This covers the project layout for the Weaver Base Site project file Caisson. For the double-click function in RapidWeaver... This is an amazing feature within RapidWeaver, but it’s not a default feature. If you were wanting to enable this, please open the Terminal app on the Mac and copy and paste the following command: defaults write com.realmacsoftware.rapidweaver8 stacksHideOnTitleDoubleClick 1 If you’re a SetApp subscriber like I am, you will use the following command: defaults write com.realmacsoftware.rapidweaver-setapp stacksHideOnTitleDoubleClick 1 This is also good for hiding and unhiding (collapsing) stacks. https://weaverbasesite.comThis covers the project layout for the Weaver Base Site project file Caisson. 00:07 hey everyone
00:08 i just wanted to give you guys a quick
00:10 overview
00:11 of the caisson weaver-based site project
00:14 file
00:15 and just how it's structured so when you
00:18 first open the project
00:20 you are presented with this start page
00:24 it's just a few lessons lesson one two
00:26 and three
00:28 on you know kind of how the um
00:31 the color coding works a little bit on
00:34 how
00:34 pin works and some just general do's and
00:37 don'ts
00:38 of the project file so if you
00:41 look at the left side over here these
00:44 are all the different pages
00:45 that are available in the project file
00:48 if you twirl down let's say the home
00:51 page
00:52 you see that there is one subpage and
00:54 that
00:55 is the pages admin page so
00:58 this kind of file or i'm sorry page
01:02 organization
01:03 is throughout the entire project if you
01:06 twirl down the about us
01:07 you get an about us but if you twirl
01:09 down say the blog well now you have the
01:13 blog
01:13 view page a blog admin
01:17 page and then a blog admin page for the
01:21 the blog list and then the blog form
01:24 so this page is where
01:28 you would see like the list of the posts
01:30 that that you've created
01:32 and then this page is the blog form page
01:36 that ties back to
01:38 this page and just a little information
01:43 about the
01:44 the blog admin page itself and this
01:47 again is the same
01:48 throughout all the rest of the pages at
01:51 the bottom here
01:52 there are the blog page settings that
01:55 have the page title
01:57 the link title the page description and
02:00 the social media share card
02:02 every single page that's in the cason
02:05 project file
02:06 has this information and it ties
02:09 directly into
02:11 seo helper let me uh
02:14 close these back up just keep things
02:16 organized
02:18 all right so down here in the admin
02:22 page this is the main admin page where
02:25 you have
02:26 all of the admin navigation um
02:30 then you have the dashboard so this
02:33 dashboard
02:34 is actually and actually all of these
02:37 pages
02:37 so anything that has an admin with a
02:40 dash next to it
02:42 all of these pages are going to be seen
02:46 inside of this page so this page uses
02:50 what's called a limelight stack by big
02:52 white duck
02:54 and limelight allows for
02:57 you to be able to put or present content
03:00 within a container and in
03:04 this particular case the container is
03:06 called
03:07 sections pro let me go ahead and close
03:09 up these pins
03:10 okay so this is the section pro
03:14 where all of these admin pages
03:18 will show up and you can see that if i
03:22 were to actually let me show you the
03:25 dashboard what it looks like
03:27 so
03:31 this is the dashboard and you know
03:34 there's nothing in here except the
03:35 welcome
03:36 and the logo if i were to
03:40 click on the admin page though
03:46 you'll see it flicker there quickly
03:49 that's happening
03:50 just because this page is also loading
03:52 in there
03:53 but if you you can quickly see it it it
03:56 does show
03:57 the shell of the of the actual admin
04:00 portal
04:03 okay and then down here
04:06 the only two pages that really are part
04:09 of the project that you need
04:11 are the site map and the 404 pages
04:16 those two don't have any sub pages so
04:19 up here you may notice that there are
04:22 a couple of pages there's the legend
04:26 sandbox and holding box the legend
04:30 is just another way for you to see the
04:33 color codes and to get some you know
04:35 quick information
04:37 on how the the project works you know
04:40 the structure of it so you have the page
04:41 blog post
04:43 admin blog post and and so on and so
04:45 forth
04:47 the sandbox is sandbox is just a blank
04:52 page
04:53 and this is a way for you to go in
04:56 and and just you know test stuff out
04:59 and it's it's going to be you know
05:01 whatever your domain is
05:02 forward slash sandbox you know this this
05:06 this page is uh extremely helpful to me
05:09 at least because
05:11 i can be on say the home page working on
05:14 you know
05:15 a blog list layout or the menu
05:18 and you know i want to make some changes
05:20 to it but not really affect the rest of
05:22 the site
05:23 so i can just you know make a copy of
05:25 the menu
05:26 and put it in here work on it test it
05:30 and make sure it does what i need it to
05:31 do and then when i'm done i can just
05:34 you know copy it and paste it into the
05:36 actual one
05:37 and upload the file so you know you have
05:40 the admin core in here so you can test
05:42 total cms admin swatches and layouts
05:46 i'm sorry swatches stacks and layouts
05:49 and then
05:50 you know here are the site styles so
05:52 it's very simple i put in a shelf
05:55 up here a shelf stack because i like the
05:57 ability to just have the size
05:59 chart and the utility classes at the
06:02 ready so they're always floating up
06:04 there at the top
06:05 and then the last one is something
06:07 called what i call the holding box
06:10 so i have in here a bunch of
06:13 other elements layouts you know
06:16 footers and you know different blog
06:19 posts
06:20 um for blog pages that that are in here
06:22 that
06:23 i can go in and if let's say that i want
06:26 to put a different one on a different
06:28 page
06:28 i can you know choose this one and just
06:31 put it
06:32 on the page and take the other one off
06:34 and maybe put it in here
06:35 it's just you know different options so
06:37 i have like three different footer
06:39 options
06:40 here's that back arrow button basically
06:43 any
06:44 little element that i create that i
06:47 think
06:48 might be useful in other areas i'll put
06:51 it in here you know this back arrow
06:52 button for you know what if
06:54 one day i wanted to have a forward arrow
06:56 button
06:57 i could just duplicate this change the
07:00 alignment and
07:01 boom i got my forward arrow button you
07:02 know little things like that so
07:04 just wanted to kind of you know let
07:06 y'all know
07:08 my thinking behind uh how i structured
07:11 the
07:12 the layout here and then one last thing
07:16 is the caisson
07:19 project file uses foundation six
07:23 menus i believe it uses a drill down
07:26 menu
07:27 and it is not a rapid weaver menu
07:31 so this this
07:34 ordering of the different pages is
07:37 controlled by you and you
07:41 can make the home page last or you can
07:44 make the blog page
07:45 last or the contact page in the middle
07:48 you know
07:48 it's all up to you all you have to do is
07:51 go into that drill down menu
07:53 and you'll be able to reorder things and
07:55 i have another video that i'm going to
07:56 be doing
07:57 that covers navigation because the
08:00 navigation is
08:01 is somewhat complex when you first open
08:04 it up
08:06 but in reality it's actually very easy
08:08 very customizable
08:10 and and i think it's going to fit your
08:13 needs
08:13 no matter what project you're going to
08:15 be doing so
08:17 anyway hope that was helpful and i will
08:19 see you guys next time
08:27 you"}]
