00:09 i just wanted to make a quick video to

00:13 how unpinning a container
00:17 or a column works within rapidweaver
00:21 because i have done that a couple of
00:23 times
00:24 just to keep things a little cleaner
00:28 and more user-friendly when it comes to
00:31 editing
00:31 across the entire project file so
00:35 an example of this is actually in one of
00:38 the page sub-menus
00:39 i'm sorry one of the admin pages in a
00:42 page sub-menu
00:44 so if i click on the admin home page
00:47 you see this
00:51 page sub menu right here okay so
00:55 if i double click this it opens up the
00:57 pin right
00:58 so i'm going to double click the pin and
01:01 you see
01:02 that there's this pin for the small
01:05 and this pin for medium and large so i'm
01:07 going to double click
01:09 the medium and large and the small just
01:11 to open them up
01:12 actually we'll just keep medium and
01:14 large open just for this purpose
01:16 okay so i'm going to back out of here
01:19 and so
01:20 you can see that there is a menu in here
01:24 and if i preview this here's the menu up
01:28 here
01:29 it takes you to the different sections
01:32 okay but if i go back
01:36 and i actually go in let's say that i
01:39 want to rename
01:40 section one to about us okay because
01:44 in here if i scroll down to this
01:47 you know this would be my about us page
01:49 and i can rename
01:50 section one to about us and
01:54 i can say home page text image about us
01:57 or you know
01:57 whatever however you guys want to do it
02:00 it's your call to your project
02:02 so i want to rename section one
02:05 to say about us so if i go in here
02:10 and i double click the partial and i
02:13 come down to medium and large i'm like
02:14 whoa
02:16 what happened where's my
02:19 where's my menu i i don't know where it
02:20 is that's that's crazy
02:22 so if you look over here this little pin
02:26 icon like a thumbtack it's black as
02:30 opposed to
02:31 this one which is blue as is this one so
02:35 if i were to back out again
02:39 now see what i did this
02:42 home page submenu is actually there
02:47 it's not there here
02:51 but if i come over here it is
02:54 so now i can come in and i can double
02:56 click on that
02:57 and go in to the drill down because it's
03:00 a partial
03:01 and the partial the reason for the
03:03 partial is so that i can have it here
03:07 and i can go into the sub menu i'm sorry
03:09 the small menu
03:11 double click on it and you see how this
03:13 container
03:15 has the thumbtack that's black as just
03:19 the same as this one down here
03:21 if i back out
03:25 now i can see the partial
03:28 so if i were to come in and say i want
03:30 this
03:31 to be instead of section one
03:34 about us say okay
03:39 and then i back out now it says about us
03:44 here and here so the partial is helping
03:47 you automate
03:48 your menu changes across this page okay
03:52 so i have
03:55 a lot of different pages about us blog
03:58 contact
03:58 drinks menu events on and on and on and
04:01 on and each one of those
04:03 has its own admin page settings page
04:06 okay so if i'm in here
04:10 and let me look at this now
04:14 let's pretend that i want the background
04:17 of this menu to be i don't know maybe
04:21 like a purple color for some reason well
04:24 if i want consistency across all my
04:27 different
04:28 admin page pages
04:32 i would have to go through and click on
04:34 this one
04:35 go in here you know set the color of the
04:39 the background come over here to this
04:41 one
04:42 set the color of the background you know
04:44 it it gets pretty tedious
04:46 very quickly so instead of doing that
04:51 the way i set it up with is if i double
04:54 click on this to go into the
04:56 the partial i'm just going to
05:00 close up this pin real quick to keep
05:02 things a little
05:04 cleaner if i come in here
05:08 and let's say that i want the background
05:10 to be
05:11 um purple like i said so i have sticky
05:14 menu
05:15 okay here's my sticky menu i'm going to
05:20 throw in a swatch
05:26 and just copy this real quick and make
05:28 sure i got the right
05:30 class i'm going to do
05:33 background
05:37 and i'm gonna set the color to
05:41 purple let's see if this works
05:45 okay so now the menu is purple
05:48 the background okay and if i preview
05:50 this
05:55 it is purple i just have a background on
05:58 this as well
05:59 so but you can see it's back the
06:01 background is purple
06:03 now what's cool is if i click on this
06:06 about us page
06:08 it's it's background is purple as well
06:11 so
06:12 i've basically saved myself hours and
06:15 hours of time
06:17 of going through and making miniscule
06:20 changes
06:21 and just made it so i have to do it once
06:24 and it reflects across
06:26 everywhere so let me go back in here
06:32 go in here oh i have it set to
06:35 the actual menu the the drill down
06:38 is set to have a white background that's
06:40 why that's
06:41 looking like that but you get the idea
06:44 so i'm going to click that swatch
06:45 actually i'm just going to click this
06:47 watch
06:48 stack and get rid of it so
06:51 so yeah so that is unpinning and
06:54 this works in a lot of different
06:55 situations when you have a partial
07:00 you can make a partial and have you know
07:03 a lot of different things happen inside
07:05 that one partial
07:06 that reflect across many many different
07:08 places in your in your page
07:10 i'll show you one more example of that
07:13 actually
07:15 get that okay let me come down here to
07:18 the settings page
07:27 if i go into actually you know what let
07:29 me go back into the home page
07:31 because i have it set for the the page
07:34 settings
07:36 so if i come down here ever like i said
07:40 every page has its own admin page
07:44 page for settings okay
07:47 so page specific settings for each page
07:50 that there is home
07:51 sam about us blog all those pages
07:55 so i wanted everything to be matchy
07:58 matchy
07:59 and because it looks nicer and more
08:01 professional
08:02 so every page settings page down here at
08:05 the bottom
08:06 has homepage settings page link title
08:10 and if you were to go in here
08:16 and actually double click on this i have
08:19 it's a partial
08:21 and i have all of these set to
08:24 you know be the same so i can take this
08:26 partial
08:27 page title and it'll reflect across
08:30 everywhere okay
08:31 but if you wanted to like let's say that
08:34 you wanted something that would be
08:35 unique
08:36 per per section like this
08:39 you could just get like a one column and
08:41 put it in there
08:43 and un unpin it
08:46 and now it's a you know it's a drop zone
08:48 so i can back out of here
08:51 and now you see that i have this to
08:53 where i
08:54 can drop something so what i'm going to
08:56 do is actually real quick show you the
08:58 admin
08:59 for about us just so we can have a
09:03 comparison
09:04 so it has you see that page has a drop
09:07 zone as well
09:08 now what i'm going to do is i'm just
09:10 going to take that basic content stack
09:12 that i
09:12 showed you earlier in a different video
09:17 drop it in there okay so
09:22 here i put the basic content stack or
09:24 i'm sorry template into this
09:26 so it's page specific i just wanted this
09:29 page
09:30 to have this information if i come up to
09:33 the home page admin see how it's not
09:36 there
09:37 so you can see how you can make very
09:40 quick site-wide changes
09:43 but still have custom customizability
09:46 custom
09:47 you get what i'm saying within that
09:50 section
09:51 per page so very cool very powerful
09:54 and uh yeah it's
09:58 it allows you to basically make whatever
