to have it right the numbers and the
115:36 lines. >> So how do you add your styles? Oh, it's in here. Got it. Okay. Sorry.
115:46 [laughter] >> I I didn't realize that was I was like, where's the settings for it? >> Okay. Yeah. >> Sorry. Yeah. Got it. >> Okay. Nice.
115:56 >> Okay. >> So, that way you can you can have kind of your CSS files now. But these these CSS more clear. >> Yeah. >> This goes in onto the HTML page, not
116:06 into a CSS file, though. >> Yeah. If you if you watched um let's um open it ask a website. So
116:18 >> I >> command P and then look in inside the the code.
116:27 It's >> how no it's it's it's in the um the stacks um CSS file.
116:39 Can you Yeah, there it is. Yes, this is maybe it's much. Huh? >> Oh, but there it is. Yeah.
116:50 >> Yeah. >> Example. Yeah. >> Wh why you why it's so much there? >> Uh oh. In here. Uh it's probably I don't
116:59 know. That looks like uh site styles or something. It's probably stances. Right.
117:13 Cool. I like it. Good styling. It's >> Can you can you look uh like the JS files? >> Uh sure. I can I can look at that.
117:23 >> So there it's may it's clear the the logo is not good. >> Mhm. >> H okay.
117:33 Oh then. Okay. I I think I have make it more clear that it have to be open there. But >> I I I think I mean once once somebody
117:43 knows they know like for yeah for some I I don't know I I would kind of keep I think it looks attractive. Um I think if someone may maybe if you want you can
117:53 have like a little up here maybe click to double click to edit or something like that you know or if if you really wanted to. >> Um >> yeah in my vision I can show it to you.
118:03 It's it's a old vision. Don't load. Um it's there.
118:11 So now you have here um eyes >> that you click and then Oh wait.
118:20 H crazy. It doesn't [laughter] work. So wait. Um.
118:29 Ah. No. Oh, that's that's a language one. Oh, okay. Um, here it is. Ah, okay. The language
118:38 one have eyes here. And if you click, you can click again, then you can >> Okay. >> edit it. And only one opens. That's
118:48 nice, huh? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I do that similar in swatches. [clears throat] >> Uh, you can do stuff like that. Very cool, dude. Good job.
119:06 The CSS for edit mode is uh is very very strange.
119:17 Isaiah hates it when I when I mess with edit mode like what you've done to [laughter] >> doesn't like when you do anything.
119:26 >> Yeah. >> He say just leave it alone. Joke. Don't out of interest. Joe, sorry, [clears throat] my throat's going
119:35 because I've had a bad day. On your email, you're saying about a post app. [snorts] >> Post only. >> Oh, post only. Yes. Yes.
119:45 >> What does that exactly do? >> Um, all right. >> I gotta go, guys. Have a good one. See
119:54 you later, dude. Thanks, Chris.
120:04 Or is that an app for the Mac or >> uh Mac and iOS? >> Oh, >> let me close some windows here. >> Oh, you mean like phone?
120:14 >> Yes. Uh phone and iPad? >> Yeah.
120:24 Oh.
120:33 Tick. >> I nearly fell in the canal a few times moving that narrow boat.
120:42 >> Cool. You finished your move. >> Oh, no. Going through [clears throat] that tunnel nearly a kilometer long was fun.
120:52 >> Um, so this is post only. Okay. And um essentially what it does is it allows you to post to social media. It is only
121:01 for posting. Okay. Um you don't see timelines, you don't see replies, you don't see any of that. It is purely to post. Okay. Um and it does to a lot of
121:13 different places. Um so pretty much all the all the big social networks, right? I I literally just this week got approved by so we
121:22 could finally post to threads and Instagram and Facebook pages, right? >> Um so yeah, you can go ahead. You can
121:30 either post it, you know, to one account, okay? Or what you can do is you can create an you can create groups. And so let's just call this um
121:42 whatever >> be good for whatever >> and then you can you can click multiple um accounts and um when you go to that group it will
121:52 post to all of those at the same time. >> Okay. Um, you can also uh if you go ahead and post uh you you can also
122:05 uh you can schedule a post as well. So you can schedule it to go out in the future. Uh you can you can add images. Um and then you can also if we go to the
122:15 here you can see history. So these are all the ones that I've um I've added. Now you can also notice that it does show you the number of likes and
122:24 the number of uh comments and the number of reposts that a particular um one has and you can go ahead and click on it and you can view that on that view it. So
122:34 there's the post right. So um but yeah you can't the whole point is allowing you to do social media without having to get sucked into social media.
122:44 >> Yeah. Going into each individual one just do it all in one place. >> Yep. You can do it all in one place. It's [clears throat] good.
122:53 >> Uh, and feature love that >> another another feature I added this week was the uh something called a follow-up post. So, um, Twitter and
123:03 Facebook are the most notorious for this, but if you include a link in your uh post, um, you they will limit the
123:12 amount of people that can see that post. So what people tend to do is they'll they'll create a post and then they'll immediately reply to that post with the
123:21 link so that the link is in the reply, not in the original post. >> So what I've done is I' I I've allowed you to automate that all at once. So you
123:29 can create your main post here and then you can create a follow-up post with that that can have the link. Then when you when you click send, it will actually create two posts on Twitter for
123:39 you. Um it'll create your main post and then it'll automatically create a threaded response that can have your link. >> So pretty cool.
123:47 >> Also MPC >> uh yes there uh MCP is in is enabled. So you can actually drive all of this with uh claude or chat GPT.
124:00 Um yeah, right now I'm waiting on one more. Uh Facebook hasn't uh so that whole um stats thing um Facebook hasn't
124:08 approved that API access yet. Um and I'm also working on uh today I'm working on uh Google My Business um and that will
124:18 take about two weeks um or at least two to three weeks u will take to get that. And then the other one is I have LinkedIn but LinkedIn um pages
124:29 >> um I'm still waiting for API access to that. Um, so those the only things I'm kind of waiting on right now. Um, that I have to create the the website and the
124:38 the app store listings and all that jazz. So, um, it'll probably be I don't know uh six weeks or so before it's kind of ready for launch, but um, if anyone
124:47 wants I will here I I did promise in the email that I will give anyone that wants it access to this app now.
124:56 >> Oh, you're not doing like um the testing test. This is a link with Test Flight. >> So, in order to do it, you'll have to
125:05 have the Apple's Test Flight app. >> Yeah. Same as Joshua's thing. >> Yes. Same exact thing as Joshua. >> Yeah. >> Exactly. Um and this will work on your
125:15 accounts will sync between um I Mac and iOS, your iPhone, but um if you will have to reauthenticate on the device.
125:24 So, the account will be there, but you'll have to authenticate uh it again on that other device.
125:34 for security reasons. >> Oh, >> because all the the security credentials are all stored locally on the device in the keychain. So that um yeah, we don't
125:44 want passing all that information over the over the cloud. So it's all local to the device.
125:52 >> Oh, good, good, good, good. And if you want the MCP information, so if you go to the settings, there's AI agents and then you can install the
126:01 claude or the chat GPT um extension. >> And there's some settings here for AI stuff.
126:10 >> I should try and have a play with that. But uh it'll be a busy week. I'll be around this Friday, but I don't think next Friday because we're moving on the 9th.
126:18 >> Okay. >> I only Well, basically I left here. I only got back s Sunday night with the
126:27 boat down the road here after coming like through 60 odd locks and doing a wrong turn which is another 14 locks.
126:38 [laughter] >> Okay. >> I just spent most of the day um changing
126:48 um emails on things. I did send you an email as well about that and a thing on >> I will um I saw it. I haven't taken care of it but I will.
126:56 >> Yeah. No, no rush. It's just I'm just I don't forot that NL world one won't exist anymore soon. >> Oh, okay. >> I got plenty of time. 90 odd days.
127:06 [clears throat] But some of them changing the Apple one was the worst one. CL
127:14 [laughter] >> that took about three hours >> before it sort of caught up with everything
127:23 and then about [snorts] 20 different [clears throat] things to change on that email account. So, it's been a busy day.
127:34 >> Excellent. And uh well the the comments and the um members list thing is coming well because I've got um
127:43 >> I was wondering about that >> on the members list now. You can click a thing and it shows all of the links to every comment and you can just click on
127:51 it. It doesn't matter what blog post it on. It'll go and highlight it and take you straight to it. >> Okay. So, and I've done a I'm up to
128:02 about an 18page manual as well because obviously you got to have all the bits uploaded in the right place of total CMS free and everything for it to all work.
128:11 [laughter] >> Sweet. Well, guys, I think I'm going to call. Any any last minute questions?
128:20 >> Anything anyone needs any help with anything? >> No, I'm right now. Thanks. >> Cool. Well, we'll see most of you guys on Friday,
