all right perfect how's everyone doing today do we lose we probably lost a bunch of people um uh we got a pretty
0:06
good crowd here though we did lose some we had about 30 some odd people on the live
0:13
but uh that's just the way the cookie crumbles okay
0:19
um so let's get cooking um so today I had an idea it was actually spurred by a
0:26
post on the community okay it was from Jody Joy yep um and here let's let's bring up
0:35
the question and uh we'll answer that question and then we're going to go into a tire ad of an entire subject
0:43
okay uh let me go ahead and share my screen
0:49
share okay so Zoom Windows
0:55
[Music] around
1:05
uh let's see and funny enough like was literally like 10 minutes uh ago or 10
1:12
minutes before we I was supposed to start the live stream so a half hour ago I uh actually added some features to to
1:19
slot machine which will show you that will make this uh a lot nicer so jod um
1:25
has a client that um saw quick flip if you know quick flip is my stack that
1:30
kind of like you know it's like a card flip okay um but she has 74 cards that
1:36
she wants to potentially flip through right and having 74 loading 74 cards
1:43
onto a web page like they're images right um when you know not everyone's
1:50
going to see all them because you're only seeing one at a time right so we want to intelligently only load a
1:56
certain number maybe 12 or so she said here um and load those into Quick flip
2:02
so then quick flip would flip between the cards but for performance reasons we don't want to load all 74 images
2:10
right so um Dave who's here right now uh
2:15
came up with the perfect solution which is exactly what I would have recommended as well which is a use slot machine
2:22
right and so I think this is this spurred this uh this idea of you
2:29
know a lot of people think when they see a stack they're like okay I need to add quick flip and then in quick flip I need to add in 12 images or I need to add in
2:38
you know a certain number of things and it's static right um but there are a lot
2:43
of stacks that we can now use that will allow us to dynamically do
2:48
things okay so that um yeah our web pages aren't always the
2:54
same so um there's a couple different classes today but first I thought it'd be fun just to kind of um solve this
3:01
problem okay and uh show you how that works so I'm gonna go ahead and let's load up rapid
3:08
Weaver sorry Stacks [Music] classic and uh we're going to load
3:17
up the other one I was thinking I was Drift But I thought that might have been a bit too
3:23
extreme yeah I think slot machine was a per if you're going to use Quick flip slot machine is going to be perfect for
3:28
that um so um here I already I I was as I
3:35
said I was working on slot machine right before this um I added this a new feature called return
3:41
count traditionally slot machine only returned one item right um and so what
3:47
we wanted was the ability to return multiple items um so you could have done it
3:54
before um if you had multiple slot machines let let's say she had 74 cards
4:00
and you wanted to return 12 you could like divvy up those 72 into into 12
4:05
different slot machines but man that seemed way over complicated right so I
4:12
was like well why can't slot machine just return 12 cards right you give it
4:17
72 and you say slot machine give me 12 right um so here's just a quick um
4:23
before we build it into Quick flip here's a quick example where if you see here um in slot machine I have one two
4:30
three four five potential slots right um and in the main slot machine stack I
4:36
just said return four so give me four okay um so we're going to go ahead and preview
4:43
that and if you see here it randomly picked four and if we refresh it's just going to randomly pick
4:50
four and it will never duplicate an item right um so pretty cool so let's um
4:58
let's see how we we can add this into Quick flip
5:06
okay so let's do quick flip four okay so now traditionally um in quick
5:15
flip let's go ahead and what's the quickest way to do this
5:22
so we can have time to talk about other things um instead of images okay um I'm just
5:30
going to use these header items okay maybe we can style it up a little bit okay but um yeah I'm just going to use
5:37
headers so that I don't have to find images and drag and drop them in and and whatnot we're just going to use these
5:42
header items that are just going to be numbers okay we can create some more if we need to okay
5:50
um but let's go back to slot machine and or quick flip and quickly generate um
5:56
something so let's go ahead and um let's do it statically first and then um we'll
6:03
we'll then implement it with slot machine okay um so here I'm just going
6:08
to delete that now so let's generate this um here for fun let's style it up
6:13
just a little bit so we have something going on here let's do a container and there I have a header in
6:20
the container let's just add some padding let's do like P I don't know
6:26
96 okay so a lot of padding and let's just give it background color um BG
6:32
secondary okay um so that it's gray okay so now um I have my quick flip side
6:38
let's just duplicate this a few times and come
6:44
on double click we're going to do two and
6:51
three all right so and oops so now we
6:56
have um quick flip and I have a side a side oh here I oh here's four number
7:05
four all right so they're in order let's just go ahead and drag and drop them in
7:11
so now we have 1 two three four sides okay
7:16
and I think we could just leave all the settings uh as is in quick flip just for now let's preview
7:22
that all right oh well it's ginormous let's go ahead and uh let's hold on
7:27
let's go ahead and and reduce the size of quick flip just a little bit cuz quick flip will
7:33
um constrain itself so let's just do this let's make it like uh 33% of the
7:41
size horizontal align Center We'll add it into
7:48
there well that's a little bit better but not fantastic hold on overflow hidden oh
7:55
small oh I don't want Auto I wanted that 33 uh 4
8:01
33% there we go all right so there we go now we have a nice little card it flips to one and
8:08
then it flips to two Okay uh oh I think I have it set
8:14
to
8:20
um Oh that's oh Point pointer out is forward okay uh click
8:27
forward um pointer in pointer out do nothing okay there we go let's do
8:36
that so when I click it's now going to flip in between all my various things
8:42
right now imagine for jod Jody's sake these would be images again just for
8:48
Speed I'm just using these little cards with a with a number on it okay and it allows us to easily see um when we do it
8:55
next how we can randomize that okay so um any questions so far pretty simple
9:04
right now let's talk about how quick flip and
9:11
similar Stacks to Quick flip okay work so let's go ahead and add a new instance
9:17
to the page just so we can kind of analyze it a little bit so here we have quick flip and the
9:23
way we add slides to Quick flip okay or sides in this case is we just add in
9:30
these cards right so as many cards as we have these quick flip sides that's how
9:35
many sides there's going to be inside quick flip okay
9:42
so there are many stacks out there and this is one category of stacks that we
9:47
can talk about that will allow us to dynamically add content to our page
9:54
based on the stacks that we've added inside of it
9:59
okay so let's rebuild this example using slot
10:08
machine so what I'm going to do is let's go to slot machine and I'm going to add in slot
10:14
machine directly into Quick flip
10:20
now normally when you click this blue button it adds just a quick flip
10:25
side I and all of us here as a power user that slot machine's kind of a powerful stack and allows me to generate
10:32
content okay so what I want it to generate is a
10:37
quick flip side so what I'm going to do is I'm going to add a quick flip side into the
10:43
slot okay actually what I'm going to do is uh we already have oops some quick flip sides created so what I'm going to
10:50
do is I'm just going to take these and I'm going to uh drag them into slot machine okay so now slot machine does
10:58
require slots okay so we're going to have to add slots for everything that we we
11:08
want um so let's just add in all these sides for our various quick flip things
11:14
so we have two uh and this one and then this
11:21
one and then this one and let's go ahead and there we'll create one there let's
11:28
do
11:34
five and let's do
11:40
six all right so we have six okay now there are even more ways to make
11:48
this more automated but I just want to show you how to do it with slot machine okay let's go ahead and I'm going to
11:53
move this down into that one column come on
12:00
all right so now I have U inside quick flip I have slot machine and slot machine is going to randomly pick well
12:07
right now it's going to do one right let's do um let's do three okay so it's
12:12
going to it's going to randomly return three slots and our slots are 1 2 3 4 5
12:18
and six okay so let's go ahead and preview that one six and oops uh I need to do
12:29
change these so click is forward let's just do that so we have three 1
12:37
six 3 1 6 interesting there is a blank one in
12:44
there now I I I didn't test this before and this is 100% live so it's interesting what's uh what we can do
12:50
here let's see so we had 316 wonder what that blank one
12:57
was
13:13
oh it did a fourth one interesting that is has a number
13:21
one oh that's a script tag oh why is there a script tag oh it's in preview oh interesting I
13:29
never thought about that see I never tested this this is
13:34
something that only would happen in preview um if we published this this wouldn't happen that that blank slide um
13:41
interesting I will fix that when I when I ship the update but um it's something
13:46
this is a quirk that would only happen inside preview not something I anticipated
13:52
um but pretty cool right so that allows us to quickly um you know I can add as
13:59
many items as I want in a quick flip um and and slot machine's going to just randomly pick in this case three of the
14:06
six and if I refresh the page oops wrong keyboard shortcut now you see now it's six five
14:15
and four right 2 1 and six right so it's
14:20
randomly picking different slides um inside quick flip pretty
14:26
cool um now as I said before um there's other even more now in
14:32
this particular case it was a little repetitive because I need I needed to do
14:38
uh it's the all everything in this in the slide is the same it's just changing the number right um now in this part
14:46
this particular use case isn't probably very common right when are you going to
14:52
want to have a quick flip that just has numbers incrementing right but let's say
14:58
you really want wanted that on your site um and I didn't plan on this use case but uh let's completely automate
15:05
this right which would be kind of be fun okay so uh let me make this a little bit
15:11
bigger so we can see it at the mode there we go so what I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead
15:17
and uh let's just remove this particular one and we're going to get rid a slot
15:23
machine we're going to use a different slot machine stack right now okay which is kind of a fun one
15:29
um and it's called particle generator if you guys have attended any of the Bento live streams that I did um I use
15:36
particle generator a lot it's really super useful for just dynamically
15:41
creating content okay and I'll show this is going to be a super simple use case for it okay um and what I'm going to do
15:49
here is let's just uh I'm going to set up uh a number okay and our number is going to be 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 n okay um
16:00
so we're going to generate nine of these bad boys and we're going to throw it's going
16:06
to generate these and I'm going to dynamically put in the
16:12
number uh number boom all right so what I did here
16:20
is I um created a macro dynamically called number and these are the all of
16:26
the available options 1 2 3 4 4 5 6 7 8 9 and then in particle generary I can
16:31
say how many do I want to create I want to create three okay um and uh basically now we
16:39
just go ahead and preview this and we have 8 3 and five right we
16:46
still have that blank one again that's just a preview Quirk um 7 1 and four I
16:54
mean pretty cool right uh so now in this case I I completely Dynam dynamically generate based on this particle data
17:01
again for a live production site is this a exact use case probably not but um
17:07
just a it's important to know the tools that we have in our Arsenal right and how I can intelligently maybe make this
17:14
stuff um if you looked at the Bento ones I did uh we can actually dive into that a
17:20
little bit later um you know I did stuff where I gave it an option of names and colors and it dynamically just generated
17:27
stuff based on names and numbers and and colors and whatnot right um but yeah
17:32
particle generator another really fun one uh slot machine itself is a stack set that just it has these utilities to
17:40
dynamically create content on your site Okay now what's really cool and there's
17:47
also let's see um I won't go into this one this is a random image um stack so
17:52
if you have let's say a folder of images on your website and you just want to randomly pick one image in your folder
17:57
and display it there we go um the randomized stack um
18:04
what this does it allows you to let's say you have a grid of items and you
18:09
want to randomly like Shuffle the items in that grid okay this doesn't hide um
18:14
the content per se or show only select things it just randomizes things that are on the page so it's a different type
18:20
of utility for slot machine but it's super useful now it's really cool there are
18:27
some other Stacks out there that will do things like slot machine does where you
18:32
can give it multiple um slots and it will randomly display one of them where
18:39
slot machine is different is that um a lot of the other Stacks that do that
18:44
will actually still load all of the content it'll only display one whereas
18:49
slot machine does it all in the server so let's say you have a thousand items and you're like slot machine only
18:55
display one of these you're only ever going to get one of those items actually in the browser um rather than
19:02
downloading a th000 of them and hiding 999 of them right um so slot machine is
19:08
definitely a lot more performant since it does things on the server um rather than loading stuff on the browser and
19:14
then hiding them with CSS or JavaScript so pretty cool that's what kind of sets slot machine apart from a lot of the
19:21
other similar
19:27
stacks any questions on that okay today uh is kind of I'm not
19:34
going to go into like a lot of lives demos like I did right now um I kind of
19:39
want to keep it high level and kind of show you there are a lot of other Stacks similar to slot machine that will allow
19:45
us to dynamically change our content okay
19:51
feed um yes that's a different category um where we are dynamically injecting
19:58
content and creating content too um but let's see first I want to go off let's go with agent
20:06
okay agent is another Suite of stacks um actually let's go ahead and open up the
20:12
agent demo file so we can kind of look at that actually let's go ahead and go to
20:20
the
20:27
um all um I think I've talked about agent
20:32
in a recent live it seems like I've talked about it in a recent live stream um and it's very powerful oh look I have
20:39
some broken images on my demo damn it hate when that happens um so what agent
20:46
allows us to originally agent there was just one stack there was the agent stack
20:51
okay and what it allows you to do is it gives you the control to uh uh let's
20:58
open up okay um here is the agent stack and what allows us to do is to
21:06
hide it allows us to send data based on our devices okay um it it's not hiding
21:13
the data it actually um just like slot machine all the logic happens on the server so um it only loads the data that
21:19
you've requested so a lot of people what they'll do is um they want to have you know custom content for mobile okay um
21:27
so what agent allows you to do is to display content based on if you're on a mobile device a tablet desktop or if
21:34
you're a bot okay that's kind of cool if you want to serve custom content or hide some content from Bots um that's
21:40
interesting I will say that tablets are harder and harder to distinguish
21:47
nowadays um because apple is actually the iPad actually um portrays itself to
21:53
the server as a desktop um and some tablets deter you know um display
21:59
themselves as a mobile device so tablets are harder and harder to distinguish
22:05
between a desktop um and a tablet but Mobile's pretty still works fairly well
22:11
um so if you only wanted to send out content for a mobile device and really uh customize your layout for mobile um
22:17
agent is a great way to do that there's even some more granular ones like you can Target a particular platform like if
22:23
you wanted to Target Windows users or Mac OS users an obvious use case for this is is if you you have a custom
22:29
download link for let's say if you're a iOS Developer and uh you want to link to
22:34
the IOS app store uh when someone visits from IOS but when someone visits from Android maybe your apps on the Android
22:40
app store you can you can easily Target Android versus iOS here and change your
22:45
content maybe just a link right um so stuff like that's pretty useful then you
22:51
can also Target a particular browser right so if you want to Target IE users or Edge users or Chrome users or
22:58
whatever you could do that uh with agent as well okay
23:05
um I'm not going to go over all the agent Stacks uh one that I think is going to be uh very beneficial uh to a
23:13
lot of people is the agent language features okay so agent Lang allows you
23:19
to customize your content of your website based on um two things either
23:25
you can default it to the language of the web browser okay so obviously my web
23:30
browser is set to English um and it'll default the language of my site to English um but if your language is
23:37
something else you can definitely um you know customize that so for example um on
23:43
this demo I thought I had links here
23:50
for what I don't have a link here to change the language what kind of developer built this
23:56
page I'll have to uh after today I'm going to have to revisit this uh agent demo um from what I remember there was
24:03
there were links here so you can I think it was let's see if I do uh question mark
24:09
Lang Lang equals de I think there we go
24:15
um so basically uh you you can change either via URL or some buttons so you
24:20
can create buttons on your page to you know swap out the language okay of your site and um you can change out the
24:28
contact if you see here this quote changed you could also customize the entire image as well so like you can display different images based on the
24:35
user's language either the one they select or automatically via the language of their
24:40
browser okay now earlier I had uh in my email I alluded to how some of the
24:47
strategies I'm going to talk about today can help you with SEO this is the this is perfect uh I have an entire I think
24:54
two live streams that if you build multi language websites you need to watch um
25:00
and I I detail out how agent Lang can work with SEO okay because now you can
25:06
build out one web page and have multiple languages on that web page using agent
25:12
Lang okay um and it's super powerful so that way Google can index your English
25:17
version and your German version or any other languages that you have and you get all the SEO juice for all the
25:24
languages okay it even works with SEO helpers that you make that you have uh when you're on the German version of the
25:30
page you get all the German SEO tags as you know as well right and or any other
25:36
language not just German obviously um so that's super powerful because when Google indexes your site and it thinks
25:43
it's looking at a German web page you don't want to have English meta tags right you want to make sure you go all
25:49
out and you have all your meta tags on the page are that particular language as
25:54
well okay so um I'm not going to go into all the specifics right now I have an
25:59
entire live stream on that I if you are building multilanguage websites you need to watch that there are some really cool
26:06
agent um Lang macros as well if you're familiar with like total CS macros
26:11
they're similar super powerful it allows you integrate um with any text content
26:18
in any stack okay super powerful okay
26:26
um next next on the list is uh geot Target
26:32
okay um let's just we'll Chuck it on the page on this page
26:37
here so Geo Target allows you to um customize your content based on a user's
26:45
country or city and state okay um so you
26:50
you can customize based on um you know if you now also what's kind of cool is this version also does the European
26:57
Union so if if you want to Target someone not only in you know Germany and France but you want to Target all EU
27:03
countries that's a big one um you can do that as well okay or else you can then put it in a common comma delimited list
27:11
of country codes okay so you know F frde it's the common country codes um you can
27:17
put in a common Del limited list and you can you know customize that content for
27:23
that particular region okay um I I don't know if Josh is here I know he uses Geo uh you know Geo
27:30
Target for some uh Canadian sites another thing he uses it for um is
27:36
actually spam protection like you know he was getting some attacks from um I
27:41
don't know Asia somewhere right and so what he did is he just doesn't display his form for any visitor in you know
27:49
outside of Canada actually I think it was anything outside of Canada he doesn't display the form cuz his particular
27:55
customer it only made sense if you join their list if you were in Canada right so um he just if you're not in Canada
28:02
you don't see his his subscription form at all and that completely I think eliminated a lot of his spamming that
28:09
you know Bots were and hackers were trying to you know why do people do that by the way that is so annoying like why
28:15
you try to join someone's email list or you know put what is the purpose of putting a thousand emails in someone's
28:21
list I never understood that but um yeah anyway um do Target super useful for
28:27
that okay um there we go I won't go into it's
28:33
pretty simple it's either if you're in the city display this if you're not in that City display that and you can Nest
28:39
them as well so um you know you can you know put Geo targets inside of Geo targets so you can kind of do an if else
28:45
if sort of logic so if you're let's say in the US display this else if you're in
28:51
France display this else if you're in Germany display this um so on and so forth so you can Nest these inside of
28:57
each other to create else if logic which is pretty cool
29:02
okay um the last one in this kind of genre
29:08
okay which is um customizing stack content displaying of Stack
29:14
content is Tardis okay and Tardis um is
29:20
a uh Suite of stacks that allow you to display or hide data based on dates okay
29:28
so um in this particular uh the default ttis stack allows you to display based on a specific date okay you can also do
29:35
yearly so you could be like you know between December 23rd and January 3rd um
29:40
display this content else display something different right um Tardis days
29:46
allows you to customize the content of your site based on the day of the week or day of the month okay um and then uh
29:56
those are pretty much the two there's a t Tardis helper stack that allows you to have some custom stuff we're not going
30:01
to go into that and Tardis time allows you to just display the the time okay um
30:08
so yeah Tardis days and the Tardis stack super powerful um ways to customize your content um
30:16
maybe a big one of this is if you have if you want to display we're currently open right on your web page or something
30:23
like that cuz you're open during specific days of the week you can easily do that with Tardis days okay or a lot
30:31
of a lot of what people use Tardis for is um I have a stack called Let It Snow
30:36
and they want to inject snow on the web page during the winter time so they'll add the Let It Snow stack into Taris so
30:44
that you know during specific date ranges they have snow on their web web page and it automates that so when those
30:50
date ranges is out snow stops right so there we go any questions so far
30:59
far okay yes no okay um now the next level
31:08
of of kind of dynamic content okay is
31:13
being able to manage your cont so far all the stacks that we've or all the stacks we've kind of shown you allows
31:19
you to customize the interface and the data inside of Rapid Weaver right or inside of
31:25
stacks um but this next kind of you know category
31:32
of dynamic data is actually we set up when we design our Pages inside Stacks
31:38
but then we can manage the data outside of
31:44
stacks so um the big ones here I think a lot of you are fully aware of total CMS
31:50
feeds and video wall is another one okay I'm not I'm not gonna go I'm sorry easy
31:59
CMS yeah and easy easy CMS wraps up into total CMS yes easy CMS total CMS um and
32:07
then feeds and video allall I'm not going to do full-blown tutorials on those right now um I if anyone's not
32:15
aware I'll just do a quick overview of what those are and why they're special
32:21
okay and how we can integrate those into various Stacks okay um
32:28
actually here let's just go to we'll go to the product page really quick and we'll open up the feeds demo
32:35
why not well you were saying feeds works
32:40
with bent to but to CMS won't yes it does both work yeah total Cs and uh and
32:47
feeds work with Bento um after I kind of do a quick overview of this I'm gonna
32:52
I'm gonna just spew out some ideas for you guys in terms of um what other
32:58
Stacks you can use with everything I've talked about today okay um so what is feeds the F the $1
33:07
tour okay it allows you to dynamically generate any data or I'm sorry any
33:14
content Based on data and it could be data from um a CSV file an RSS feed a
33:23
Json feed which could be an API call or you know a on file um it could be a
33:29
database um if you have the database add-ons pack um it could be feeds actually works with total CS as well um
33:38
and let's see there's also a feeds files pack which allows you to look at the
33:43
files on a file system and generate data based on that um and then there's also a
33:48
YouTube and a Vimeo um integration if you want to kind of create your own version of video wall okay um I
33:57
recommend starting with video wall and if you want to customize it outside of that then the those um packs exist for
34:04
feeds okay um so if you if you go to my site and you just search for feeds
34:09
you'll see that there are various packs every now and then people don't understand that you have to own feeds
34:16
first it's a requirement once you own feeds these packs are basically add-on packs for feeds that give you extra data
34:24
sources okay super powerful um like the DB pack also I know Scott's a huge fan
34:32
of sqlite we're not going to go into all the different different databases that this supports but sqlite's pretty cool
34:37
as well as MySQL and Maria DB and there's actually some SQL Server users
34:42
um I created that pack thinking no one would ever use SQL Server uh integration but alas um there are some people that
34:49
even use the SQL Server integration so um while I created that as a let me
34:54
check that feature off the list I didn't think anyone would ever use it but I was wrong um so there we go um I have a ton
35:04
of live stream on feeds if you're interested in that please check those out I don't want to waste uh everyone's
35:10
time today about doing a full-blown demo of feeds itself um it really can as you
35:15
see here um create this is a lay a grid of how come all those images aren't loading oh just took a little bit of
35:24
time it'll it'll D kind of like how did with um in this quick flip oops not this
35:29
one in this quick flip here where um I used in this case particle generator um
35:34
and we use slot machine to kind of dynamically create quick flip sides the
35:40
same thing is with feeds right in feeds I just go ahead and in this example here
35:45
let me see if I have that I think I have that particular demo well here so here I have a block
35:52
grid I have no idea what this demo is right but I have a block grid and and inside the feeds here is just creating a
35:58
block grid cell so it's just going ahead and it's rotating through all of the data from this blog and it is creating
36:08
cells inside my block grid for me for every single blog post and you can do the same thing for
36:15
um CSV all these data sources as you see there are a ton of data sources in
36:20
feeds okay feeds is a super powerful stack okay
36:27
um next up is total CMS and easy CMS okay uh I think a lot of you are
36:37
already users of that um and one thing that I I think is a very powerful aspect
36:43
of total CMS is that it integrates with pretty much all of your existing
36:50
Stacks okay um let's just do a super simple example here let's say I um I have a header okay
36:59
let's just take a header into it into example here and let's say I want to be able to edit the content of this
37:06
header right um I wanted to edit it online using total CMS again total CMS
37:12
is an entire content editing framework that you can then edit all of your site
37:19
content from your mobile device or any any browser you don't need to open up Stacks in order to edit your content
37:26
okay you can add blog posts galleries files upload Depot all kinds of stuff
37:31
okay um but one thing I think some people um aren't aware of actually even though it's a it's a really big
37:37
component of total CMS are these macros okay and these macros here allow you to
37:45
integrate any data inside total CMS into any other stack okay so for example
37:52
let's say um I have a um I want to customize this header all I have to do is is is just do percent CMS data and
38:00
then you put in your CMS ID in total CMS you use a CMS ID um let's just call it header for a case for this example and
38:08
voila okay so in this macro what it's going to do is total CS is going to
38:13
query it's going to see this macro on the page it's going to go into the CMS find the uh text object called header
38:21
and then it's going to get that content and inject into our header now while why this is um important and Powerful is
38:29
because I can now use this Foundation 6 I think this Foundation 6 header all the
38:36
settings and the power of foundation 6 headers and swatches and all that stuff but yet the content is managed by total
38:43
CMS okay so this is a huge time saer time saer because um we don't need to
38:50
now once our content is managed by total CS I don't need to launch Stacks all the time to edit the content I can just go
38:57
to my website from my phone or any web browser and edit the content save it and my website is immediately updated super
39:07
powerful okay um after at the end if you guys have any
39:14
other specific questions on feeds or total CS we can answer those the last one is video wall that we're going to
39:19
talk about and I think this is a no-brainer um if you have a YouTube channel or a VI Vimeo Channel and you
39:26
want integrate those videos into uh your website dynamically then you have to
39:32
have video wall um it it will dynamically query your channels and
39:38
dynamically import all your videos onto your web page okay it's what I use for
39:44
uh my uh my tutorial section here on every product page so on my YouTube
39:50
channel I have playlists for every single product and basically all I have to do is add um the video video to that
39:57
playlist for that product and it magically shows up automatically on my web page I don't need to open up Stacks
40:04
I don't need to publish anything it's all Dynamic okay so super powerful if
40:09
you do have a YouTube channel or you want to display videos um I think video all is the best way to go for that
40:18
okay okay um let's go into some examples
40:23
on how we can um utilize some of this information or this all the the stacks
40:29
that I talked about how we can integrate it with various other Stacks
40:34
okay um so let's just go to here let's go to here and just give me an idea of
40:41
um I think some of the big ones we could talk about okay are going to be um uh here moving box right moving box
40:49
is another very uh powerful stack um it is a slider and as you see here um it it
40:56
follows a very similar structure to let's say quick flip right inside moving
41:02
box I have slides and I can go in here and I can add as many slides as I want
41:08
well guess what I can automate the exact same way that we just did with quick flip I can automate moving box
41:17
slides okay um some other similar ones let's do like um Horizon is another
41:23
popular one that I have does does the structure here look
41:28
similar right here I have Horizon and inside Horizon I have a
41:34
horizon card and with Horizon you can add as many Horizon cards as you want
41:40
now Horizon itself actually has some integration with total CMS built in okay
41:45
um but you can also use things like slot machine and feeds to generate all your
41:51
horizon cards if you don't know Horizon is if you go to any of my product pages
41:57
and we go down let's scroll all the way down um here's an example of horizon okay it's just this horizontal scrolling
42:03
um and this guess what this here on my product page is dynamically generated
42:09
okay I didn't manually do this it's dynamically generated based on um in this case I won't show you but basically
42:16
YouTube I have tags for this YouTube video and basically this just says hey find all other products that have
42:23
similar tags and uh Chuck them into Horizon and there we
42:28
go so it thinks hey you might also like these things right so yeah if you if you
42:35
happen to add a stack and you kind of see this this structure at least from from my stacks I can't say anything
42:41
about other developer Stacks but I if you own any of my stacks chances are um
42:48
it's going to follow this sort of structure and you're going to be able to dynamically generate that content you
42:54
know with all of the stacks that we talked about today okay here let's see if we can uh
43:00
here let's go and see if we can get some more ideas on some other Stacks I should have took note uh of these oh points
43:06
points is actually I recently I think I recently updated points so that it works great with feeds and total
43:14
CMS so points um allows us to um inside
43:19
of points the UI is a little bit different here but we have the a point here right so now guess what I can now
43:25
Chuck in to a total CMS or feed stack and dynamically generate these points
43:31
based off data okay um I think we did in a live stream the ability to control
43:38
points on an a point stack using to a total CMS blog um it was pretty cool
43:44
maybe it was a hangout but imagine if you don't know what points is here we have images with points sitting on top
43:49
of it right imagine being able to dynamically add these points with
43:56
something like a CSV file or a Blog right and you can dynamically map
44:01
out items on a picture with a Blog pretty cool it's
44:07
very cool and it definitely works okay let's see if we can find out some other cool
44:13
ideas uh let's see we talked about moving box SEO helper we we did talk about uh obviously you know editing meta
44:20
tags using total CMS or feeds um and then the language aspect of it uh if you
44:25
have multi language site SEO helper works really great with SEO uh or sorry agent uh laying so you can have uh
44:32
multilanguage meta tags as well which is really important if you want to do uh SEO across multiple
44:39
languages um um I mean a lot of these Stacks you know
44:47
if you want to integrate let's say
44:52
uh uh what are some other interesting ones anyone else have any other cool Integrations that they've done that they
44:58
want toat about B works very well with FEDS I've done that which one does B oh
45:04
play yes um so yeah yep so if you were doing play here uh you could you know
45:11
easily generate multiple play Stacks you know in a layout there's a lot of Stacks with the
45:20
word play in it that's weird interesting okay yeah I that work it is got CSV crud
45:27
as well generate in all the videos yeah uh oh and just to kind of show you uh
45:33
let's say uh here we'll even do uh the starter pack which is free okay you
45:38
don't need to have Foundation 6 I know I talk a lot about Foundation 6 it's just CU it's awesome okay um but if um you
45:47
had my free starter pack okay um you can create here's a the grid stack for my
45:53
starter pack and you can dynamically generate layouts here just like we did in the feeds
46:02
um in the feeds demo here okay where I I created this grid here right um that's
46:10
just I don't know if I use the grid here or if I'm using the foundation 6 block grid but you can do the same exact thing
46:15
here right where basically you're just going to dynamically generate these grid cells from feeds or total CMS or you
46:25
know any other the stacks we talked about today okay and um so yeah pretty
46:30
cool and a lot of the stacks like um here let's just build it out really quick for fun or do I oh I still have
46:38
feeds open okay so here we have a block grid and then inside feeds it it's going
46:43
to Ping into total CMS and then it's creating multiple block grid cells now what David was saying
46:50
is oops come on
46:58
what David was saying is what he did is inside let's say in this grid for every single item I can then add in a video
47:06
using my play stack which has some fancy animations and stuff right um and you
47:12
can easily just take the data and inject that into the video URL okay so um let's say in total this
47:20
is using total CS I don't think this this particular feed has a media thing but if I if I was using the media field
47:28
I can then just do uh curly brace curly brace media there we go right and now uh by
47:36
just adding that I've integrated play and I'm dynamically creating a grid of
47:42
videos using my play stack because of feeds right so super powerful um how all
47:51
of these Stacks once you start learning them they can work together to create super Dynamic content and uh yeah it's
47:59
really really cool other ways the LA actually there is
48:05
one other stack I didn't talk about yet um that's kind of uh slightly different
48:10
it it is dynamic and it can add some Dynamic aspects to your page and that's call to action okay um and let's just
48:19
show you on the demo okay so here I first logged into this page and uh when
48:26
I went to it it dynamically opened up a light box for me okay um now that un
48:31
unto itself oops isn't necessarily all exciting right okay um but if you notice
48:39
I'm refreshing this page and that light box doesn't come up again right um and
48:44
that's because call to action can have some um logic where you can be like hey
48:49
show this person only the first time they visit a web page right because we don't want to annoy people right so this
48:56
allows us to create um some interactions with our users in a dynamic way that
49:02
isn't annoying okay you could be like you can also do this logic like hey show this
49:07
light box once a person has uh visited three web pages right maybe show you've
49:13
determined after someone's visit visited three web pages I know they're interested and maybe I want to prompt
49:18
them to subscribe to my newsletter stuff like that right so this is what call to
49:23
action can really um you know help kind of track our users in actions and then
49:30
based on what they're doing on our website we can then uh display certain information on them right and there's
49:36
tons of different actions um so here obviously it does on Entry um you can do on exit intent which is basically like
49:43
if I click on this URL bar oh wait don't leave here get 10% off don't leave us I
49:49
don't know right um there's an you know I know some people do that um you can do it based on scroll position so as I
49:55
scroll down the web page once they reach a certain part of the web page um you know this that actually that UI is way
50:02
too transparent U don't copy that UI everybody please don't um but it shows
50:07
you the action right um that based on scroll position it can can take actions
50:12
and display stuff to our customers automatically um and then obviously based on click as well so this clicks
50:18
open you know based on clicking on things but we can do click on so many other ways but um and it integrates with
50:25
a ton of stacks not just mine a bunch of third party Stacks as well okay I use it
50:31
with Pie use it with P use call to action with pi yeah pops up people look at for
50:38
solar they look on my website the first thing it pops up is um see your system size and they can
50:44
use a slider from PI and click how many kilowatt hours they used on their bill
50:49
and pick the month they're in and then it boom it kicks out a system size estimate right then nice sweet sweet
50:56
love that yeah it works it's pretty powerful I love it yeah P Pi is another one is while it's not Dynamic content
51:04
it's interactive content right which is super cool right so you can do stuff like you just said like like based on
51:10
your business rules that you created dynamically generate you know a quote for a customer without needing you at
51:18
all right and it's not even give them a quote it just tells them what size system they need or I could probably
51:23
modify it to say how many solar panels they need everyone wants to know how many P yeah yeah how many panels you
51:28
need and you just slide what you're using and it tells you how many panels sweet it's really cool love that love
51:34
that very cool thanks for sharing anyone else kind of uh want to share some other cool ideas that they've
51:40
done that I kind maybe didn't cover
51:53
today no nothing no mine's going to be more of a question on how to integrate drift drift Pro with uh
52:00
Bento drift Pro with Bento okay so how
52:05
how so like what what do you want to do like what's the goal well to have it
52:10
where people go on the website and if they're interested in battery backup which is real popular in California now then then they can maybe uh as they they
52:19
move over to touch the battery it can drop up a bunch of Bento screens that
52:24
they can see like backup battery it's scalable so different photos and have it just drop in you know how like with
52:31
drift and drift po you can have it uh come in and out of the screen as you
52:36
hover you know so I've been playing with that this week okay uh I'm I'm actually
52:42
working on I hope to get Bento officially released by next week I'm working on the demo as we speak um I do
52:49
have one update coming uh and I'll I'll let you guys know if you're especially
52:54
if you're using it I do have one minor breaking change in the in the release version for people that have the current
53:00
version and that's the gutter setting um The Gutter setting right now it allows
53:05
you to apply a gutter uh basically the same equal gutters everywhere and I want
53:11
to be able to allow you to customize the gutter vertically and horizontally um so um in order to do
53:18
that though it's going to break your existing gutter settings it's going to revert it back to the default which is
53:23
20 pixels um so you'll need to redo your gutters if you had changed them from the
53:29
default setting um but it does give us more granular control because we can now have a a different column gutter versus
53:36
a a row gutter um so yeah I was going to I'll send out an update hopefully you're
53:41
on the Bento space uh in Weaver space um and uh yeah so pretty minor thing but it
53:48
is a breaking change that I wanted to do before I shipped it to the world yeah bento's R the the layout is
53:56
just different than everything you see you able to move things around it's cool thank you I mean you got pretty trick
54:01
with some boxes inside of boxes to make it look like it was kind of floating in its own spot yes I forget yeah it was
54:09
that's cool thank you yeah it's it's a lot of work though because when you're trying to go to tablet sizing and then
54:15
to phone sizing you're like oh that doesn't look good yeah the rules I think the trick is to really start off with um
54:24
the mobile I think Mo doing it mobile first um and then moving up from there is beneficial um another thing I
54:31
actually changed um cuz I'm I'm trying to re Implement Bento from scratch in
54:37
terms of a user context and I realized that when you uh added a Bento stack to the Page by default it defaulted to the
54:44
large um um edit mode I've changed that so when you add a new instance to the
54:49
stack it defaults to extra small now so that I It promotes uh more of a mobile
54:55
first uh approach because when you added a new Bento item that defaulted to extra
55:01
small but the main stack defaulted to large so now everything defaults to extra small um at first now if you want
55:08
to do large first you can just chick on the large boxes and do that first but um
55:13
I do think the way the settings work because they always inherit from small to large
55:19
that starting with the extra small um is definitely I think the better way to go when you're building a
55:26
layout now does your measure tool does it you know there's there's new devices
55:31
and I think I'm on rap with weever eight and I think it doesn't really have like iPhone 15 as an option on there but does
55:37
your measure say when you get to certain sizes it call the new stuff yes yeah yes
55:44
so yeah I have all all of devices up until iPhone 15 Pro um and as newer
55:51
device new devices are released I'll make sure I add those to the list as well as well yeah measure is another really
55:58
awesome one yeah thank you uh I actually I I built measure because of Bento um
56:04
because Bento has another feature called container queries which I don't know if you've played with um it allows you to
56:12
base all the the breakpoint settings based on the width of Bento itself not necessarily the browser window right
56:20
right and in in order for me to properly test that test that I needed to have a
56:26
way to know exactly the width of Bento at any point in time and so I built
56:32
measures so that I can have a a dynamic display of how big Bento was and so yeah
56:38
measure was uh was born because of Bento and then also it because Apple
56:43
completely messed up the responsive design mode in Safari and that pissed me off so I uh I fix I made measure kind of
56:52
you know help with that situation as well yeah I imagine everyone getting on their
56:58
website is probably looking at you know portrait view from their iPhone initially yes
57:04
oh% I I have stopped trying to um design for iPhone landscape like it's just it's
57:12
not usable I mean the website I mean especially because now way back in the day it was okay because the iPhone its
57:19
pixel dimensions weren't very big so you could you could still say if it's 300 pixels why cuz I think I don't remember
57:25
the exact dimensions of like an iPhone 3 right but 320 it was yeah you're you're still at like 320 pixels even in
57:32
landscape mode right so you're like H it's still mobile just serve the mobile layout but now I mean this iPhone in
57:39
landscape mode has more pixels than my desktop some you know on my laptop right so like there's it just doesn't make any
57:47
sense so yeah um I do I do not design for landscape mode on mobile device at
57:53
all yeah exactly yep same thing I've already
57:58
gotten a couple requests because like you can do some browsing now on your Apple watch and I'm like dude like I
58:05
don't know I don't I don't know I've only gotten I think one support request for that um just just do it for the
58:10
glasses glasses is that what you need the VR helmet so you can actually put the watch
58:17
from your phone into the watch then into the VR helmet so you can actually see what's on the screen I can't read it
58:24
yeah add that to measure yeah VR from watch yeah
58:33
exactly yo I've got a question about uh TCMS blog sure um I've got a client who's got two
58:41
blogs on her site now one for recipes and the other for articles okay
58:49
and she said the other day oh I want to put some uh some of my recipe blog posts at the bottom of my article post page
58:56
sure and uh I said oh do you want to link them together some way so the
59:02
particular article about health and nutrition relates to certain blog
59:08
posts as it happens she doesn't but ra a question from my head yep would that be
59:14
possible to link somehow link the two blogs together yes you should be so in a
59:20
blog list so the way you would do that is your blog um you can have a blog list on your blog post page right and
59:26
obviously the blog list would would point to your recipes uh blog um you
59:33
know list that's right that's and then in the blog list there's also the ability to um filter by um hold on let
59:42
let's show you C category tag author yeah okay um just how to get the tag
59:48
from the other blog yeah so in a in a blog list here we go okay uh we can go
59:55
ahead and here we can say uh we can filter okay so let's say we
1:00:02
did tag that yeah and then what you do is when you click on tag you say related
1:00:07
tags from post okay okay and what that's going to
1:00:13
do is it's going to get the tags from the blog post that's you're the page you're on and then it's going to filter
1:00:20
out all the blog posts that only have the tags that that blog post has
1:00:27
even though they're from another blog even though they're from another blog oh okay oh I'll try that then okay so there
1:00:34
the other blog would have to have those tags yeah exactly so the blog post have to have those tags there is a way to do
1:00:39
it then yeah yes okay I didn't know you could but you can even do it on the same blog one blog and use it to drive
1:00:46
another one yeah do on the same Scott said you can do it on the same blog too or different blogs it shouldn't really
1:00:51
you may also you may also be interested in this recipe yep you know yeah exactly
1:00:56
like I did on you know like I showed on my product pages where on that bottom one that has the Horizon we you might also like I do the same thing it's just
1:01:03
I filter by tags all the products that have the same tags are then displayed at the bottom yeah yeah yeah but that's the
1:01:10
same product blog isn't it yep exactly I didn't know you could do it across blogs
1:01:16
yep sweet okay good thank
1:01:23
you so would you able to see that on the page inspector would you be able to see the tags on someone else you can uh so
1:01:32
uh yeah uh you can see the tags in a in a in the inspector um here I'll show you
1:01:37
how um you have to know obviously it's not like very apparent let's just go to
1:01:43
my um sandbox blog test all right so here is a uh a blog
1:01:51
list okay and uh if we go ahead and inspect
1:01:58
this okay uh one second here it is okay
1:02:06
um oh I think I showed this last week right where if you look at so here's all of the blog posts you'll see here it
1:02:13
adds classes for every single author category tag and stuff like that um so
1:02:20
yeah there you go um that's how you could see that um you could also inject
1:02:25
like some hidden data as well if you wanted to like see it some other way um you can inject hidden data um another
1:02:32
thing you could you could also do is um here uh let's say so here's a blog
1:02:40
list right here's something a lot of people don't do let's open up SEO
1:02:48
helper okay just add it up here for now okay um so actually here let me show you
1:02:54
an example on my website all right so here I have I have
1:03:00
a list I pretend this is a total sems blog list okay it's effectively what
1:03:05
this is um it just uses Bento okay um
1:03:12
so in order to help with SEO um what I do is are you familiar
1:03:19
with structured data okay what you can do is you can insert the structured data
1:03:24
about every single product inside of each individual post okay so let's let's
1:03:32
look at that so if we go here I inspect that and let's
1:03:40
find all so here's if we see here okay this uh let's increase the size a little
1:03:46
bit for you guys okay if you see here this is each individual product you see as I select these it selects the one
1:03:52
above it right so you can see these are each individual product okay if I dive into this again this this is only there
1:03:59
for Bots and you know Google and it's so that I know um and let's find where it
1:04:05
is it's in here somewhere wouldn't like your price when it pops up isn't that structured data
1:04:11
yes uh well yes and no where is did I
1:04:16
remove it from this page no no way oh here it is here it is okay um all
1:04:26
right so it's kind of tough to read in here okay but uh this is structured
1:04:34
data what happened why isn't it select oh there it is okay so this is structured data I know it looks funky
1:04:40
but it's Json structured data for this particular product which one are we
1:04:45
looking at here I'm looking at Geo Target right so here you see here
1:04:51
it says uh type product so this is a product um structured data name is Geo
1:04:58
Target right description here's the short description the brand is brand is
1:05:03
Weaver space right we see the price is $29.95 currency USD here's some images
1:05:11
right so basically for every single one of these products I also have structured
1:05:17
data okay now how do we Implement that so what you do is um you uh from SEO
1:05:24
helper okay you can go ahead and click on the plus button and you find which which structure data you're you're going
1:05:29
to need okay if it's a normal blog you can do blog post or an article um if
1:05:34
it's a video thing or if you're using total CMS blog to do products you could do that or books or FAQs or maybe it's a
1:05:41
person maybe you're using blog list to generate a team a a you know a a grid of
1:05:47
teammates right and you wanted to do each one as a person right but know
1:05:53
let's just do blog post for now okay what I'm going to do is I'm going to take that and I'm going to drag it directly into my blog
1:06:00
list okay and then inside here you would then put in all the blog list
1:06:05
macros for all of this data right so for here I would do um title
1:06:17
oops and then here where you put summary and then here where you put the you know you could figure out the URL and do that
1:06:24
right so this is the structured data for that particular blog post right so yeah super powerful again
1:06:32
that's for blog um if you were using the blog for something other than a Blog
1:06:38
such as product you would drag the product structure data in there and then fill out all the data for
1:06:44
that so one time to
1:06:53
macro I forget why I went down this Rabbit
1:06:58
Hole uh for for um for classes for
1:07:04
tagging oh yes oh yeah okay yes so uh you know in here uh you know you could
1:07:09
you know add in a field in the structure data that has the tags maybe right so you can then see that data um that way
1:07:16
you could add it to your blog or yeah you could add it to your blog right um
1:07:21
yeah so like my particular interest would be to get an update on a product I
1:07:26
use and link to their you know most current you know uh when you go on say
1:07:33
in Phase website they've got a microinverter but then it's uh you know there's updates to it it has new
1:07:40
information I could link to their data sheet or something as my data okay yeah
1:07:45
you can also use something in total CS you can use like a I don't know maybe the media field or something like that
1:07:51
where that you know if it has a link you can then put that link Link in the media field and then you can just say you know
1:07:56
uh you can adjust the layout for like if the media if there's content in the media field then put in this link and
1:08:03
then it'll dynamically put the link in there for you yeah that would solve my problem yeah that'd be easy
1:08:09
yeah I I think I think we did that I think that was last week's live stream so check out last week's live stream I
1:08:15
think we did that exact thing yeah yeah we yeah we went over blog layout rules
1:08:21
um last week so check out that live stream I'll dig back through y hey I was there
1:08:27
I won the 10 bucks oh yeah cool that's [Laughter]
1:08:34
right oh that reminds me we gota we got I didn't damn I did not okay I gotta put
1:08:39
my okay we got to do a we got to do a drawing let me think of a of a trivia question hold on okay 19 thanks for
1:08:46
reminding me about that okay we got to keep the we got to keep the party
1:08:52
going one thing I did noticed last week okay this is unfortunate I I don't have a solution for this is like if my live
1:08:58
stream was a little behind let's say someone started the live stream a couple minutes late I noticed some people were
1:09:04
like putting in answers to the questions that I was asking after the live stream even was done like oh you I don't I
1:09:12
don't know there's a solution for that but hey you know we'll still we'll still keep going he I got to let let me put my
1:09:18
thinking cap on so we can uh do a drawing here or question
1:09:30
1972 it's not going to be a year this time it's not going to be a year okay
1:09:36
and and it it has to be you can't blurt out the answer you got to put it in the chat because I can't if everyone says the answer at the same time I'm just
1:09:42
gonna be able to I'm gonna be watching the chat so make sure everyone get their chat window open okay how do you chat on
1:09:51
this I don't see where you chat on uh there is a chat uh on the bottom bar
1:09:58
of Zoom there's a chat go it's more on mine yeah oh
1:10:06
okay all right I'll ask we'll do two questions again today why not why not we'll do two questions
1:10:12
today all right um hold on let me let me get the answers I know what questions I'm going to ask now I just need to get
1:10:18
their correct make sure I get the correct answers
1:10:52
for
1:11:02
got the answer for that one hold on one
1:11:22
second the answer is curly brace curly
1:11:29
brace okay I got it question number
1:11:34
[Music] one how many updates did I Shi last
1:11:41
year oh
1:11:46
[Laughter] [ __ ] okay and uh question number two is
1:11:53
you can think of about both how many. o products did I ship last year either a 2.0 or a 1.0 so
1:12:00
basically a paid upgrade or a completely new
1:12:12
product no o
1:12:17
o man so close
1:12:29
for the smart people I actually mentioned to these numbers in an
1:12:34
email so I was
1:12:41
thinking oh so so close there's all it's funny how the numbers always Jump Around
1:12:47
the correct number obviously the easier one is the
1:12:52
is the how many new new products to
1:13:02
ship come on how many I I can't imagine people would probably not know how many free updates I should okay all even do
1:13:08
if you're within like 25 of the uh free
1:13:19
updates the number sounds smaller we like the prices right sort of thing like you can't go over like you know you ever
1:13:26
watch that show is that that or was that only an American
1:13:32
thing how many how many new products come on oh Scott's so
1:13:39
close I'm not within 25 uh no you're you're you're within
1:13:45
50 oh there we are it was uh ik rest step you 423 it was
1:13:54
424 that was pretty good I'm impressed Peters Peters ski is that what
1:14:01
he's supposed to be yep Peters ski okay Peters ski you won 10 bucks um hey we
1:14:06
still we still didn't get I don't think we got how many new Stacks I shipped this year how many new Stacks did I ship
1:14:13
this year everyone was now that one's got to be exact because there's not that many I think there's about
1:14:19
32 nope new Stacks oh new uh NOP so close 11 11's been said before
1:14:27
10's been said before
1:14:36
nope 12 The Jock
1:14:42
wins okay here let me let me take a note so I don't I don't forget we got P Peters ski and uh Bill The
1:14:49
Jock nice I did put all of them that that's technically
1:14:54
[Laughter]
1:15:01
correct actually what's the number 13 14 15 12 I shipped 12 new products last
1:15:07
year and 424 updates wow so technically I was
1:15:14
right because the question the question was how many did you ship this
1:15:20
year did I say this year I meant last year oh my bad I me last
1:15:25
year this year I think I've only shipped like five updates maybe something like that of the because of the kitchen
1:15:33
because because of the kitchen oh okay now we're here you guys want to see the the current state of the kitchen here I'll show you guys let me find the
1:15:41
picture at my
1:15:52
alley
1:16:07
okay there we go here is the current state of my
1:16:12
kitchen um yep so this hopefully this Saturday we're going to get all of our
1:16:18
counters are going to be uh installed um and uh so I'm not doing that though
1:16:25
what's keeping you from putting the hood back on Jo uh we're gonna do tile backsplash the entire height so yeah the
1:16:32
tiles backsplash is going to go all the way up are you doing the tiles or somebody else uh probably me probably me and my
1:16:39
brother-in-law probably you got you got waterfall on the end there uh yeah
1:16:44
waterfall on this end and that end over here yeah sweet yeah um upper the ceiling nice yeah yeah
1:16:53
so here you guys want to see the before here let show you the before there's the
1:17:00
before so if you notice I I so I raised all the cabinets up um all the Cabinetry
1:17:06
here is all new and custom built um enclos the fridge obviously I knocked this I knocked this out I knocked the
1:17:13
hood out and we have a new hood that will go all the way to the ceiling um I added I I extended these cabinets out uh
1:17:21
a couple feet and built a new Cabinetry here um actually pull out drawer um or pull
1:17:27
out garbage I mean did you do your appliances yet do I do my what
1:17:33
appliances uh no we we're keeping all of our appliances uh minus the range hood we did buy a new range hood kind a
1:17:40
sh uh and then the island I'm
1:17:46
sorry the dishwasher Fisher P dish drawer oh it's a top and a bottom drawer
1:17:53
oh no they sell them at Lowe's check them out they're awesome whenever you do your dishwasher again replace it with that cool it's a double but it's two
1:18:00
drawers oh interesting that sounds interesting that we can have clean and be loading a it's it's I've had them for
1:18:07
13 years they're awesome sweet that sounds convenient yeah I could see that
1:18:12
uh the island here we extended basically we're we're replacing our kitchen table the Island's just extending out you know
1:18:18
seven feet out way out to here and it'll just be one big huge countertop um so that really stoked with that um
1:18:26
the sink is going to be uh under under mount sink we Farm Mount a farmhouse
1:18:31
sink as well so I had to completely rebuild the sink Cabinetry um yeah to to accommodate the
1:18:38
new sink style um nice Espress machine oh thank you yeah I love it Jura and
1:18:45
also the uh the cabinets I raised those up to the ceilings not sure if I said that before so yeah yeah got rid of the
1:18:51
desk and put in an area for Boost exactly yeah we got rid of the desk and have some nice drawers uh and area for
1:18:59
the liquor cabinet and a nice big open sink too instead of the divided one exactly yeah
1:19:06
exactly uh all the oh all the drawers uh the ones that don't have drawers you can see is because I'm I I'm rebuilding all
1:19:13
the drawers with custom Maple drawers so um yeah I'm rebuilding all the drawer boxes myself uh the reason I'm doing
1:19:19
that is I fell in love with the under mount drawer slides yep because they close so much
1:19:25
nicer um and so but in in order to do that I had to rebuild all the drawer boxes so doing that what kind of sucks
1:19:34
is one of the first things I did was actually replace all the drawer slides in my existing drawers with soft closed
1:19:40
side mount drawer slides so I did all that work and then when I built these
1:19:45
this cabinet over here I was like oh let me try these undermount things I didn't even know they existed before and they were like a thousand times nicer so I
1:19:53
was like I have to do it everywhere they're Bloom you can pick the drawer right up yep I yeah I got Bloom um
1:20:00
although I I did try because uh for a while Bloom was hard to find so I bought some from Rockler if you know that yeah
1:20:06
Rockler good yeah they're they're comparable the the connections on Bloom are nicer but the Rockler ones are like
1:20:12
$10 cheaper each so I ended up stacking up on those and I got them on sale so I
1:20:18
saved quite a bit of money by going with the Rockler ones um to make sure they click in
1:20:23
otherwise your drawer will lift up on its own exactly yeah yep I like the
1:20:29
opened in shelf too those we have the same as nice which one your the Shelf to
1:20:35
the left of the sink it opens oh yeah yeah I built that yeah I built that as well yeah it's nice thanks I appreciate
1:20:43
oh another I didn't want to replace all the hinges on the on the cabinet doors um so I found
1:20:50
um ciche makes a you can't really see it here um it's a
1:20:55
little thing you just attach and it makes any door soft closed yep little
1:21:01
it's a little um springloaded with a little piston inside exactly onto the
1:21:07
hinge yeah exactly yeah so um I just you know mounted those above the existing hinges and uh yeah saved a [ __ ] ton of
1:21:14
money doing just adding that instead of replacing all my hinges totally yeah it's nice thanks
1:21:24
yeah there we go there's my kitchen oh you just went with like an open hood then all the way up yeah oh
1:21:32
here I'll yeah yeah it's gonna be here I'll show you the glass and stainless
1:21:37
all the way up it's stainless all the way up yeah um
1:21:43
here uh let's see what the heck
1:21:50
close now it's not and good job doing the appliance garage or what they call
1:21:55
the the bread box that goes from the upper cabinets down onto the counter those are terrible yeah
1:22:03
exactly some reason this isn't working here we I used to install cabinets and we used to put those in and then the
1:22:10
customer would have us take them out within 30 days oh really yeah they they're
1:22:18
D take up space photos is now Frozen so I can't show you but yeah it's just it's
1:22:23
just a stainless steel hood that goes all the way up nice okay so there's a reset on the
1:22:30
hood here's a a life hack oh yeah you're gonna have it it's gonna warn you to change out the filters right but you're
1:22:36
GNA forget which two buttons to press and hold down so inside the filters that come out you put them in your dishwasher
1:22:43
or whatever I wrote with Sharpie on the top side how to reset the darn thing that says clean for the filter because
1:22:50
your hood is going to have a little digital display that says clean your filters oh mine doesn't have that it's
1:22:56
just the the metal gr you could oh really it will Flash and it'll say CL or something okay it's based on the time it
1:23:04
runs because it assumes it's catching and so I go with Sharpie on the
1:23:12
top side of mine because I could I always had to look it up online to figure out how to clear the dang
1:23:17
code on the hood nice so once I wrote it down I was so happy
1:23:25
it's probably every like four or five months I gotta hit press you know to clear the clean mode on the little
1:23:32
display the displays usually shows like what your fan setting is for your
1:23:37
hood here's the here's the hood yeah okay pinch for bigger view so
1:23:45
somewhere on there it might not Joe it might not have it inside there yeah the controls are inside for mine I don't
1:23:51
have there there is no display for mine you just basically just lift and take the grates out and you just Chuck them
1:23:57
in the dishwasher right there there's no there's no alert for it though yeah we want we wanted one that
1:24:03
was just completely just there's no there's no panel in the front it was just completely clean all 100% stingless
1:24:10
steel and ditch that upper micro Hood exactly yeah yeah sweet man that's a nice
1:24:17
upgrade thank you now everyone's gonna hang out in the kitchen yeah on the island yeah totally yeah doesn't matter
1:24:25
what you're don't I mean unless you're watching the game no one's G to be in the living room they're gonna just sit around that Island yeah yeah it's quote
1:24:32
G rad thank you well guys thank you very much for popping on and uh having some
1:24:38
